Denise, I absolutely love your videos. I could even say obsessed…. I love your loose work, I love your reaction to wonderful colors when they show up. I’m not even a watercolorist but I still get a lot of inspiration for my mixed media work. But I think I just might have to invest in some watercolors. I don’t know, you’re possibly a “bad” influence? I mean, I already have so many different kinds of mediums, but there’s something about how watercolor mixes and washes.
I definitely love mixing watercolors with all my other mediums at this stage in my art life. I never used to use watercolor at all! Thank you! 🥰

I looked up the asemic writing. Very cool. I can't just scribble though. I usually am thinking of a phrase or conversation in my head and then hold the inker way back so I don't have a lot of control, then*scribble* the thought.

2 Lil owls. At some point in the video I started seeing them each as an owl so I was glad when you mentioned it. The left one is a 3/4 ish view and the right one a full on side view. Just put a beak on each one and Voila', 2 Lil Owls! I really like the right one the best but they certainly would hang beautifully together as a pair.

Love this! It’s going to be a big challenge for me to go light with the paints because I too love the richer, more intense look. I agree with whoever said you are a bad influence. I bought the graphite waster colors that you had showed a while back. Sadly, I haven't even played with them yet. I still want to , but I have so many other things to play. I really also love all of your circular marks with the gold, so I'm actually considering finding the brass nib that you use all the time. It's quite expensive, though. I don't know if I can justify the cost.
Lol! But art supplies are so fun!! You can play around with other tools for your gold. The fineline applicators I’ve used in a few of the videos is a really good option! I keep trying and showing different things as I discover them. The brass nib is my very favorite tool though and it was worth it for as much as I use it. 😊
Just a hint: that gold ink is perfect for adding JUST A TEENY DOT into either a single paint on your palette (Indanthrone blue is beautiful) OR, even better, with a heavily granulating mix-the mica ink attaches or seems attracted to granulation. This ink is just so perfect for all kinds of effects in abstracts, or even highlights in pieces. The trick, when using it in mixes, less is more. It’s so vibrant it tends to “take over” if you’re not careful. Then again, maybe you might want it to take over! 😂

Ordered paper that arrived with a deckled edge. Will the tape stick to the "deckle"? lol
Some of my newer videos use paper with decked edges and they tape just fine. Definitely try it and just be careful peeling the tape. ☺️
Love your work! I have a question. Do you preprep your paper with water and then let it dry prior to painting to prevent buckling of the paper?
No, I just tape it down and start painting. It usually flattens out when it dries. Better papers buckle less too I’ve noticed. Thank you! 🥰

These are just super pretty Denise! The close up photos are amazing! I really covet some DS WC as there are some gorgeous colors but I just can't justify the prices of them. And I wouldn't be happy with just one or 2 colors....Great Art Day!💥🥰
