Hot Wheels Bugatti Chiron / Maisto Chevy Bel Air mashup (250) Can it be done?

On the bench today are a couple of castings that you might not have ever considered together in the same thought. I’ve got a Hot Wheels Bugatti Chiron - a super sexy exotic, and a ’57 Chevy Bel Air Gasser - which is NOT an exotic! Never seen them on the track together because they travel in very different circles. Today I’m going to weld them together in the mashup that was meant to be!
The inspiration for this Frankenstein type project came from a UA-cam video where a bunch of guys took the front end of a Russian Gaz-21 Volga and mashed it with the back end of a Bugatti Chiron on top of a Ford Taurus frame. • Full 365 days in 48 mi... It wasn’t a Gasser, but that’s what started me thinking.
The Bugatti Chiron is a mid-engine two-seater super car designed and developed in Germany by Bugatti Engineering and manufactured in Molsheim, France, by French automobile manufacturer Bugatti Automobiles. The successor to the Bugatti Veyron, the Chiron was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show on 1 March 2016. The car is named after the race car driver Louis Chiron.
The 1957 Chevy was introduced by Chevrolet in September 1956 for the 1957 model year. It was available in three series models: the upscale Bel Air, the mid-range Two-Ten, and the One-Fifty. A two-door station wagon, the Nomad, was produced as a Bel Air model. Interestingly, in 1957 Chevy’s annual sales fell below Ford’s for the first time since 1935. The 1957 Bel Air had tubeless tires, the first car to have them - something many people did not initially trust. But today, the ’57 Chevy is far more desireable than a ’57 Ford, so all is forgiven. It is a popular and sought after classic car, often restored to their original condition and sometimes modified. It’s truly an auto icon.

Love this one sir! Great work as always. I’ll put in a bid of $65.i look forward to what come up with next. Really intrigued to see your Skytrain build. I really dig stuff like that.
Right on! Thanks for the generous bid. 👍 Keep an eye on the comments here to see if anyone else is in on the Bugasser. I'll keep this open for a week. The Skytrain is coming soon too. Thanks for the encouragement.. ☕🍁👊
...and bidding is closed, so congratulations @mustbeanadult with the winning bid. Please contact me at mapleleafcustoms@icloud.com to arrange for payment and shipping. Thanks!
Well Andrew, I always knew sniffing all that paint stripper would effect the brain eventually, I have contacted the proper authorities and they should be out to pick you up and take you to the home soon! Lol!! :D That is a crazy cool build, really wild! Great job!
There were many contributing factors at work here, Jeff. The fumes were probably in the forefront of it all! LOL. Thanks for following. ☕️👍😂
That looks amazing. Such imagination and creativity.
Glad you think so! Thanks a lot! ☕️🍁👍
I was skeptical but was sold pretty quickly. As always a wonderful Job of fabrication, right down to the moon tank. Really excellent job, looks like it could be out on the str or a track or wherever you might see this mash up in real life. Thank you!
Thank you very much, Brian! It's really meant to be a spoof - how two totally incompatible cars would go together. But there was still plenty of work in putting it together. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for following along each week! ☕️🍁👍
That was a crazy cool little mashup right there. The squat of the rear end is something else.
Awesome job Andrew 👍🏽😎
It really looks weird like that, doesn't it?! Not meant to be practical, but just an exercise in madness! Wishing you a great day today, brother! ☕️🍁😀
This might be my favourite build you’ve done Andrew. Love it! All the best
Wow, thanks! I'm you liked it so much. Have a super day. ☕️🍁👊
Outstanding work, great idea and we'll executed excellent
Thank you, Martin. I wanted to see what two completely incompatible cars would look like together... Now we know! ☕️🍁😂
A very interesting combo, it looks great!
Thanks very much. Interesting is a good word for this one! They don't really go together, which was the whole point of it. Fun to do though! 🍁☕👍
ANDREW! What a GREAT imagination! Great idea! To see the build come to life! FANTASTIC JOB!
Thanks, Mark. Glad you liked it! We'll never see one in real life! ☕️🍁😂
Another great one🇳🇴🇳🇴
It turned out cooler that i hoped for. Looks so freaking fast. Could almost been a 60/70's custom build.
Watching those guys build the gaz/bugatti has been fun. They do fun videos
Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, the UA-cam inspiration video of the Volgatti is a fun series to watch! I thought doing a Gasser version would be a challenge. 🍁☕️👊
This is absolutely stunning!!! This made me a fan of gassers. Wow! Just WOW!!!
Thank you, Leo! I wanted a crazy cartoon style mashup! ☕️🍁😂
Amazing! What a cool mash up!
Thanks, Mark! Reached into the crazy bag to keep things interesting over here. Have a super day! ☕️🍁😂
Thats 1 Badadd Boo Gasser It Really Ready For The Tracks And Keep Up The Good Work🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Thanks, Timothy! Glad you enjoyed this exercise in madness! ☕️🍁👊😀
Cool 😎 love it awesome 👍😎❤🎉
Thanks, my man! ☕️🍁😁
The Bugasser! Wow, awesome mashup-custom.....👍
Crazy is the name of the game! 🍁☕😂
Love it! Now the remaining pieces would make an interesting Mad Max Gasser ;)
Great idea, and it might just happen...! ☕️🍁✌️
@@MapleLeafCustoms I may consider bidding on said future Chevatti Belron
@@brunohache268 The Belatti! 😂
I never seen a custom like this before, You did a great job combining 2 castings together.
The Bugasser is cool.
Thanks, Sean. Something to keep things interesting around here! ☕🍁🇨🇦
Awesome job, Andrew .😮
Thank you very much! It was a crazy idea with a crazy finish, but all meant to be in fun. ☕️🍁😂
Amazing build as always Andrew! This came out well and a lot different than I had imagined!
Thanks so much for the shout out too! I'm in the process of editing one video for a custom and shooting for another, so stay tuned!
Thanks, my man! Keep the ideas and the customs flowing. It's a great hobby, isn't it?! 🍁☕👊
Andrew! Check Your in-box! THIS is a CrAzY mash-up. Very imaginative. I love it 👍
Thanks, Cat. Got your emails. I'm in for the Tracks challenge! ☕🍁👍
@@MapleLeafCustoms 😺
Great job Andrew. Would have been great either direction with the front and rears.
Well, I've got leftover pieces, so.... ☕🍁😂
Awesome build Andrew this is definitely cool brother
Crazy concept, but someone tried something close to this in real life. I just made mine a Gasser, to be weird! 🍁☕️😂
This will be a good one .be watching for it Andrew 😊
I hope you enjoyed it, David! Have a great day today. ☕🍁👍
Excellent job mate
Love it 👍 15:41
Thanks! The steampunk fire engine is finished now. Another crazy creation. Tune in next weekend for that one! ☕🍁👍
Technically you could make 2 cars
It's true. And I might just do that, down the road. The Belatti! ☕️🍁😂
Sacrilege doing that to a Chiron! Sacrilege doing that to a '57 Chevy! In other words, I love the concept and execution 👍 (At first I misread it, thought the thumbnail said Bigasser and figured the video was about me 🤣🤣🤣). It's builds like this Andrew that keep things so much fun!
LOL! You were the inspiration for the JB Weld job, but not the name! You crack me up, Jim. And yes, fun and madness is the name of the game! ☕🍁😂
Amazing build ❤️
Thank you, Dane! ☕️🍁😁
Have a great weekend bos
Terima kasih banyak, temanku! ☕🍁🇨🇦🇮🇩👊

Outstanding build Andrew 👍🏼love the details that you put on the car, great job my friend! 🍁☕️👊🏼🇵🇷
It was a ton of fun, Mark. Something to keep it interesting for everyone, including me! ☕🍁😀
Awesome job brother
Thanks, Tom. Hope the move is going well. Anxious to see you back on a new hobby bench! ☕🍁👊
Just unbelievable! Can't imagine the better than you. Best wishes from AR Diecast.
Wow, thanks! Greetings from Switzerland. 🍁☕️👍
Very creative Andrew.
Other than the back sitting a little too low, it looks great. Keep ‘em comin’. 🫵👍🇺🇸🇨🇦✌️
Thanks, Steve. It was meant to be a ridiculous mashup of two incompatible cars, so I left it that way. Have to admit it bothered me too, but that was the cartoonish look I was going for! This one would never work in real life! ☕️🍁😂
Well Andrew, you certainly thought out side the box on this one. Nice job, well executed. I can't wait for the next crazy idea you have. Keep pushing those limits 👍
Thanks, my man. More craziness coming. Can't keep it all bottled up inside! 🍁☕👍
Amazing! Looks a bit like a speedboat on after the start. 😉 I love it! Yeah this was a lot of work and thoughts. !!
I hope you had a great trip. I‘m still on mine. Greatings from Apulia 🇮🇹
Thanks, Yves. Fun times on the hobby bench this week. I hope your vacation is as enjoyable as mine was. We all need a break away. ☕🍁👍
looks surprisingly harmonic. :) maybe it really was ment to be? anyway, love the blue, too. :) now, looking forward on how the Chiroair will look like. ^^
Thanks, Lothar. I think Part II will be more challenging to do, but I'll take a shot at it! ☕️🍁✌️
Very creative my friend, the final product is awesome! Your videos always provide cool ideas and techniques for me , thank you ✌️
Thank you, Bob. Good to know! Cheers! ☕️🍁👊
Awesome job Andrew! What a grat idea marrieing two total totally opposite machines!!!
They're as incompatible as can be, aren't they?! That was the cartoonish look I was going for. ☕️🍁👍😀
Crazy idea for this build, Andrew 😅
But the final result is definitely cool 😊👍
Crazy for sure, Toni! It would never work in real life, but makes for a fun project on the bench! 🍁☕️👍
Really nice job! My only comment on the build is you should have raised the suspension at the back so the gasser would stand more straight, like this the front end is way to high compared to the back.
And I'm curious with the remaining of the two cars you should try to make a second bugasser and compare the two 😃
True words. It looks way off, but it was supposed to be a ridiculous mashup of two incompatible cars. It would never work in real life like this. I did save the unused parts, so there might be a Bugasser II build coming up... The Belatti! ☕🍁😂
Great stuff Andrew. Always enjoy seeing what you’re up to and this week was no exception.
Glad you enjoyed it, Geoff. I appreciate the kind feedback. Take care! ☕️🍁🇨🇦
Haven’t watched this video yet. Just wanted to know did you get to try some of the Arizona coffee? Thanks again everyone my work.
Haven't cracked the coffee bag yet, Aidan. Soon though! Thanks again, buddy. ☕️☕️☕️
A very cool custom, personally I would have added the tail fins too, but it was still great build.
Thanks, John. I sketched out all of the possibilities, including using the fins, but that took away from the Bugatti roof lines. Lots of leftover parts though, so I might not be finished with this... 🍁☕😂
That came out great, Andrew! I love it The Bugasser is a reality!🥵😈💯
Thanks! I wanted to make a real cartoonish creation with these two totally different cars. Good times! 🍁☕👊
At first i thought of using the fins off the rear, but that alone would not make it much of a 57 chevy.... and using the whole rear section of the 57 would totally ruin the roof lines .... so that leaves the front clip..... you did great... love it
Dan, you should see my pencil sketches with those and other possibilities. That was all part of the fun of this one. I saved the extra parts, so there could be another Frankenstein build coming as a followup. Have a great day today! ☕🍁👊
Reminds me of a Gee Bee racing plane!
Awesome Andrew!!👊✌🇨🇦
It does look ready for takeoff on the runway! ☕️🍁😂
Awesome build. And that back half of the bel air can be used in your next mad max/gaslands build
Thanks, William. My thoughts exactly...! Stay tuned. 🍁☕👊
That was a proper scratch build. Brilliant finish.
Thanks, Aaron! Lots of cutting, glueing, puttying and sanding this time. Good fun though. ☕️🍁👍
Nice mashup. Came out looking great.
Thanks, Jody. Just wanted to see what two completely incompatible cars would look like as one! 🍁☕👊
Great job Andrew and looks awesome and I can see it in a futuristic movie.
LOL! Mission Bugasser! Tom Cruise's next franchise! ☕🍁😂
😎👊❤
Thanks, Rico. Peace and love from Switzerland. ☕🍁✌
I don’t know how you have the confidence to cut cars apart but looks great as always
Takes nerves of steel the first time, then it gets easier! ☕️🍁👍
Thinking about it!!! Lol thanks for the ride!!
Thanks for the visit! 🍁☕️👊
Very good work as always there Andrew keep up the good work have a good weekend hope you feel better tell the wife that we said hi and God bless my friend
Thank you, JC. Sending love and peace to you and Kathy from Switzerland. ☕️🍁👍
I was skeptical at first, not going to lie, 😂!! But you did it and it looks great!!👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks, Charles. Just to pushing the envelope a bit. Of course it would never wok in real life, but for a cartoon concept, it was great fun! Wishing you a super day today! 🍁☕👍
@@MapleLeafCustoms Thank you!!! You do the same, Andrew!
Terrible la caisse .😊
Bonjour, Christophe! Thanks for watching. ☕🍁👊

Loved it! Thanks.
I'm glad you enjoyed the mashup. It's all meant to be in fun! Thanks for the encouragement and have a really nice day today! ☕🍁👍
Nice build, details and paint job 👌 👍
Glad you like it, Joe. ☕️🍁👍
Jakarta die-cast project did the same build a year ago. Freaking badass.
Oh, I haven't seen that. I'm sure it was awesome! The UA-cam video that inspired this for me was a real 1:1 mashup. Crazy stuff! 🍁☕️👍
Yes it looked very cool.
New to the channel - that’s really cool!
It was a wild idea, but yeah, kinda cool in the end. Happy New Year! 🍁☕️👍🎉
This is a masterpiece 👌✅ !!!!
Glad you liked it. It was a crazy experiment, that worked out well! 🍁☕️👊
Nice great custom.
I'm glad you like it. Something different here, but lots of fun! 🍁☕️👍
That turned out so cool!
I thought so too, in a cartoonish way. Thanks! ☕️🍁👊
I wanna bid 40.
Thanks, Guy. There's a bid of $65 ahead of you though... ☕️🍁👍
I'LL ALLOW IT!!!!
Thanks, Dave. It was a polarizing build, but all for fun. Have a good one! ☕️🍁👍
@@MapleLeafCustoms I can imagine. I wasnt sure to begin with. But its just menacing enough that i love it.
Super cool!
Crazy and fun to keep it all interesting, Yannick. YOU know what I mean! 🍁☕🇨🇦👊
