I'm actually surprised they launched the game with both cross-play and rollback together. Some fighting games launched either have only one or the other or add them post launch months after but not both. MK1 doesn't even have both and it's fairly new although there was news that it will add cross-play this year. I'm glad SF6 and Tekken8 launched with both of these. Hopefully this will become a sort of a standard for upcoming new fighting games.

As a 90's fighter. SF2 , Alpha and 3 were and still are my favs but yes Tekken has taken over to me in recent decades. I liked SF 4 but 5 and 6 for me meh.

The game is exactly what you expect from Tekken and a bit more, so download the free demo and make your own opinion. It's not like you have too many options in this niche.
The little kid avatar thing in the hub world is annoying reminds me of some mobile game sims didn't like it in SF6 either. Actual game looks great though.
kuma was fun in 1998 but now its just wasting a character slot instead of a proper human character roster and they even separated the panda instead of alt costume so two slots wasted

They have made this game so easy for n00bs to play. Use to require skill, now with special style everyone is Eddie and the bouncing four feet in the air makes it so easy for someone the get you airborne and that's the whole match. I have been playing Tekken since 1997 so trust me I'm no n00b.
Remember what Exec Ubisoft said, they will introduce subscriptions, (many will follow) so you will not be able to access this game even though you already paid $100 for it. I'm done buying game online.
Jin was combination of Kazuya and Jun and I thinking that Jun moves gives to him lack of the power what you can feel when you play as Kazuya. Nice that Regina adopted power after Heichahi. I am not fan of DOA and playing female characters is not my thing. I like characters what give feeling of power and laidies in the fighting games often behave as they dancing but Regina have possibility to become one of my favorite. I dont have game yet but I am suspicious that Regina in story mode was trained by Heichahi.
In general I'd say MK1 as you don't have to do as specific timing (sometimes ) and no half quarter circle and such. But tbh I'd avoid mk1 there's a lot of issues with the game. Modern controls makes tekken and sf6 much easier to play

good review, my bugbear is with the developers, don't we think its time they got the interaction system done so people can actually use it as a system to learn how to defend their selves, loved playing this as a teenager but it really leaves me cold now days... however if a connect style system worked well, given how good, motion tracking is now, things like perception neuron etc.. would be amazing to see andrew tate fight gretta thumburg online :)
