They didn't sample Castlevania for "Crossroad", it was Eternal Champions, a fighting game for Sega Genesis lol. They also sampled it on "Eternal" from the same album.
Flesh wasnt on the East 1999 cover but he was in the picture on the inside in back of the disc…and he was also on the East 1999 single cover
Bone should work on re-releasing E.1999 with Flesh. New Cover and all the songs flesh was in
I been thinking about that and I think they will do that when they get there master back soon
My sentiments exactly; and It'll definitely be worth the investment. I think there's financial benefits associated in re-recording. Ashanti explained the process in an interview recently. Artist get larger percentages/ cuts, cutting out the "middle man" and actually owning their music.
I would buy that shit in a second
That would be soo cool
That would be dope
I'm so pissed they took Flesh off all them songs man, he's always been one of my favourites and that mystic flow is ridiculous... Would've loved to hear more of him on E. 1999 Eternal and The Art of War.
Me to. I always wondered why he was only always only on a few songs. He was raw on Crept And We Came
His flow was something else. His flow was like M 134 minigun in change the world. He nailed it in all original that has slow beats, Everyday thang, east 99, just to mention this few.
Perhaps those verses will surface one day. I’d love to hear them.
I liked him on E.1999/Eternal but after that when he started whispering and rapping off beat I couldn’t get with it
@@mrhoward19801 same always wondered why he changed it
Flesh was the most vicious lyrically in bone. Dude was weapon X. Trues humbly united gathering souls, till this day is my favorite album. I was a freshman in high school when that album launched. Greatest years of my life. Thank you Flesh, for the great music, and memories.
my favorite bizzy but I might agree with u. Flesh was a lyrical and story telling monster they all was but when flesh rapped it just made u feel how he was feeling on some tupac shii. and T.H.U.G.S. in my opinion only had a few good songs but his second album STACK THE 5TH DOG was dope. Flesh was a monster.
Hes dope but Bizzy aint nothing to play with my g
@@97sveryown63 He's dope but Krayzie Bone is better.
Not to sound like a nerd but it wasnt castlevania. It was eternal champs 😂😂
They all dope in their own... Together they re fkn mighty asf. Fuck yeah....I remember copping creeping on a come up the day it was released.
I would love to hear his “1st of the month” verse
He preaching. Those higher ups and execs don’t want someone with knowledge and intellect calling them out or leading the group
naw they don't want someone on PCP with guns leading a group. Had nothing to do with "oh he too intellectual".
@@urbanflavorz even that. That couldn't control him. His mouth was strong. Drugs or not.
@@gratefulsam damn his mouth was STRONG
@@urbanflavorzfacts, he was a dope fiend..
When I first heard him on Foe Da Love of $ I was an instant fan and hated that I didnt hear him on more records.
Flesh is very underated,...A style unmatched. Sounds like a record playing backwards! Who else sounds like that? Nobody!
Believe it or not, PAC had that backwards sounding flow on E40 song dusted and disgusted, check it out.
Speaking of this, have you ever heard his verse on "two hits and pass" by II Tru? Lol that shit was nuts
I ran into flesh at harrahs Kansas City after the BTNH show walking threw the casino. Also wish and layzie later on in the night
That’s exactly how he sound wonder if he was conscious of that
T.H.U.G.S. was a fantastic album. I had the cassette when it came out my junior year of high school. Still a classic.
Real talk flesh is the spirit of Bone thug's music love this interview
The game wasn't Castlevania, it was Eternal Champions on Sega Genesis. They sampled a few songs off of that game. Another one was called "Eternal"... it was clever actually, E. 1999 Eternal and they sampled Eternal Champions.
What song from Eternal Champions was sampled for OG Crossroads?
@@jameshatton3293 The ending. And "Eternal" sampled the Character Bio screen music.
One day rented thus game out with my older cousin n friend.
When i heard the music in it we geeked out... lol
Yass very clever on bone and the producer.
Now you got me trying to connect it … I’m not hearing the Eternal tho
@@mercurysdaughter ua-cam.com/video/vbrkMN73mHs/v-deo.html listen this from the game and see if u can tell.
BTNHResurrection IS FLESH ALBUM HE WENT CRAZY ON THERE ☠️
I feel some of his solo projects were blackballed because his first solo release THUG was so good I feel that project should have easily gone platinum.
I will definitely be buying the book 📖
Flesh bone was the spirit of bone thugs and the essence, the best 👌 one to me...the best rapper out of the group, but I liked all them, but Flesh style was amazing 👏
Release them tracks Flesh. That ish be mean!
The sample was from Eternal Champions, as well as the song Eternal, which is funny with the game having the word Eternal in it
We need this full interview
Flesh was on a version of Crossroads and he was on Everyday thang and Shoot em up both of which, should've been on that E.1999 album.
Shoot'em Up is a classic but it doesn't really fit the eerie vibe E. 1999 had (imo)
@tj5579 that's why I was glad it made it to a soundtrack instead. The Great White Hype soundtrack to be exact.
Big Flesh-N-Bone Nuff Said 💯
his album T.H.U G.S is slept on its so dope
If he was signed to def jam then officially/legally he wasn’t a part of the group but we all know he is part of bone regardless of contracts 🔥
No he wasnt in the group its not that Eazy didnt want him he wasnt in the group then
He wasn't signed to Def Jam during E99 recording sessions, most of E99 was recorded in 94 early 95. He wasn't signed with Def Jam during AoW recording sessions. He had a 50/50 deal with DJ for the release of THUGS in 96. He was still apart of the group the entire time. Tomica and Sony took him off those songs. Just like taking Silk-E-Fyne off Thug Luv and changing the beat up and adding the rest of Bone and telling Bizzy fuxk off this song isn't your solo song anymore. Rush Associated Labels was a subsidiary label from Def Jam, like Geffon Records was a subsidiary of Interscope. Def Jam handled the distribution of THUGS.
He is definitely the foundation
@@f..kingf..k Wrong about Art of War, he was with Def Jam during that time. Every song he had on AOW it says in the credits "Flesh-N-Bone appears courtesy of Def Jam." His second album 5th Dog Let Loose was originally called Book of T.H.U.G.S. and was supposed to be on DJ and released in 1998 but he got dropped bc of his legal troubles.
I remember so many rumors circulating around back then about Flesh.. was he a member? Was he not? I do believe Flesh was on a lot of songs back then.. hell if you listen close, you can hear his background vocals on a lot of their choruses, even if he didnt have a verse (or had a verse cut) on the song
Legally no, he never signed with the group.
Now I admit I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I’ve heard the reason Flesh was removed was because he was signed to Def Jam and not Ruthless, but I’m not sure how all the contracts worked back then
Yeah I was under that impression for many years. Guess it's most complicated
On the AOW it would say Flesh appears courtesy of Def jam on the songs so yeah it’s a tricky one
No flesh signed that deal later.....flesh actually didn't want bone to sign to ruthless, him and layzie got into an argument and flesh beat him up....after they squashed it, flesh signed to def jam because ruthless refuse to sign him ....I heard even eazy e didn't want to sign him, saw him as a liability.....flesh was causing trouble, was on sherm, shirt temper, short fuse.....mental problems etc ....but eventually yes he did sign to mo thug records and def jam, but that was AFTER the fact of the rest of the four signing to ruthless
Depends on when he signed to DJ. We know before E1999 was released they had already planned for him to be the first to go solo.
The first crossroads song was sampled from the " Eternal Champions" game on Sega Genesis...let there be correction. 💯
Yes it's from Eternal champions I have always known that ever since I heard the crossroads songs me and my cousin used to play that game on Sega Genesis and we would go on all the soundtracks to the video games that we played on because some of them had some nice Beats.
@@reginaldriggins3270 Yep me and my cousin used to play the hell out of that game too back in the 90s. "Land of the Heartless" was also sampled from Eternal Champions also. Those were the days for real.
@@bomajesty2277 What song did they sample for "Land Of The Heartless"??? I always knew about the other two joints, but not that one.
@@MetalGearEeezus The " land of the heartless " song was sampled from the Eternal Champions game also
@@MetalGearEeezus But I forget which part of the game the song was at..
OG FLESH-N-BONE#1
We need a book of BTNH or docu series all four of these members are beyond talented and have a testimony to tell from Bizzy,Krayzie,Layzie,Wish, and Flesh
Its 5 ..what about Wish?
@D 1 I forgot about him lol 😆
I just thought that Flesh was never officially signed to Ruthless so that's why he signed with Def Jam.
Flesh wasn't signed with DJ. Rush Associated Labels handled the 50/50 deal with DJ. DJ handled the distribution for his solo album. He was always apart of Bone thugs. Also he was the only one who didn't sign with Eazy.
Ruthless wasn't gonna sign that nigga he was literally acting CRAZY from wat I hear ha .....they said he would lose his temper and just completely DESTROY the studio and they would have to have security get him out
I wanted to hear the whole group on all of the songs.
I was salty as a young Bone I'm like did Flesh leave I still love Bone but you ask me the best BROTHERHOOD L.O.X Still. Rocking no ego's but man give us one more album together Bone 🙌 🙏
You cant say u BONE THUGS fan and simultaneously be discriminating on their styles as individuals... Because if you look at it.. their always at their Greatest when they share an album or performance as a complete group.
I know this firsthand as it used to bother me when one BONE wouldn't be featured on a project but I would still appreciate the songs or albums..
Till this day I give EAZY-E props credit n love for introducing BONE THUGS N HARMONY to the world. They're an amazing group and they will always be at their best Together.
Flesh’s verse on the remix of the remix was dope. I like that version best
I can tell he still reads regularly.
Flesh was never Ruthless Record.. He was in a bigger label.. DefJam Recordings
Sir dont try too dis RUTHLESS
@@T..1147 I aint dissing ruthless. I'm stating facts. Def Jam was a bigger label. They had way more hot artists.. You talking about the Beastie Boys, EPMD, LL Cool J, Warren G, Run-DMC, etc... just to name a few.. If you're talking about dissing ruthless then flesh is hating on them.
Facts
He wasn't signed with Def Jam he had a 50/50 deal for T.H.U.G.S. He was with the group the entire time. He wasn't signed with Ruthless. Flesh never signed a contract.
@@bnyang84 - Overall Def Jam is more successful no question. But in the mid-90's no one on Def Jam were outselling Bone Thugs. Also, just coming off NWA and Eazy's solo album, Ruthless were a hotter label than Def Jam during that era. The kids weren't bumping much Run DMC in the 90's. Most of the artists you name dropped were hot 10 years prior. Warren G being the exception.
Lot of people sleeping on Flesh. He was most underrated out of the entire group.

Artist are re-recording albums now; and it's benefits to doing so after a certain amount of years. Imagine Bone re-releasing E.1999 with those original Flesh verses included. That would be amazing.
If they do that I will rebuy all that ish
What do you mean by re recordings? You mean that they go back to the studio and re do all the songs??
@@97sveryown63 Indeed; for some type of publishing benefits and intellectual properties. Imagine that though; Bone rebuilding from scratch. Recording the process could easily lead to a Netflix, Hulu or any type of deal(s). Then again, this whole “NFT” stuff could take everything to the next level.
I had dude's album on cassette. That shit with B.G. Knoccout was my fucking jam.
I first found out about Flesh from eazy e documentary , I didnt know bone had a 5th member , he was only on creeping album cover ,even though he was free , fresh is like the underdog of bone or sacrificial lamb
REALLY FOR ME IT JUST MADE FLESH THAT MUCH MORE MYSTERIOUS AND APPEALING. T.H.U.G.S. ALBUM WAS A MASTERPIECE. LOVE THE RE-RECORDING IDEA THO
When he says “these people “ I think he means Tamika Wright. She’s bad business
He was not part of the group, even with the first album they were saying he was going solo and had his own deal. Plus he was on PCP (Sherm) and would snap at any moment.
Flesh wasn't signed to Ruthless but he was always part of the group regardless of contracts and his PCP habit.
To not be allowed to participate in Your group is crazy..
Big Stack fan!! Thanks for the interview 💯
Always wanted him and Twista to go hard on some cuts
I was glad to hear him on the song paper. After all the slowing down and about 2000 rewinds I finally got his verse down and can spit it with no flaws 😅
Love you stack stay up my dude
Flesh is right, I remember when e.1999 came out and everyone wondered why flesh wasn’t on the cover, but he was in the photo inside under the clear cd jewel case.
But there was so much odd stuff that happened with bone & ruthless back then, it was a huge shock when eazy died. And unfortunately when eazy died so did ruthless records. Bone kept doing their thing, but ruthless did them no favors.
Shout out to FLEASH for doing what you do. Always about the BRAND. Wish i could pick his brain and just sit back and listen to him talk.
THUGS is the best solo Bone album I'll still die on that hill
You might be right. Heaven's Movie was too short, and Thug Mentality had too much filler.
Great video 👍👌👏😊☺️
I’m so pissed they took him off it’s makes me upset
I am pissed too!!! All of this after Eazy E passed.
It wasn't Castlevania they sampled. It was Eternal champions on Sega Genesis
Being a huge fan of bone thugs, I always wished that all five of them had verses on all the tracks on all the albums.
This the great prince nimroy I’m digging this show fam
He the one that went to Cali and told them they need to get out there
Flesh is the realest nigga in bone 💪🏾💙💯
1:10 eternal champions on sega genesis
I got a full scholarship, now i see why i gravitate to flesh the most
1krayzie Bone
2flesh n Bone
3Lazy Bone
4Bizzy Bone
5Wish Bone
Bizzy is easily 2nd or 3rd flesh is definitely top 3 in the group
As a kid i always thought it was the 4 of them (only ever saw the music videos from E. 1999 era and Strength & Loyalty era). It wasn't until I got older and looked them up did I learn about Flesh N Bone and was shocked that there was a 5th member.
Flesh was taken off of a handful of songs from Eternal and he was on more songs on Art Of War.
Man I ain't know the original Crossroads was a Castlevania sample!
It was actually Eternal champions a sega game
@@retroesso oh ok. I knew they did it for Eternal. But didn't know about the original Crossroads. Flesh must've forgot to he didn't correct him lol
It was Eternal Champions.
He wasn’t on the Eternal cover but he’s on the pic behind the cd.
There is a rare photo that's online right now that shows flesh at tha crossroads video shoot.... but he is nowhere in the video.
They feared his brains not his thug mentality
He needs to do his old verses on those tracks and release it.
They sampled the game Eternal Legends
Damn I been a Bone fan since they came out in the 90’s and I never knew this about Flesh. I always wonder where he was. Hell I thought he got locked up in 96 or 97
He was ALWAYS locked up ....it was a constant.....he was in and out of jail all in the mid 90s....it was just in 2000 when his got his LONG stretch
During bones first three albums he appeared on 10 songs his first major contribution didn’t come till 2000’s BTNH Resserection where he appeared on 75%of that album krayzie bone bar far is the best lyrically unmatched and can torch any mc past or present day his flow and singing capabilities make one of the best lyricists to touch a mic flesh ain’t no slouch either there is no weak link in bone
Exactly, on the groups earlier albums he was like a part time member of the group/featured guest, even though he always part of the group since day 1.
Why not release the full Version now of the songs
I wonder if the powers that be had a hand in Flesh getting locked up
He always made sure he got camera time
Flesh~n~Bone was my hero I wanted be like him the most his flow his T.H.U.G.S I played daily and bought an extra I case it scratched before but I had the tape and I studied him Bizzy an Krazie. But Flesh was one of my all time till this day I dump his stuff in my mix and his new stuff “Long Live The Flesh!”
Flesh verse on East 1999 was bonkers
And Buddha lovas
Damn, I thought he was in jail the whole time
When is that Flesh Book droppin?
5th Dogg Let Loose!!!!!!!!!!!
@1:10 the sample that was used in the original crossroads was from video game Eternal champions (sega genesis) not castlevania
Flesh “You Know” Bone
Woah! They used the castlevania beat for crossroads????? Which castlevania game? cuz am huge fan of the games
He had a verse on Battlezone that got taken off.
He wanted to say he's the best in the group so bad but he aint want to hurt nobody feelings.
The original Crossroads and Eternal both had samples from a Sega Genesis game called Eternal Champions.
Dude Tryin His Best To Get Him To 🤫 So He Can Continue Askin 💩 Yea Right Yep Ugh Huh
No disrespect, but Flesh and Bizzy are the most unique of Bone. Their rap style can't be imitated to this very day.
Krazy....
I'm from Cleveland flesh was locked up to much most us luv bizzy flow but he always doing something wish bone & Lazy was always in hood I seen bizzy riding on Quincy in 96 or 97 I was a kid but Krazy bone sold the most records and is most popular outside Cleveland
Absolutely agree! Always said this. BB and Flesh are the most unique. And they always have the best chemistry in songs when working together. Especially in Resurrection!
@@LFiers Best chemistry in songs? Man legit Krazy write every melody and hook he is the mastermind.
@@Slimgod89 Not sure where you got that from but that's incorrect. Kray never wrote anything but his own stuff. Bizzy and Flesh write all their own melodies and rhymes. And yeah, best chemistry in songs. Bizzy and Flesh sound the best when they're rapping together. Kray and Bizzy sounded dope together back on the day like on Die Die Die but I prefer Flesh and BB on Resurrection then Kray and BB on New Waves. Although In My Way was dope! That's how New Waves should have sounded like

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Yes, indeed. 🔥
Flesh go over people heads...but u can feel his talent on resurrection...and if u cant feel it on there, then you just dont know music and yo opinion dont count anyway
His verse on "Show 'Em" is my favorite Flesh verse, hands down 💯
they sampled 2 songs from Eterenal Champions

Uncle Stack ! Ayee FBG GOIN GLOBAL WATCH THE PROCESS !!!.. #THELEGACY #TRUMAFF
Flesh. N bone. I wanna hear that shizz
They sampled Eternal champions not castlevania
The beat for the first crossroads came from eternal champions
I wonder why the credits just used to say “Bone” in the album booklets. Not their individual real names, just straight up “Bone” 😂
Well Legendary Flesh n Bone was neva signed to Ruthless Records he might not been on a few Big Songs but when he did tha album :BTNH RESSURRECTION he was mostly on all of them just wasnt in tha videos he must went to jail when it all came out...
