The reason why this works so well, is most OSRS players play it for the nostalgia. The most memorable parts of playing runescape back in the day wasn't the grind for hours trying to get heaps of levels, it was the nooby days trying to learn everything. Everyone has a few players that were memorable to them because they helped them out when they were a noob , they just want to give that feeling back to someone else.
I met someone on runescape while fishing for lobsters ( when I started I thought I'd never make it to lvl 40 anything xD) for the first time, and that person put me on the path that I've walked for the past what... 11 years? It's amazing how things in life work.
Honestly very true. I have noticed tons more generosity and love in OSRS. Before I requit OSRS I was trying to give cash away just for fun.. idk I just thought it could go to someone that might use it and really find it useful. I remember thinking that when I was a noob, I wish I had someone do it for me, but I can do it now
When I first started playing WoW (this was back at the beginning of Burning Crusade). I was still a fresh player and I randomly offered some guy some bags I had made.... he said, "Thanks", and then he gave me 50 gold and four 16 slot bags. I probably had less than 2 gold and I only had small bags that I made. Even though that was 11 years ago, I still remember that generosity... and it influenced how I played and interacted with people after that.
I needed flying for outlands back when that first came out, and i didnt have enough gold, some guy saw me running on my mount questing and gave me 100k gold to buy flying and to this day hes still on my friends list even though i quit wow
runescape has always had one of the best communities in online gaming. I died with a robin + rangers back in 2004 when that shit was like 12 mil and 12 mil was damn near a blue phat in value and the person that got my stuff waited for me and gave it all back. It's why this game is still going strong 16+ years
OSRS community is definitely very friendly towards noobs, I give glories an stuff away from time to time but usually that is only people actually trying to play the game - people at the ge are manipulating others through scamming or doing things like this video sadly...
I was wearing full adamant and a blue cape, and this other guy was wearing full rune with a green cape. I asked if he wanted to trade capes so we were both in full green and blue armor. He did and gave me an extra 500k lol
Once I saw a guy with a farming cape I said hello Mr farmer you got some mangoes for me then he ran away I went to him and said Mr farmers angry and I went on with my training and he came and give me a 100k was my f2p pking acc it really did help....
Similar story, I was walking around in full mith and some guy offered to trim it for me, me being a noob had no idea what that meant so I gave it to him for nothing... then he traded me back a full set of rune! The only problem was I didn't have the 40 defence required to wear it :D.
Haha, and it wasn't even anything good. It was like the first 10k I had ever made in that game, and I had bought a set of black armour. I was so proud of myself, then literally the same day I bought it, I got scammed. Lost my innocence that day. The world is a cruel, cruel place.
@@Syranox Even when i technically wasn't a noob, naive little me got lured into the wilderness on the promise of 300k, that was more money then i think i'd ever had in rs. I'd often go about doing the same thing, but there was this one time whereas I saw someone get bullied in a guest clan chat, and so I decided to cheer him up a little bit. (Mind you that this was on RS3, and not OSRS). I asked him to meet me whereever he could, and I knew from their conversation of that he was a newcomer when it came to pvm, despite of having decent stats. So, what I did, was to buy him a full set of Malevolent armour, as well as a Noxious Scythe. At the time it was about 700m total, but I really just wanted to cheer the guy up. That feeling alone that you get from helping somebody out when they need it is... The best feeling that I know of ❤️... Oh, and you should have seen the reaction from the chat once he put it on 😂
Feel good story time... I remember years ago when I was going seriously for my first 99 ever (Hunter on a newly made skiller) after playing RS2 for like 5 years and only ever achieving like ~75 Str as far as highest skill goes. I never really played for money, only ever really used it for a little fashionscape. This was before EoC was public (sadly). Bots were horrendous back then at red chins and so I would eventually end up spending as much time on French and German servers (no bots) as EU/US. I was always a solitary player and while I would talk to people from time to time, I mostly kept to myself. I was extremely depressed at the time; something that’s afflicted me for many years but was particularly bad during this period. I was due to graduate college (not university, which I knew was in and of itself a failure of mine personally) soon and had no prospect of a job. I ended up skipping class to the point of missing entire days very frequently, especially towards the end. Pretty much bed ridden. A sorry state for any young man and one I’m ashamed and afraid of to this day. The reason I’m sharing this is because RS2 truly was then, as it always had been, something that kept me going and gave me a place of solace and escape (pathetic as it may be). 99 Hunter would be an achievement of such magnitude that was foreign to me. I knew it would require willpower, determination and patience. And so I set about my journey. Once able to catch red chins, I planned not to leave until I had gotten 99. The GPs accrued from the amount (I believe roughly 60K chins) caught proved to be a juicy enticement, as I’d never even been able to fathom having that kinda money back then either. And so I never left once, hence why I stated I was always quite happy to keep to myself. I had no friends to go hang out with on RS and no other goals or interests, so I stayed at red chins throughout. A good portion of the people I bumped into, and there were many, seemed to use red chins as a quick booster for cash if they’d run into trouble. They’d be hoping to catch 1/2K and make decent money to rebuild their accounts. They’d be there for a couple days sometimes and naturally, as I was ALWAYS there (lol), I got to know some of them a little bit. By the time I got to the 90s I had tens of thousands of chins. The more I met these people and heard their stories, saw if they had the mark of a decent character - and especially if they were only there to make money and not for exp - the less interested in the GPs I became. I started giving away thousands from my stack regularly. People never asked, I just found out what they needed through getting to know them and helped them out. I never made any good friends by doing this, though many added me and asked how I was doing and progressing etc for months to come now and then, but reminding myself that being kind, sharing and helping those with less is such a rewarding thing to do really helped me through that horrible slump I was in. And I hope passed on that goodwill and a nice memory of a stranger’s generosity to some people that would last for a long time. By the end of it I had around half the chins I should’ve had and not a single gold coin to my name, but those simple acts of generosity and kindness really helped me remember that I may not be such a cunt after all. I had value. Real value! There’s definitely shady aspects to this video lol don’t get me wrong, but that sentiment’s what I took most from it. My username is Electric Sea on RS3. back in the day of the potato pc where runescape is the best game I can play. It's my first mmorpg. The feels when I first played runescape, I was so happy everytime I logged in. I feel like I was in an ancient world doing adventures. back when I was 12 years old. how time flies so quickly. I'm 25 now and I still miss my noob days.
saw some noob selling only 13 trouts the other day. next day in my recommended i see this video. im the guy alching to the left of you @ 3:01 lolololol have a sub
People will always help cute noobs because it's the one thing in the game that is genuine, a new player learning. And now even that has turned into a money making scheme
When I started playing RS, I was at one point training my farming by picking up flax from the patch north of Taverley. I directly sold this flax to farmer Jones. One more experienced player came up to me and told me I should craft the flax into strings on the spinning wheel for more money and experience. He showed me the way and subsequently randomly gave me 25k. This is how I got to know the generosity of the RS community.
I used to play RS as a kid in the early 2000's, and I want to get back into it. I'm glad to see there are people who play that are genuinely nice people!
I swear this is some sort of psychological trick I was on World of Warcraft just recently on a roleplay server and the guy was selling bread and he was selling the bread at an extremely low amount like 25 copper or something so it wasn't even much more than it would cost for me to buy bread from a vendor but I think if someone gives you something you feel obligated to compensate them for what they are offering you and for their time and other people see this and think the player must need money. It's way more effective than straight up asking for money. it's a little bit like those people that are street performers they're doing more than just begging you are getting a show out of it you feel a little bit obligated to give them money
A bit of advice from a fellow noob, if he’s at the GE it’s probably not a noob. Personally I never knew the GE was a thing for like a week (I decided to hit up the wiki because everyone was telling me to go to the GE). If they were a real noob, they would be in front of varrock castle like I did
best day ever, I was leveling my mage at the wizard tower and someone gave me: 1 mil gold, and like 1000 chaos, water, mind runes and 10-15 nature and law runes. I didn't even ask for anything or nothing. Bless that man where ever you are
Think the ‘adorable noob outfit’ is the most hilarious part. Wonder how many tens of thousands of people went out to sell 13 trouts after watching this.

As a genuine noob woman, that makes me sad that I didn't get a sugardaddy on the game back in the day
MrStrongBro same bro
MrStrongBro DAMNIT [insert grill name] was you?!
*hops on mod acc**bans scammer*
When a J-Mod gets scammed LuL
sure hope the 13 trout scammed is banned. what a sad ban that would be xD
Kudos to you for using the Mac Miller instrumental and unironically saying “Mac and cheese” during it. RIP the legend 👍🏻❤️
the first song is vice city - xxxtentacion
i was like why do i wanna cry outta nowhere lol
Ohh, so you are responsible for every day i see people spamming sell 13 trout at ge...
syrenet this was just meant to be an experiment but this consequence is expected given the average person's greediness and lack of character.
and now all we see for months is "selling 13 trouts" they dont even try and change it up
1:51
"Fucking nerd"
"Gtfo nerd"
lmao
YO. im over here grinding out late nights so i can make some money to buy bonds. while this guy is making a future by seeming like he's poor. feels bad man
back in the day of the potato pc where runescape is the best game I can play. It's my first mmorpg. The feels when I first played runescape, I was so happy everytime I logged in. I feel like I was in an ancient world doing adventures. back when I was 12 years old. how time flies so quickly. I'm 25 now and I still miss my noob days.
This is one of the most absurd things I've ever seen in my entire life.
TBH you should jump on your jmod account and toy around with that dude who scammed your 13 trouts.
Damn dude, I never knew people could be this nice. Keep it up Ronan
It's being stupid, this is what scammers pray on.
Cant wait to see 5 of these on every world lit thanks
now you go to 301 ge and all you see is "selling 13 trout"
Best thing to take from this video is how nice people can be on RS to 'noobs'. Quite a nice sentiment.
stout shako for 2 refined
I bought one for 1 ref
Graf I could buy to stranges with those refined
Graf trading 1 scrap for 1 key!!!!
I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS!
but you have 1 fishing...
he bought them in GE, thats what he fucking literally said
rboss0 Rrikkert yeah but the idea is that the little level 14 fishes 13 trouts and decides to sell them for a little gold.
saw some noob selling only 13 trouts the other day. next day in my recommended i see this video.
im the guy alching to the left of you @ 3:01 lolololol
have a sub
What are the odds! Glad to have you on board :)
Bruh! I gave u u 50k... I thought I was legit helping out a noob 😂 u can keep it tho 👌😄
you r a genuinely good person. glad runescape has peps like you
np :) rs would be shit without us haha
People will always help cute noobs because it's the one thing in the game that is genuine, a new player learning. And now even that has turned into a money making scheme
when i clicked this video, i knew something was fishy
riley reid, hmm sounds familiar.
HMMMMMMM
Alexander Garðarsson I was thinking that
Alexander Garðarsson Riley Reid came thru for 20k
About at 5:00, he says «sorry blue, riley came faster»
Kristian i realised too and god famn that was gold xddd
So many youngsters read that comment not getting it 😂
Whatever you do kids, if you google the name, make sure your parents aren’t around 😂😂
You just got scammed out of 13 trout @ 2:34
Kevin Joseif hahahaha that shit got me
hahaha omg
I was about to say that. Was looking for a comment
Oh lol rip that's how I lost 6m
Tomorrow there will be bots spamming "Selling [insert random amount of low level content item here]"
Well probably not tomorrow as you uploaded this 3 days ago xD
When I started playing RS, I was at one point training my farming by picking up flax from the patch north of Taverley. I directly sold this flax to farmer Jones. One more experienced player came up to me and told me I should craft the flax into strings on the spinning wheel for more money and experience. He showed me the way and subsequently randomly gave me 25k. This is how I got to know the generosity of the RS community.
Chaotic Wholesome. Made me genuinely smile that people were so nice, I hope you paid them back though!
"Hey how do I make my first bond?"
Simple - sell 13 trouts.
Xmas came early, gudi is posting again 😍
HEY Good luck this weekend Ian :)
KappaPride
i was held at gunpoint to say to do more vids with soup
Ya know this video is pretty damn hilarious, but it's even nicer to see how generous people can be
I started playing again recently after years away from the game and all the people doing slayer tasks seem to be the nicest people ever.
5:40 rest in peace mac.
whats crazy is u got 2 tracks form rappers who are dead now, X and Mac Miller idk why i find this kinda interesting
ian johnson Whats the Mac Millet track?
@@ambitiouspaul best day ever
ian johnson yeah man it’s crazy
GREAT YOU MADE EVERYONE SKEPTICAL OF NOOB SCAMS!
Dude. I laughed so much watching this. I can't believe how well you did!
I used to play RS as a kid in the early 2000's, and I want to get back into it. I'm glad to see there are people who play that are genuinely nice people!
BEST DAY EVER PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND. RIP MAC MILLER. NEW LOVE FOR YOU BRO
Ronan back on that good video grind ayyyy
Legit salesman doing legit saleswork
Bro I'm Gabe Pvm! I was trying to teach you how to use the G.E. O_O turns out you were getting massive donations instead lol
Haha, I remember. And then that guy told me I needed to speak to 'Manually' in Falador to sell anything other than runes and I ran away.
Hahahah my bad
This is why I love this game. The world's greatest community.
it's so nice when they give him stuff thats like a thousand times the value of the trouts? this game's community is pretty wholesome
scamming Jmod gets possitive feadback. Botting 55-56 rc gets me perma banned. Smh.(it is a joke btw- NOT ironman)
wtf i saw someone selling 13 trout like a week ago i gave him whatever it was worth lol
Havent played osrs for a while but i bet if i logged in right now, i would see someone doing in a lot of worlds.
I swear this is some sort of psychological trick
I was on World of Warcraft just recently on a roleplay server and the guy was selling bread and he was selling the bread at an extremely low amount like 25 copper or something so it wasn't even much more than it would cost for me to buy bread from a vendor
but I think if someone gives you something you feel obligated to compensate them for what they are offering you and for their time and other people see this and think the player must need money.
If they were a real noob, they would be in front of varrock castle like I did
this ruins for the noob players
change title to: how to make a bond in 1 hour
best day ever, I was leveling my mage at the wizard tower and someone gave me: 1 mil gold, and like 1000 chaos, water, mind runes and 10-15 nature and law runes. I didn't even ask for anything or nothing. Bless that man where ever you are
I think I saw that happen... did the dude have darkened infinity robes
You sir, are welcome
What a classic this is
I haven't laughed as hard as I did watching this in a long time. Thanks.
I see you are a hiphop fan. Pretty cool hearing those instrumentals coming from someone over the bay
whats the instrumental hes playing?
MadBulletz idk the first one. Second is J Cole-everbody dies, third is Mac Miller- Best day Ever bonus track
Taylor Hurst First one is from Vice City-XXXTentacion
ruined my money making guide smh
Adrian Sicilia too many beggars these days. I don't think any of them make much like they used to
Next hr...
W 301 is now doing it.
Thanks ronan Kappa
BlackDudeWithLongNeck damn is that your real neck that shit longgg
Ay man thank you using that Mac beat halfway in. Never heard his music in a vid before. Much love.
Think the ‘adorable noob outfit’ is the most hilarious part.
Wonder how many tens of thousands of people went out to sell 13 trouts after watching this.
