I wasn't that keen on this version of Animated Optimus (the clearly visible feet in the vehicle mode & lack of visible waist in robot) when it was announced but since the announcement of the DNA upgrade kit for it recently, it was kind of growing on me & while it still doesn't look perfect, I do kind of like how it looks. great video as always.

My favorite thing about animated Optimus is, he’s voiced by David Kay. For those I don’t know David Kay is beast wars, Megatron, as well as Megatron and the Unicon trilogy.

At my local Walmart this guy is actually shelf swarming, which is HIGHLY unusual for an Optimus Prime toy.
Also, I'm very excited for the DNA kit, this might just be the one TF figure that feels incomplete without it.
I can't wait to get that kit!

Animated Optimus Prime is my favorite incarnation of the character.
Peter Cullen may be the goat, but David Kaye is my favorite Optimus Prime.

I’ve been waiting for you to review Legacy Animated Optimus! It’s an awesome figure, my only complaints are the lack of a faceplate, and (maybe this isn’t a complaint, but this would’ve been nice) the fact that we don’t have a trailer to make the full fire truck from the show. Maybe DNA Design can make an upgrade kit with a faceplate for the face and trailer, idk.
Other than that, the figure’s great! Very accurate to the show and well modified to fit in with the Legacy lineup.

4:18 6:22are you sure about that? Have do you seen the DNA DK-54 upgrade kit for this figure that gives him his super up mode and the full extended firetruck

Just got mine delivered, a little disappointed that the colors are “muted”. It’s more maroon than it is firetruck red and it’s more pale blue than it is royal blue.
I also think it looks more like a real toy than a model as it looks like it would fit into Toy Story universe
