True I bought a Cyberpower PC from Best Buy and had to exchange it twice cuz the usb ports on the back I/O would fail after a day or two......the third time I exchanged it for an Ibuypower prebuilt, was like 300 bucks more than the cyberpower.....it had good specs at a good price, but in a silly case.....it looked like a vacuum cleaner from the 1960s....but it ran solid for 6-7 years......and Ive heard a lot of bad things about ibuypower, so i guess I got lucky.....in fact Im gonna rebuild it and repurpose it into a dedicated vintage gaming PC

Greg channel is WAY smaller than Linus Tech Tips. Linus Media Group have like over 100 employees now and over 15 millions of subscribers just on their main channel and they have like 8 different channels or something now. Greg records his videos alone at home. I'm not even sure if he have an actual cameraman on most of his videos now.
This is nothing against Greg, I love his videos. Greg's videos are awesome and have great quality content. I really love the Fix & Flop series or the series at Micro Center. It is really nice to see UA-camr using his money he made from UA-cam to help others for free.
Seriously, if LTT was a small channel, how could they manage to make their own screwdrivers on their own online store shipping worldwide? It is not a cheap Chinese screwdrivers with a name on it, it is a custom one, made following their own specs. Just this screwdriver alone took literally years to engineer, looking at many different parts suppliers, control quality, etc.

Wanted to thank you for letting me know about the Lian Li Galahad recall on AIO's, my Temps very hitting 90+ intermittently ( early stages minor clog i suspect) on tmy 5900x causing my machine to reboot for a little bit. It caused me to decide to drop the TDP down to 65w & even undervolt just to get by not knowing what had changed (also being not able to replace it financially at the time).
Fast forward i sent a quick email to LianLi a week & a half ago, confirmed its within the date range of that potentially faulty units & after a few short emails had my new one on its way (direct from factory) which was very interesting. Just received my new one yesterday the process was so easy! Thanks again will be installing the new one & raising my TDP back up to what it should be!!

Some can be refilled and cleaned, like the BeQuiet Silent Loop 2 that delivers a bottle of extra fluid with it.
My Cooler Master MasterLiquid PL360 Flux 30th Anniversary Edition also has a refill port.
So if anything goes wrong and its gunking up, i can still RMA it (5Y warranty) or i could just go f* it and take it apart, clean and refill it and be most likely good to go again.
But you wont see this on most Asetek Models, which are the majority and with the mix of copper and aluminium its always prone to happen, if you dont go the extra mile, like BQ! and fully nickle plate the coldplate also on the inside so no copper/alu reaction anymore.
Or you look for the rare copper/copper solutions (coldplate/radiator) like the Alphacool Eisbär Aurora 360 for example, which on top is also refillable and extendable.

I was reluctant to choose AIO or a Tower cooler while I was trying to shrink down my PC size and remove custom water loop as I was moving to SG for work. Now I truly believed that I purchase a tower cooler which is less maintenance and hassle free.

Tower coolers FTW. I used to have an AIO because I thought it looked cool, and it does, but it got hotter and hotter over time. Switched to the Dark Rock Pro 4 and it went down 10 degrees. A friend of mine also had an AIO (msi) and overnight it went up from 30 to 80 degrees idle. Gave him my old Dark Rock 4 and now we all good.

Yeah I get that. My old pc started becoming really slow lately and I was wondering what was happening. Turns out the CPU reached crazy temperatures at idle because the pump died. Replaced with the original stock cooler I had and solved all the issues I had. Even when using cinebench, the stock cooler could reach 4000 RPM max speed versus 2500 RPM max speed on the AIO fans and it waaaaaay more silent. It was odd to me as I'd assume those fans would be more efficient than that of a stock cooler but apparently not. To think I spent 100 bucks on it back then makes me realize how dumb of a decision it was in hindsight.
In the future I think I will go back to air coolers for CPU.

Your help is appreciated. I used AIOs since they first came out. I've always had two questions: Why do the manufacturers use tubes that are opaque? Clear tubs would at least show whether the liquid is or isn't flowing and give you some idea of the temperature of the coolant. Why do these tubes lack a replaceable filter? I would like to add both to my AIO. Do you think I could do this?

I went from an air cooler to an AIO back to an air cooler. AIOs are neat n all and great if you're doing OC but they're not particularly needed. If you have a case that has a lot of airflow through it then all you need is a nice air cooler. I currently have Fractal Meshify case with a Scythe Fuma cooler and a bunch of Artic Cooling fans.

I did however manage to clean out nasty growth/gunk/slime off of the micro fins & refill the loop, Resealed the rubber gasket & hooked it back up. Thing runs at 32 degrees now & charted well above it’s expected performance level. Was going to sell it but I think it might come in hand in the future.

I had a Fractal Celsius S24 (CPU) and S36 (GPU) in one machine, used them for 4 years (2 years + another 2 with a new CPU and GPU) then gave it to my brother, he used it for another 2 years and they are finally being retired to make a custom loop. They still appear to be working fine with good temps and no gurgling after 6 years. Also really enjoyed the built in water temp based fan speed controller.

That front panel case airflow restriction is absolutely unreal. You can get nicely painted black 'gutter-gaurd' mesh 36"x6" for $4-$5 from Home Depot, Ace or Lowes (Menards?, We don't have Menards on the West coast). You do have to cut out the case, but that looks like nicely creased ABS, so picking a seam and scoring it a few times with a utility knife would let you replace a panel with mesh. I know that's not your goal here, but its so sad temps could be 10-15° cooler for something so simple.

It sat on the rear exhaust fan, which wouldve made it ist a push pull config, but the thing is, that it was a pull pull config, with each fan tryin to steal the others air and so....no cooling at all (if it werent gunked up already tho ofc.). *FP*

I almost bought a pre-built gaming PC with an AIO water cooler. I wound up purchasing my PC as parts, most of which were new with used DDR4 RAM running at 3200. Of course I bought two kits of 16 GB (2@8 GB) and ended up just putting all four DIMS in my rig for a unique aRGB pattern. Something else to entertain myself with. Also, my MVME M.2 SSD is also used. My CPU tower cooler is a Frankenstein creation. It's a Vetroo tower cooler. The fan had RGB lighting, but it failed to light up so I replaced it with an updated RGB fan from Cooler Master. I still need to upgrade the CPU to an AMD Ryzen 7 3700 X/G. Not like I actually need onboard graphics since my GPU is a Ventus 3X.

I've never used any AIO that's not a Corsair, and going forward I will use only air coolers or the Corsair units I have on hand. The best thing about air coolers is even if the fans die, you have a big chunk of metal doing passive cooling so it isn't a complete failure.

I am sure AIO's have their place, but as someone that strictly plays games and browses the internet I've been rocking an air cooler in my PC since I built it 4 years ago and it just works my temps are fine, performance in games I am very happy with. I thought about going AIO when I was building this PC 4yrs ago, but after seeing this series I am really glad I went with an air cooler. If the fan on my air cooler ever dies I can take it off and replace it with another for a lot cheaper than replacing an AIO.

@@jasonadams7991fan coolers are much simpler, and more reliable for the average gamer. Always recommended for those gamers.
AIOs are useful for just 2 things: 1, good quality AIOs are usually much quieter for the same cooling ability, and 2, they have a higher max potential cooling for the top end CPUs. But besides those of us who buy 13900k’s to overclock for example, the only real reason is the noise levels.
