So glad I found your channel. As a beginner the e chord was no fun. Thanks for the tips!

You probably don’t realise that for arthritic old folk like me, the problem is not covering strings 2, 3 and 4, but that extreme bend on my knobbly index finger. This is why I’m forced to barre an E chord. My cheating alternative is to do a normal E7, but deaden the C string, by touching it, but not pressing it down completely. 😀🌷( Having just found your channel, I’m bingeing)

Thanks! that might actually work a little better. my index finger has a little curve on it and and my fingers are so tiny they kind of fall between strings on this cord. I'm usually getting a mute on string 3 or 4 trying to do it. Throws my wrist into a really weird angle when I try to play one of the more "normal" variations (or I'm gripping too tightly). When I say tiny hands I mean 6" from wrist to middle finger lol. Since I fingerpick and can't use the 444x cheat. I'll give this a try.
