  • The Habit pedal by @chasebliss is a delay pedal that can do much more than simple echoes. Apart for shirting pitches, adding textures and rhythmic glitches, it can also scan through (and reassemble) up to 3 minutes of audio. Playing with it feels like trying to recreate lost memories. Thanks Chase Bliss and @knobs for sending over this inspiring machine to test out.

It can can blur and and effect your echoes,
*Here it is modifying the pitch of the repeating notes.
Adjusting the Scan and Spread knobs lets Habit search through everything you’ve played so far.
But it can jumble it all up in new combinations!
Habit lets you travel through time!
Like when we try to recall old memories…
sometimes things get out of order and twisted around.
I think that is really interesting.
In this way, Habit is as much of an instrument as an effector.
By feeding its sound into itself it starts to make generative music.
    Thanks for checking this out.

I am a huge fan. My favourite album is Computer Recital, but you still keep up with good stuff since its release. I feel like your music opens some undiscovered before parts of my brain and it releases positive emotions (mostly nostalgia) inside me. Hope you will recieve more appreciacion from people, because you simply deserve this. Love ya!

It is really interesting. Sometimes random perfect melodies fall out of it for seemingly no reason.

I am doubting to buy the Habit or the Count To Five pedal. You got both. Which one do you recommend? I am looking for 1 more pedal on my board to make inspiring sounds with my synths... Hope to hear for you! ⭐

Hi. It's a hard choice, right!? They both do some similar and some different things.
If you main goal is creative delays (each echo has a special sound) I'd say the Habit for sure. It can do waaay more in that department.
If you want to do a polyrhythmic looping (playing your loop back at 3 different speeds at once) CT5 might be better...
Overall, Habit is probably more useful in a variety of situations but Count to 5 is really nice for some specific things (which luckily turn out to be just the things I want to do sometimes!)
Worst case scenario, if you can't decide, just imagine if yellow or blue would look better in your set-up. They both rule. I use the Habit more often lately though!

@@lullatone got one last question. Because with the Habit you can record up to 3 minutes and then it collects and mangles everything together right? Can i also do a shorter loop so that it mangles 20 seconds and starts to collect? Or is the 3 minutes a fixed length?
