Close father-daughter bonds are SO important for girls...but in our current society, we have a lot of divorces, a lot of single moms, and a lot of distant fathers who just work all the time. Brianna irritates THE FUCK outta me!!! Her attitude towards her mother is absolutely foul and disgusting, it makes me cringe and I wanna slap some sense into her. First off she needs to appreciate the fact her mother is in her life and wants to support her as a teen mom, some parents will cut their child off b/c they have a child as a teenager. Secondly Brianna’s mom could choose to go no contact with her based off of how Brianna acts toward her. She really needs to understand and appreciate her mother before her mom decides to cut her off.

These girls live in a fantasy land which is why they don't learn their lesson and continue to push out babies. In the real world there is no help and the parents kick the teen out, they almost always don't finish high school also. This show is the only reason they aren't struggling like people who live in the real world

I will say the bday scene was not really fair. There was a lot more communication that seemed not to take place and fueled Stephens emotions, although he did need to do the work to keep them in check. Kaylas mom saying he was bashing them when he was simply expressing his feelings to his mom just like Kayla does with her wasn’t fair. Plus he was in the back and nobody could hear him but her (because she inserted herself). Then when she handed him off her comment was unnecessary; do you want to see your son. Obviously he does, it’s his emotions and pride that we’re the issue he didn’t want to omit being a dads
He should have space to be upset too in that moment.
@@AbriannaCooper130 You missed the direction of my comment, I never said it was okay that he left. I also said he needed to do the work to keep his emotions in check. However, Kayla and her mother's behavior on that day did not relish peace, grace or even being unproblematic like they like they claim to be. This situation required all the adults in the room to show up as such and when that didn't happen, Kayla's mother failed at that and fueled to the fire. I still feel the situation was set up to make him feel swept away and then it comes as a surprise when he responds like a human (immature but human). They did not communicate Luke would be there and their breakup was not a clean one. So, I felt a little time could have been spaced before moving someone else in the picture. Not excusing his behavior at all, but it's not fair nobody is calling out Kayla and her mother in this particular situation.
@BlameEricaaa Understood, trust I been watching 16 and Pregnant franchises since the beginning. However, my opinion still stands, and you kind of made my point; the art of perception works both ways. Perception doesn't always bare in mind or respect the truth; not the whole truth anyway and in this case it could go both ways. Thus in this case I believe the producers wanted us to view Luke blameless and the hero. I am not saying Stephen is blameless by any means, however I think MTV(and Kayla's mom) played a part in agitating an already sensitive situation and Stephen got the short end of the stick in this particular scene. If he said something far worse than what we saw then I am sure it would have been included. From a producers standpoint, the more drama the better.... they caught a reactive part of him to a situation he walked into. He did not know Luke was there and he Kayla etched him out the role. Again, he should not have let him feel discorded from his role to help however I understand his part as well as Kayla. In that fact... all for this man Luke to fall short in monogamy years into the relationship... its pretty ironic.

Like seriously, this show is suppose to show the realistic side of being young + parenting. You don’t really see struggle, hardships or prevention, so it kinda has the opposite effect on youngsters watching. MTV should’ve done a better job of showing the struggles/prevention of teen pregnancy. It’s no different now ,it takes hard work and trust and respect for each other! You will argue ,but as long as you work hard together,except each ouch other’s fault,and know life is never perfect,you will have hard times ,every thing will work out ! You can’t give up ,marriage is work ! I’m proud to say I’ve been married 41 years ,have 3 kids that all graduated from college,have great jobs and marriages ! I was rooting for Kayla and Luke, I really liked their relationship but when I found out that Luke cheated that shit broke my heart! I felt like Luke genuinely cared for both Kayla’s son and her. I really wish he didn’t cheat b/c I believe their relationship not only would’ve lasted a long time if not that then forever but also their relationship would’ve been one of those relationships that people envied.
