This live performance is pure magic-emotion pouring from the stage and the crowd completely enthralled. A masterpiece that touches the soul. What did this performance mean to you?
ITS pure magic to me, a walk beyond the universe.
Too beautiful for words !!! Mark is a gift to this world. How lucky he shared his genius with us.
@@SamKnause Yes, yes, yes. His lyrics and guitar 🎸 mastery here is sublime. Thanks for watching 👍
This is such an amazing song❤so emotionally. I cannot see that someone is not being emotional during this performance. Dire straits is phenomonal, and Mark is very special as you said. Very important song for me personal. I love hearing it even though it makes me emotional. Nice honest reaction, thank you
Thank you for sharing your personal connection to this performance. The 1992 live rendition in Rotterdam truly brings out the emotional depth of Brothers in Arms. Mark Knopfler's heartfelt playing and the band's synergy create a powerful atmosphere that's hard to resist. Dire Straits are phenomenal. I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction-thank you for your kind words! ❤🎸
It's impossible for anyone not to be emotionally connected to this wonderful performance.
Absolutely! Performances like this transcend music. It’s a testament to the power of Mark Knopfler’s artistry . Truly unforgettable!
‘Brothers in Arms’ cuts deep on so many levels-it’s not just a song; it’s an emotional journey. Only Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits could deliver this masterpiece with such raw, heartfelt precision, especially live on stage. The way the music and lyrics intertwine to speak about war, sacrifice, and humanity is nothing short of soul-stirring. Watching them perform this in front of an audience is a reminder of how truly special and timeless this band is. Thank you Larry.
@@riocorrespondant7797 Thank you brother. I couldn’t agree more. MK and DS never disappoint! Thanks for sharing the nice words.
It gets me every time. I shed a tear for the millionth time. No words really for this masterpiece. Genius stuff. Amazing emotional reaction. Seeing this live back in 1992 and actually being there will stay with me forever. Well done Larry. Next up is 'You and your friend' same gig. Cheers dude.
Welcome back Fordie, It’s incredible how a song like Brothers in Arms can bring out such deep emotions every time. Seeing it live must have been life-changing-what a memory to hold onto! I’ll definitely check out You and Your Friend next. Cheers to you too!
Great reaction! I've heard this song hundreds or thousands of times and it still moves me, I always end up shedding a tear. God bless you.
Love your user name, a true fan. Thanks for the support and may god bless you too!
Mr knopler always surrounded him self with the right and best musician geniuses he's amazing 👏
@@vincentkerr1819 All eras of DS are amazing, but I found MK’s guitar work in this performance a cut above. Spectacular. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for your beautiful and honest reaction Larry. I've listened to this song for hundreds of times and it still brings tears in my eyes, and I'm not even a veteran. This entire concert is beautiful and the sound from Mark's Pensa guitar is from outer space. If you like this guitar sound, you should probably check "You and your friend" from the same concert. Beautiful solos from Mark and Paul Franklin on the steel guitar. By the way, nice beach at your place. Take care!
Thank you for the kind words! Brothers in Arms has a way of touching the soul no matter who you are. it’s timeless. I’ll def check out You and Your Friend from the same concert; sounds like another emotional masterpiece with that shocking/stunning guitar work. Glad you liked the beach vibes too. Always a good place to reflect. Take care! 🌊🎸
@@llarose I second the You and Your Friend recommendation.
The sound of Mark's guitar coming back in after the beautiful pedal steel solo.... sublime.. could listen to that piece over and over all evening ..
Couldn't agree more! The sound, the mood...everything, following and leading up to the organ and steel guitar. Sensational MK stuff. Hats off to the other players too.
Its emotional just listening to this song, but when it was released along with the award winning video it had an even more profound effect.
@@gordonyoung1970 I haven’t seen it but can imagine. Tomorrow I’ll be watching the groundbreaking CGI ‘Money for Nothing’ video here on the channel. Pls stay tuned. Cheers, Larry
This is one of many of my fave performances. This whole concert actually is mind blowing. Private Investigations, Calling Elvis and You And Your Friend are just some of the highlights...in fact they're all highlights. I went to 4 of their concerts on this On Every Street Tour in November '91in Australia and it feels like it was yesterday. The sound check quality was something to be heard. I distinctly remember Mark's guitars and especially John's Bass literally went right through my body in an awesome way.
Love your channel. Cheers all the best from Australia
👍🎸🎸🎸
Thank you for sharing your amazing experience! Seeing Dire Straits live\-four concerts, wow! I can only imagine how incredible it felt to have the sound of Mark’s guitar and John’s bass resonate through you. Thanks for the kind words about the channel-cheers from here in Rio to Australia! 🎸👍
@llarose Cheers mate. Been following Mark's career from 1978 to present. Just released his 10th solo album this year.
Can't believe how big his catalogue is. So many hours of listening pleasure and joy. Hope your channel grows and wishing you a very happy holiday season.
Stay safe 😎😎
If you are going to talk all over this beautiful, heartfelt famous original song by one of the world's very finest groups I'm outa here!
@@willswomble7274 Thank you for your kind feedback.
Epic.
@chrisbanks5925 indeed. Amazing performance.
Thanks for your wonderful reaction. This song always moves me. It came out prior to my enlistment and was with me my entire service. It moves me even more now with three of my children currently serving in the war here and losing brothers in arms in battles. Mark has always shown respect to those who serve and defend their countries, while criticizing war itself. Check out his solo songs: “Piper to the End” and “Done with Bonaparte”. Both written from the perspective of a soldier.
Thank you for sharing such a personal connection to this song-it gives it an even deeper resonance. MK’s ability to honor the sacrifices of soldiers while reflecting on the tragedy of war is truly profound. I can only imagine how much this song means to you with your children currently serving. I’ll definitely look into Piper to the End and Done with Bonaparte. Wishing you and your family strength and safety. 🙏
I remember listening to this driving through Ukrainian farmland earlier this year.. felt really surreal.
Whoah, I could imagine. Thanks for sharing.
I bought brothers in arms cd in 1985 when it came out so I have been listening to this song for quite some while now but watching it live is so different and I'm sure that I am not alone in saying that the eyes get a bit damp
Thank you for sharing your long connection to Brothers in Arms! There's something magical about experiencing a live performance of a song you've cherished for decades. Seeing the musicians pour their emotions into it on stage brings an entirely new depth. You're definitely not alone-it's a powerful piece that touches so many hearts. Thanks for keeping its spirit alive!
Definitely picked the best version to react to
I literally randomly picked it, (got lucky) and you're right. It's a sublime recording. The film crew used different angles and shots of MK & band members was outstanding. The music recording spoke for itself. Perfection.
I cry every time mate... When the lap steel guitar comes in.. i lose it
@@aaronherbison7316 The keyboards/organ leading up to the steel guitar with MK doing his thing is total sensory overload. Thanks for sharing.
There is nothing Knofler could not do with a guitar. I was privileged to see him perform live many years ago. Totally self efacing, but it hid a talent beyond compare.
@@williamprice4673 Is it just me or was the guitar work on this song a cut above his normal amazingness? Thanks for sharing.
@llarose 1:10 if you did a bitbof.military, it's extra extra special.
If you did some time in the military or worked as anything in a war zone, it's extra extra special. I suspect Knofler has some kind of affinity with the military. He could not have written this song without that.
@ I agree, he seems to have this topic well covered or well researched. Somebody mentioned he had a close friend that gave him this concept firsthand. Either way, it’s brilliant.
-We can see a classic scene with this song, on the TV show "Miami Vice" in the 1980's, (in last scene of the episode: 'Out Where the Buses Don't Run')
MV is one of my all time favs. They used the music from that era perfectly. Fun fact: Jeff Beck's keyboardist, Jan Hammer produced and played the opening theme music. Thanks for sharing. I'll going to go take a look.
If there ever was an 8th wonder of the world then it wears a white t-shirt black headband and plays a pensur suhr custom guitar 🥺
@@corbe1970ify Great comment! No argument here.
No weep, no feel. This song was both a protest and a celebration of war and fallen comrades. Despite being about the Falklands war, it could be applied to all wars around the world, the stupidity and the devastation it causes, the pain and the unnecessary loss.
@@olisipocity Absolutely on point. Thanks for sharing 👏👏👏
Brothers in Arms and High Hopes by Pink Floyd are two of the best songs in my opinion at extracting emotion from the listener.
Brothers in Arms truly excels at drawing out raw emotion with its heartfelt lyrics and moving melody. I'll def. check out High Hopes. So much PF to get to as well. . Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
TumaniYO, Dekanzo - Boom ragga band Знаменитый балаган. Reaction!
It seems like you're pointing toward a lively and eclectic piece with TumaniYO, Dekanzo - Boom ragga band (Знаменитый балаган)
🥹emotional
not a fan of jfk he started the shit show . they obviously were not either after he got wiped out
Interesting take! The line about "fools to make war on our brothers in arms" could certainly reflect warmongering leadership. Dire Straits often balanced poignant criticism with emotional resonance. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
@@llarose yeah well it was arrogance from jfk(u mentioned Vietnam) but yes war to war. bros in arms' I think it means both your own people and your enemies and we neednt even do war. after what 60 plus years of peace putin decides to make war on ukraine. its just power tripping
