FD Road Atlanta - WE'RE BACK! But am I Ready?

- This is a different vibe of content that we are trying to see if you guys enjoy it. I usually talk a ton and have super simple edits, but we wanted to try and have something a little more hype to match my style.
Formula Drift Road Atlanta didn't quite go as planned. Practice was amazing, but during qualifying we were plagued with some power related issues. We were still able to qualify with an 83pt run and the team fixed the car in minutes after the issue. Saturday started off with some steering issues that we fixed quickly and then some brake issues that again the team remedied fast. But my first full lap of the day was in top 32. The car ran great during those runs, we got a 1 more time, and ended up winning the battle. Top 16 against Matt, we had a misfire that remedied itself leaving IC1, but I was charging too hard up the hill and made contact with Matt, giving him the win. I layed down a heater lead for the show in hopes to gain some points back from my mistake OR hope that the judges saw that the mistake was influenced by Matt. Didn't go that way and we were out in 16. 7 rounds to go, and all the little issues worked out, so we are ready to for OSW in 10 days!

The conversations with other drivers and tech is super interesting and the B-roll shots are on point!
I would recommend including at least one full battle and doing an outro about how the competition went. Maybe that’s not the right thing too because this was sweet and concise.

The only reason field looked good on that chase run is because you absolutely SLAYED the Keyhole ALL DAY!!!!! Your line was insanely chaseable. I can’t wait to see you in two weeks in FL. Best of luck then and for the season and thanks for this badass in-depth look at the magic that is you!
Sucked for you in the top 16 man, but that lead run was damn incredible. It was quite obvious how much harder you were going compared to everyone else. The density and volume of the smoke was unreal!
Its because they are on a different tire compund because of the new rules
@@crazy.6469 well that may be but my point still stands. His lead run in top 16 was nuts because he made a mistake in his chase run, and knew he needed to go as wild as possible. Even compared to his other runs, and VG Jr all day, that lead top 16 run was amazing.

@@erimei8478 right?!? Thats not at all discounting everyone else, they were ripping as well. But the angle, speed, tire speed, smoke volume and density, etc was all about as good as it can get.

You did really good at Atlanta it sucked you had to face Matt Field so early who was the top qualifier and ended up getting second overall but you put up one hell of a fight and did an awesome lead run. On a positive note you are above Chris Forsberg on the current standings so that's a win lol. On to Orlando this ones all you!

Hey i mean theres no shame in losing to the best driver of the weekend, matt was just looking like a different beast the whole weekend. But i do agree with that part where you were talking about some certain drivers e-braking on the rumble strips heavily on initiation and getting really close to the initiation cone and holding it all the way to the grass and then transitioning uphill which leaves you not a whole lot of room as a chase to get very close. Also it may just be me but it felt like 90% of the reason a lot of drivers lost last weekend was because of a miscalculation of some sort on initiation, i felt a most of the bracket drove great the rest of the course but that initiation really had a great impact more on this track than i thought it would have. But hey its was a great weekend and i look forward to seeing some great comp next weekend 🤙
Yea. I wish everyone just did what was asked of us in the drivers meeting. Full throttle from IC1 to OZ1... Aasbo, Tuerck, and I were pretty much the only ones doing what they specifically asked for... and guess what, we offered great leads for chases.,,
@@chelseadenofa yea dude totally, Tuerck and Aasbo were not appying as much e-brake on initiation to IC1 and were getting on throttle much much faster than a lot of other drivers who were not on throttle past IC1 and excessively holding the e-brake. And if you look at past years at FD at Atlanta, the drivers would apply a little amount of e-brake before IC1 and then pour on some angle and then and get on throttle BEFORE IC1 so the chase would have enough room to adapt and have room to chase like everyone is SUPPOSED to do when they are leading but this year a lot of drivers were doing that hold the e-brake as much as possible thing and then not get back on throttle immediately after IC1 and sort of float the car transitioning to OZ1. it really should have been a deduction of some sort for that but i guess not. Very few drivers this past weekend actually initiated correctly and i guess since most of the drivers were doing the excessive e-brake pull to IC1 and not being on throttle past IC1 the judges just didnt say anything about it at all. I kept noticing drivers like Adam LZ, Justin Pawlak, Dean Kearney and even Matt Field holding the e-brake for a extremely excessive amount of time and I feel like the judges should have said something to the drivers before the top 16 about the excessive amount of e-braking and drivers needing to be on full throttle From IC1 to OZ1. Also Chelsea can you explain to me why Aasbo lost to Jeff Jones in the top 16 ???? because Aasbo had a way better lead and chase then jeff jones but for some reason the judges UNANIMOUSLY decided Jeff Jones won. I know it could have been something with Aasbo making a little correction up the hill or something with Aasbo losing a part on track but to me it looks like it didnt affect his run at all. Im not like an Aasbo fanboy trying to defend him all the time but i really didnt understand one bit why he lost in this instance, Maybe you could explain it to me ?

Is it some kinda bad thing for you guys to ride the rev limiter or something? That’s what it seemed like at the end. I’m sure rebuilds on a roush Yates motor is pretty spendy but ya’ll are the biggest team out there! Spend it if ya got it lol
They have to have the correct limiter to keep it alive.
Atlanta is such a rad track, but it seems like it isn’t fun for comp.

I enjoy watching drifting but I just can't get over the fact that judging comes into play with determining the winner. If there was a way that just performance determined the winner I might become a real fan.
you should watch a video on how they score the runs because it makes a lot more sense, the judges can be pretty biased some times but they are mostly pretty good at following their own rules.
Maybe if you practice manjing the straights you'll do better 😂👍
