This was simply a DEMO! Aerosmith passed on this track since they did not want to be labeled "too poppy" after the success of I don't want to miss a thing that was written by Dianne Warren.

I mean this version is not bad. But the rawness of the Cult's version just puts emphasis on the melody, the text and everything... Love it...

I freaking love Aerosmith. Like LOVE them. However, Ian Astbury's voice is so passionate I have to say I like that version better. I'm kind of surprised though because Steven Tyler is no stranger to passion.

Cosima Devito also did this song. She's my favourite version, but not many people have heard it. Bloody brilliant. While Steven Tyler has a great voice (normally), he's really just stumbling through this (then again it is a leaked demo).
Love this song reminds me of my tough time of rieing in high school car from the town of Moorhead Iowa and my ex girlfriend from pigea Iowa wen she left me for my friend from little sioux Iowa and after I dint get back into deting or rincing cars i just wetend to be lifet alone with me in the town of Moorhead Iowa wen i finished high school in 07 and my new love was derby car and dirt rices and my love family farm of Moorhead Iowa

Somehow, I like The Cult version better - there is so much passion in Ian Astbury's voice tho' Steven Tyler's voice is, per se, superior to that of Ian. Also, I think in the context of the movie, this is too melodic and in the opening lines, too much accompaniment ! Well, that's how I feel ! :-)

A LITTLE OFF THE STEVEN/S ENERGY....
@muralipt it's all a matter of taste, I like the version of the Cult MUCH better, and imo Ian's voice is far superior to Steven's. Steven's voice is much too crispy and harsh for me, Ian's is much clearer, more of the Jim Morrison style rock voice.
