Thank you for being an inspiration. Not just as a gardener, but how to exude positivity in all you do. The sheer joy you get from the smallest task--the way you placed your herbs and flowers in your basket and the smile you get from it. Bring joy and happiness in all you do...what a way to live life!!
CONGRATULATIONS. !!! , A NEW BABY ON THE WAY AND OVER A MILLION UA-cam SUBSCRIBERS! It's expected to happen to a good, genuine and inspiring family! MAY GOD BLESS YOU MORE ABUNDANTLY! Stay safe and healthy!
WOW! That grass did not look that gigantic until you squated next to it. I didn't think I would love it as much as I do. It is sooo very Fall!!! You are so good at what you do.
You are absolutely beautiful inside and out! Thank you for all your fun and inspirational videos! I know that my garden and landscaping has more than doubled in size just this year because I see all these amazing plants that you show and I NEED them haha. Bless you and your lovely family. And please never stop showing Russel and Cheddar. They are the highlights of my days. 😊
I just love the colors you have by that entrance this year. The peachy roses with the green hydrangea, and the purples and bright yellow/greens... definitely feeling inspired!
I do get why some people love them but after cleaning one several times, I've become a huge fan of recessed lighting. All my design choices are primarily concerned with how much work it will take to clean it, lol.
Someone needs to invent smellavision! I can imagine how good the drying rack, the greenhouse , even your hands smell. And how satisfying for you to be able to look at what you've accomplished. And that's why we garden : )
Thank you so much for your time and energy. I absolutely love how your channel covers many aspects of gardening. This herb drier really looks like it will work very nicely. My gardening style has changed drastically. I am now gardening at my new home, a senior living community center. You are very inspiring and kind. Thank you for sharing your passion and knowledge. Namaste
Your entire neighborhood is going to have a lot of volunteer sunflowers :-D Gotta love birds doing what birds do best. I actually got a volunteer palm tree that sprouted from a bird friend... mind you, I am 6 floors above the ground.
I just felled a bunch of volunteer trees planted courtesy of the birds. Some were quite mature and lots of branches and foliage. I'm retired now, but working FT sure makes keeping up with gardening a challenge.
I used to have a large herb garden and dried herbs every fall. I would use the bundle method but would cover each bundle with a small paper bag to keep the dust off (hung upside down over the herbs so that the top of the bag was open under the herb bundle) and then hang each bundle from the floor beams of our garage attic. It usually took the bundles about 2 weeks to dry out. It all worked really well, and I so enjoyed having my own dried herbs to use in cooking over the winter. Thanks for another great video, Laura and Aaron!
Darcy Gillan That’s what I’m doing this year too, works well for drying & saving flower seeds too! Just limit how much you put in bag so it still it has good air flow.
Cute, “I go above and beyond for you”. yes a small airy tree, if one exists would be very pretty. I’m sure You’ll know when you see it. Your cut garden is beautiful!
I love the grass tied up, it looks great 👍 I clearly messed up my first time trying herbs, but thanks to you Laura I know better now. I can't wait to see how your herbs turn out. God bless you and your family.
I live in a dry climate, and I just use a big paper bag to dry my herbs. You just punch a few holes in the bag and clip it shut. Within a few weeks, totally dry herbs!😊
Tip for hanging-style drying racks: Good idea to add a label/sticky note so you can identify when dry. Some are tougher to discern when fully dry. And when some herbs crumble, light debris will fall from one layer to lower ones ...still trying to work that out. I placed some on paper towels & wrote the variety with Sharpie. I know this cuts down on some air flow, but it seemed helpful (at least until I have a better option!)
Y'all are extremely blessed! I don't personally know anyone who has a green thumb like you do, but your cut flower garden is absolutely gorgeous! Every time I see an update, I'm more and more in awe. I would want a gazebo out there just to sit and stare at it all day. I feel your viewers are even blessed just being able to see your gardens in action, seeing things literally come to life, and witnessing everything God has bestowed upon you guys.
Hi Laura and Aaron! Wow ~ that grass was huge and looks so much better now! Good job! I really like that grass there. It will be better when you divide it next spring so it's not too big. Please show us how you do that. As many others have said about the bare spot, just stack some pumpkins and gourds. That would be a quick fix, and pretty, too. The herb drying rack looks handy. I don't have enough herbs to dry to need something that big. Actually, I've never dried herbs before, but I think I will try it this year. I'm anxious to hear how it worked for you. Thank you for sharing!
“I go above and beyond” 😂 Nice one Aaron. That grass looks much better Laura. I’m hopeless at doing things ‘before the flop happens’ too 🙄 You could pop a pot there temporarily to hide those brown stems. Or a nice pile of pumpkins 🎃 🎃🎃
It’s fun to learn what other gardeners use / don’t use. We don’t use a lot of mint but we use rosemary, thyme, and sage all year long. I have three sage plants to keep up with our demand.
Fabulous progress considering how tiny the plugs were. That's probably the lovely woodland floor soil at work. I totally love that Little Blue Stem grass. I do remember the flood video. You really worked hard and stuck to the project despite all the setbacks. Now the garden is paying you back :)
The drying bag works great if you have somewhere protected to hang it. Also if you have a fan on low in the area of it to promote more air circulation they dry faster... I still so love that path way you built out of planks ..it so enchanting
😅😅😅 lol at the end Laura- you are giving us women more ideas! I can see my hubby coming home and starring in confusion at the big drying basket from the ceiling LOL
I can't tell you how helpful this video was!! We just had a random, early, heavy, wet snow (for a day) and it did a number on our grasses! Of course the snow is gone and we are back in the 80's, so I tried tying twine around the whole thing and it just slid up! I'm going to try the stake in the middle! Thank you! Now I just need Aaron to put the stakes in! Lol (come on out to Colorado 😁)
Love the drying rack. I need that to dry my herbs in. Looking forward to seeing how it does. The cut garden is so beautiful. Makes my heart smile as you walk thru it.
The drying rack hanger Looks like a huge butterfly tower . You could have caterpillars in one . Ladybugs in the other lol. Cool little experiment with Benjamin next spring .
Great tip on tying the grass in layers...I loathe floppers and battle with them every year it seems...Is there any way your sweet mother would allow you to do a holiday tour at her house? Would love to see their place all lit up and festive :) Thank you for inspiring us in the garden and in life! You are amazing :)
WOW! What a difference with the grass...I have to admit I have the same problem with a large grass right at the front of our house that I have been procrastinating with this project as well! "Laura did hers, so I guess I will go fix mine too!" Thanks for the motivation! Can I borrow Aaron to go "above and beyond" with my t-post installation, lol!
Maybe something I will try for next year. Thanks for the inspiration. Love all your videos. It has become my time of the day to unwind and take my mind off COVID stuff. Can’t believe people actually press the dislike button on your videos. Who does that?
I freeze my herbs in zip bags with no washing and rinse when I take them out of the freezer to use. Works for me. Zinnias flower heads are beautiful when dried and put into wreaths. Your flowers are still amazing!
I always look forward to your videos and my coffee first thing in the morning. Starts my day in a positive way. What will you do with the stevia that you are drying?
Laura have you thought about maybe doing a ladies day garden event with your church. They could come help harvest herbs and flower and take home some so it doesn't go to waste?
I use the microwave to dry rosemary (on moist paper towel) and the other “drier” herbs. Just a short interval (between 1 and 3 minutes). You learn from doing - and I learned to watch and not go too long because I had a very small fire.
I'm happy to know the trick about bundling the floppy grass in sections. Why did I never think of that? I've had several grass wrangling episodes that ended in me yelling at the grass, "Fine. Go ahead and flop. I'm going to cut you down soon anyway."
To keep your bundled herbs from getting dusty, poke a hole in a coffee filter, and hang on the bundled stem of each herb before hanging. If a coffee filter isn't long enough, you can do the same thing with a paper lunch sack. I have been growing and drying herbs for 20 years. I think I'm going to have to get one of those mesh dryers though!
I'm surprised that Russell and Cheddar weren't right in there 'helping' you with that enormous grass! Seems like something a cat would love to play with.😻
So to keep up with peppers I split them, roast them, and then freeze them and have them collected in a freezer baggie. We Have a nice collection and I have kept up for a change!! Tastes so good minced into a quiche on the weekend!
His hope you well just love watching all of this ready nice to drying herbs I just love fresh herbs live in south Africa love gardening always but no water at all by us just battling to grow getting my gutters up just so much to do your flowers are stunning
Hi Laura, just wondering if you ever grow your cucumbers on fencing? It takes up less space & they aren't as dirty along with easier to pick. Not that you don't have enough garden space..LOL Gorgeous flowers in your new developed land. Your hard work really shows off now.( Aaron too!) .
CILANTRO TIP: I also don't care much for dried cilantro, but last year tried chopping fresh cilantro leaves and mixing them into a stick of softened butter. I put it into a quart sized freezer zip lock bag, spread out flat and evenly thin. Then, all winter long when I make tacos or chicken tortillia soup I open the zip lock and break off a chunk. SUPER EASY and works just like fresh. I used up last year's bags too fast and was so sad. This year I've stocked up. I do the same with scallions (so they never go bad in the fridge), chives, thyme, sage and basil now. Makes cooking super fast and simple.
Hi Laura, let the corriander [cilantro] go to flower and use the blooms in a flower arrangement their little flowers are much like Gypsophila they are a whitish/lilac and their little seed heads add awesome interest in the bouquet.
🌻Oh my, the new property must be a wonderful sense of pride for you both ... I’m selfishly proud for you!!! Thank you for my coffee quiet time with you and gardening! 💚🌼🌾
I’m going to start keeping track of missed Aaron theme song opportunities.
I was going to type the same thing!🤣
A man who goes above and beyond deserves an entrance theme song surely.
I can't wait to see Russell and Cheddar eyeing that cat hammock you put up lol. Good thing it zips up! 😻😻
Bahahahaaa...glad u mentioned something Erin! I keep waiting for that theme song!!!

Great video! I love that there was no music; just the sound of you doing your thing.
Laura & Aaron you both are COUPLE GOALS FOR REAL!!! That chemistry tho! Love it.♥️🙌🏽
A few pumpkins in front of that grass would be perfect!
Thank you for being an inspiration. Not just as a gardener, but how to exude positivity in all you do. Aaron to Laura... I go above and beyond for you. 😆. I love watching you two together. And by the way.... he’s a keeper

Lauraa pls make a HUGE sunflower arrangement or sunflower wreath. Wish I could pick them all. Hahaah
The grass looked so nice staked up!!
🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾
Am I the only one who paused to look at the cut flower garden and the stash of fall plants in the greenhouse!? Oh my gosh!
Your flower garden looks like a Monet painting. Beautiful.
I just love the colors you have by that entrance this year. The peachy roses with the green hydrangea, and the purples and bright yellow/greens... definitely feeling inspired!
The grass looks good after you tied it. Love the Herb idea. Thanks for sharing. Laura- you look great!
I like the way the grass looks after being tied up. It looks like an old fashioned wheat bundle! Perfect for fall!
You are such a delight Laura ❤
I just want to thank you for all the learning you share. I have learned so much since I came a cross with your channel. Keep up the good work.
The grass looks so much better now, and it frees up a nice spot for a stack of pumpkins!
Love the chandelier up in that room.
I do get why some people love them but after cleaning one several times, I've become a huge fan of recessed lighting. All my design choices are primarily concerned with how much work it will take to clean it, lol.
I love that grass!! It's so beautiful. 😍
Laura-you did a great job with the grass. It looks so much better !!!!

mgoose16 Aaaaa!
Careful what you wish for. Not every odor is pleasant, lol.
Do you love driving out to the cut flower garden and the 'new' property ? Must be so fun 😊
Amazing how well everything grew on the new garden!

Aaron: "I go above and beyond."
Laura: "This is where he parked the tractor."
Maybe he wanted to make sure it made it into the video, lol.

I like when she responds "baloney" 😂 their snarky love is the cutest 😍😅
Did the drying rack work?
I’m so impressed with how you tied the massive grass so neatly! If you ever divide it, plz make a video.
Grass now looks so much prettier! Nice 👍
Your entire neighborhood is going to have a lot of volunteer sunflowers :-D Gotta love birds doing what birds do best. I actually got a volunteer palm tree that sprouted from a bird friend... mind you, I am 6 floors above the ground.

What a great outcome for the grass! Looked so good

Would love a house tour of every room. Love old houses and yours looks interesting!
I have so many herbs planted in pots...this is an awesome idea Laura! I will dry some herbs for use during the winter months. Thanks Laura!
Cute, “I go above and beyond for you”. yes a small airy tree, if one exists would be very pretty. I’m sure You’ll know when you see it. Your cut garden is beautiful!
I wouldn't want to ever plant a tree that close to my home. A taller shrub, sure, but not a tree.
Gurl your house is amazing
We’ve also had a couple of nights in the upper 30s in Maryland. Seems like autumn sneaked up on us! I love watching harvesting videos. 🌸🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱☀️
I love the position of the grass. Very dramatic!
Laura's showing us the drying rack...but who's peeking around at all the glorious plants😮🌺🌿😁
You eat so well with all of your veggies and fruits. Great job.

The sunflowers were gathered together, smiling at you :-) So beautiful and cheerful
Plant Rosemary by your garden gate, for good luck!
What I learned from today’s video... to stake flopping plants in bundles rather than roping the whole plant once. Thank you Laura
Yeah, that never would've occurred to me.
I was wondering how the heck she was going to tame that big grass. 🤔
Absolutely love the smell of basil!
