The entire album "Love Over Gold" is excellent. Even the worst song from this album, the first one on the second side of the vinyl - "Industrial Desease" - is worth every penny. In addition, the studio version has enormous dynamics, impossible to achieve at a concert. The entire album is the highest achievement in Dire Straits' career.
One of my favorite albums (which I think of as an EP) with Telegraph Road and Industrial Disease being my two personal faves...Thanks once again, JK, for another perfect selection...
A great Xmas gift for NicknLex and the rest of the channel🎄🎄 You can never go wrong with Mark Knopfler a great musicians and lyricist with a huge soul.
The whole album is genius. The next and last track, “It Never Rains,” takes on a very different vibe. Mark is apparently a little miffed at someone. Hard to decipher. But the icing is the guitar solo in the last 3.5 minutes or so… among his best of any album.
Knew you would like this Nick! A very peaceful song, fitting for this time of year. Outstanding production - not familiar with these musicians, but they are incredible. I’ve been occasionally trying to convert you regarding The Rolling Stones. I know a song for you and Lex that may do the trick!
Great choice - thanks, JK! And, Nick, I happen to be in the camp that thinks Knopfler is a phenomenal guitarist and there is nothing at all wrong with his vocals. This album is top notch!
Thank you for this good reaction. I like the fact that he sings like he does. It dosen`t have to be in the upper registers. This soft singing can be can also be powerful. I just listened to the the album he did with Chet Atkins. Don`t miss that one.
The best track from one of the finest albums of 1982, which was a year CHOCK FULL of outstanding LPs. Nick (and Lex) - you need to hear this whole LP, as well as Knopfler's soundtrack to the movie Local Hero.
Total agreement with you about this band! If you ever have a chance there are many videos of Mark and Eric Clapton playing together live, from the late 80s to the mid 90s.
Hola! Una banda que nos hizo poner los pies en la tierra en una época nueva para nosotros, saliendo de un oscuro congelamiento social. Muchas gracias! Saludos desde Temperley, BsAs.
Hahaha. Anyone who doesn't like Knopfler has a screw loose 😉. That, or is filled by utter jealousy of the man's genius. Lol. Master and virtuoso. The ratio of lovers to haters falls mostly to the former. Also, it's obviously subjective so that's fine of course. There will never be another band like Dire Straits. Anyone who wastes time on music they "hate" is a weird thing. Strange indeed. It's an art form. Another great reaction dude
There was one song on this album that Mark felt was too "feminine" and he decided to offer it to a certain Tina Turner. The title was Private Dancer, the rest is history.
. Gracias por compartirla!
Shame you didn’t do this reaction with Alex. She would have loved this. Surely one of the most beautiful songs ever created by Mark and his band. It is an absolute classic. I know he and the band are known for so many great hits but this track, to me, is a masterpiece. It lives within me since the first day I bought the vinyl on its release. Telegraph Road is a masterpiece Of course, but this track transcends it for me. Personal opinion.
@@NicknLex I am doing good as well and for next video or marathon can you react to deadmau5 i remember its pronounced deadmouse and i prefer doing the vocal mix version because that is the unmixed version and another one you can react to is zero 7 warm sound live version so i hope those are good suggestions and i hope you guys have a good night
Distinct, I can always pick out a Mark Knopfler song. He is one of the greats. One every street is one of my favorites!

This is from and the title of a great album. Only 5 songs, but very satisfying.

Should listen back to back with Tina Turner's Private Dancer (written by Mark Knopfler)

There’ll Be Some Changes Made is a dang funny song.
JK-very mellow with the fireplace going and hot cocoa
Sounds good!
This was a treat!! Thank you JK! ❤
Thanks @JK Don't know this one. But now I do thanks to you and Nick!👍👍
You’re welcome! Great album, underrated.
I love this album. Though others are great, this remains my favourite.

Anyone who would "brush off" Mark Knopfler doesn't really appreciate music...
Exactly!!!!

What a wonderful track, indeed
Is anyone else as good on the nylon strings as him, so melodic ?

But is is also Dire Straits playing on Private Dancer, except for Mark, Jeff Beck plays the solo, but the rest of the track is all Dire Straits
Hey, Hey.... 113k 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'm sure Bach and Mozart had their critics too. No accounting for taste or lack of it.

Can't believe I'm actually "liking" a song from Dire Straits...but the instrumental music of the majority of this song were very good
Hey Nicknlex it’s been a long time sence I been here how are u both
