As a mavs fan, I don't really have a problem with your take. However, I think it is worth mentioning the Klay/Naji trade a little more (and I really mean those signings as a pair). During the times that Klay, Luka, and Kai are all on the floor together, the mavs will likely have one of the best offenses in the league. Not only will they clearly be lethal from the perimeter, but also in the paint with Lively/Gafford and at the nail w PJ. Also, for times that they need better perimeter defense, they have both Naji and Grimes. During those times the defense will be very well rounded while still maintaining a really capable offense. I'm not at all saying your rankings for the regular season is wrong, but personally I would have them above the nuggets as I feel that they lost a big part of their defense with KCP, making them a bit of a wildcard imo. Braun may step up to the plate, but I don't know if Jokic consistently bringing the Nuggets to 50+ wins is a good enough argument as I see the mavs being a 55+ win team. This is not only for the reasons I just mentioned, but I also feel like Luka will really be gunning for his first mvp next season which is definitely another thing to take into account

Jokic is such an advanced stats darling yall forget Jokic is trash on defense and without a good backup big and losing a good perimeter defender or in other word depth! Nuggets won't be better than the 5th seed, they maybe can be the 4th seed depending on if nobody make a jump

He’s not trash on defense, and he’s not by himself, he has Jamal Murray, an elite complementary cast of role players, a top tier coach/system and even with several severe injuries on his team in the past he’s shown the ability to carry a team to 50 wins. There is no reason you can say he wont raise this team’s floor to at least 50 games and that’s on the low end. It is an extremely safe choice to pick Denver top 4. I can hear a case that the Mavs will be better in the regular season, but your case is not a good one imo.

But I think you're overlooking what Luka and Mavericks are capable of because, yes, Jokic is capable of carrying to an extent, but Jokic has not had it as hard as Luka with the Mavericks in terms of team build until now. Look up the players that Luka career has played with the most and compared them to Jokic teammates, and that's Tim hardaway jr. Dorian finney smith and Dwight Powell are Luka's longest tenure teammates... Jokic has had consistency and better teammates these past years. Luka hasn't had much luck with teammates' injuries either, with Porzingus not being able to play for a couple of seasons and Kyrie 1st full season being hurt by a teammate (Dwight Powell) so Luka haven't had a consistent running mate since... never really had one, and Luka carried the team by playing over 40mins a game. So, Jokic game is undeniable, but by far, he has had better team and front office while Luka in the past have not and yet Luka has carried the team to more win with far, far less support and now imo it's insane to think that Luka and the current Mavs won't exceed the Nuggets who has less talent than the Mavericks. (And Jokic defense is trash. It's how the Wolves beat them by attacking Jokic. And i don't consider kickball rule good defense. It's just a loophole Jokic uses to escape playing defense)

Also about the Kings, people just so accustomed to them being bad that they just refuse to believe they can actually be in the top 6. Last season was a bit of a fluke they dealt with tons of injuries to important players like Huerter, Monk, Lyles, even Fox missed like 2 weeks which cost them a good chunk of games.
