The pointer is really useful. I have had a lot of fun with it, even started to enjoy hunting on some of my least favorite maps, simply because the pointer find so many critters I would never have seen myself. Hunted a bit on Rancho with the pointer, a map where you literally have to step on game, before you see them, and I'd say 90% of the animals shot on that hunt was spotted by the dog. Thanks for the video.
Nice overview of the entire setup for our new - i would dare to say - quite useful pet, thanks ronMctube. At level 25 I just want to add that the dog will not highlight every animal, in my case it highlights maybe two or tree of dozens found. Interestingly, my dog first highlighted is diamond pheasant that it found, I was dealing with raccoons at that moment, so it earned me an eternal relationship :-) Av ! But the second feature in this lvl is it also somehow "to a large extent" but not 100% guaranteed, i.e. your dog can still sometimes sniff a little further away from you of one's own free will. LVL 30 The second choice of protection from predators is .... meaningless, except that they allowed us to protect maybe from very angry chicken - black grouse (joke of course) ... Dogs name : bloodhunter : Dexter, retriever - Debra (Dexter sister) , pointer - Hannah (Dexter Wife) ... - Kind regards from Dr. Watson :-)
Absolutely love the pointer. I taught her tracking as the 2nd job, because I find I use that more often (across all maps) than retrieving. If I'm specifically hunting Class 1 I rather just bring out my retriever which I also bought at the same time as the pointer. Retriever got pointing as its 2nd job so also points and flushes. 👌🏻 I gotta say even hunting big game is great fun with the pointer, the way she holds the game in place and barks and circles. 🤩
The map is my favourite by far I've always wanted a small game map but i need to get good because as of now I'm absolutely terrible at hunting small game but hopefully i can learn by watching this video and others but I'm mostly struggling with shooting small game in the air as I'm a terrible shot
I've only once had an animal seemingly flee from being pointed at and it was a euro rabbit. 🤔 As soon as the dog pointed the rabbit went spooked straight into the burrow. Other than that they go alert, yes, but if they flee it's because of me and not the dog. (Could of course have been me with the euro rabbits too, it's just so odd because they aren't easily spooked. 😅) I've hunted all classes with the pointer and as long as I'm at a safe distance/noise level/scent direction the animals have just stayed in that alert state.

yeah the german shorthaired pointer really works and adds the game play.
The best dog in my opinion. I want this dog years ago. When I wandering around the maps hours. Pointer and bloodnound.. Envy the new hunters.
it is the best dog in call of the wild. a great addition.

haha thanks for the detailed reply Dr Watson. it is appreciated.
I would say that the pointer is better than the bloodhound and the retriever. It has helped me find the most trickiest of animals.
thats great to hear.

yeah the dogs really add to the game and a lot of fun. thanks.

I had my pointer level up quickly by pointing at waterfowl.
good tip
nice tips my dog is baxta good one ron
great name Michael. thanks !
The secondary job levels up slower as u go. It's pretty quick up to level 7 then goes down to underc10 percent per job done.
thanks for the info. will max it out then probably do another video.
There is no point in rushing. The dog won't get better.
Thanks Ron
cheers buck
Great Guide Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome ty Ron.
Very welcome
My pointer's name is MOJO. He is at a 14 Level male. Does the dogs scare animals? I have noticed while my dog is pointing animals do become alert.
not 100 percent on this but i think they do. i get mine to lay down on waterfowl. the pointer does sneak though.

My pointer's name is Scout level 9
great name.
I love cotw, but I'm very dissapointed in the pointer. I feel their just too slow, I'm better off without it. They just need some improvements imo.
they do get a lot better as you level them up.
@dgeesiogaming Thats good to hear the mine is only 15 or something I'll level it up and try it
My dog is Tika
great name.
Don’t waste your money
There’s people who buy all the dlcs for the sake of owning all dlcs
one of the best additions for me. i have a lot of fun with the pointer.
it’s a couple bucks lol
