The Lonesome Spur is a fifth generation, working cattle ranch lying in the Clarks Fork Valley, between the Pryor and Beartooth Mountains. In the twilight of our long summer evenings, you can waste plenty of time gazing off to the west at the snow-capped grandeur of the Rocky Mountains, and listening to the lonely howl of the coyote.

This brought back some awesome memories. I remember how elated I was to be going to spend the summer at this ranch. It always was my dream to work on a ranch and the day of my 17th birthday I hopped on a plane and flew up. That was the summer of 1966. It was a summer that will always be embedded in my heart as the Schwind family took in a pure, young and reckless city slicker like me in and did nothing but show love and heart to me. My summer didn't last as long as I wanted but it is one on the best I've had in my now 69 years. My heart will always be THANKFUL

Scott, wonderful comment. I was a guest at the Lonesome Spur, back in 2016. I've been to Montana 4 times, and I will be going back in a week. I fell in love with Montana while visiting for the first time in 2012. Ha ha, thus my UA-cam name, Stuck In NY.
