As a fan of both paper origami and folding boats, thank you for this design. I probably won't built the full-sized one out of coroplast just yet, but the paper one looks fun to build.

Glad you like the idea of building a paper model. I agree, not many people will actually build a coroplast boat. It took me over 20 years watching others building their boats before I started building mine 🙂

This is great. I'm gonna build one as soon as I find some 10 foot coroplast.

It is not easy to get a 10' long coroplast. An option is to fuse two sheets together. Cheers!

Thank you sir for being so generous with your knowledge and so thorough with your descriptions.
Would it still work if you scale the design to 4x8 (with double wall for reinforcement) or would the resulting boat be too small for comfort?

Sorry for the slow reply... have been very busy. Base on G23 design. If I shrink the middle by two feet. The design can fit into a 8' x 4' coroplast. Then I work out the load capacity: draft / load capacity 1" / 43 lbs, 2"/ 86 Lbs, 3" / 129 lbs, 3.5" / 150 Lbs. Say at 3.5", with 150 Lbs -15 lbs (weight of the boat), then you can load up your boat with 135 Lbs. My 1st boat, I used 4' x 8' coroplast. I have a wood frame and it works. It is similar to this one ua-cam.com/video/SWVNwhNEnuA/v-deo.htmlsi=ToUi1ExG_9iYxdaj My wood frame created a more rigid boat and it is much better than the one shown in the video, but it took me 40 min to assemble the boat.

Thank you so much again, your dedication is admirable.
Based on your calculations the 4x8 version would be too small for me (looking for a loading capacity of 250lbs)
I learned how to do a basic conservative estimate based on your simple approach and will be targeting a design that fits my need with 2 fused sheets. If I succeed I will share with you. Best regards

Bisalkan anda membuatkan tips menyambung coroplast yang kuat, di tempat saya hanya di jual dalam potongan kecil per 1 meter

If you check out this page, it has links to the videos illustrating various boat building techniques, including fusing two coroplast sheets together to make a large sheet: www.diyusa.org/techniques
