    The nym curl cream has been my holy grail for awhile now. I got the new one this week. I was hoping the packaging was the only change. I hate when they fix what ain't broke 😢

      Yeah it's a bummer. I get why they changed it. A lot of people really didn't like it. But I wish they'd just added a different product instead of completely changing it. It makes me sad.

    Washday was yesterday and your video inspired me to finally test out the new formula of this cream. I used it on the left side of my head & my older formula on the right. Happy to report that my results with the new formula are just as good- maybe even better- as with the old. However, *my* older formula is of course not the same as *yours,* so maybe that explains why I see no dramatic difference between it & the new one. Also, you noted that the new formula gave you excellent results on the curlier, lower part of your hair. My hair is curlier than yours (with curls forming much further up,) so maybe this new formula (and even my older formula) works well to enhance curls, but is unable to boost waves to curls (as compared to the original formula.) Note to everyone reading this: Lina compared a previous formula with polyquaternium-72 with the new formula (which contains no polyquats.) I, on the other hand, compared the new one to yet *another* previous formula, which contains polyquaternium-*10* rather than *72*

      Thanks for update! I actually washed my hair yesterday with the new formula and a gel. I'm going to make that my next video is a comparison with of the two formulas I have with gel. I actually got pretty good results as well. It's making me less bummed about the change. ☺ I'm glad it worked well for you!

    Thank you for the video! I was wondering which one I have, this video explained it nicely.

      I know...I had the same thought. I think it's because a lot of people complained that it made their hair dry, so they're trying to fix it... But it's such a bummer

    Forgot to mention that my newer tube (with the starch & without any polyquat) is *not* in the new tube design seen in this video. Mine looks exactly the same as my old tube; I have to check the ingredients to tell them apart. So this formula change must pre-date the packaging update. Just a heads-up in case anyone sees the previous tube design for sale: don't assume it's not the new formula. Check the ingredients.

      I was actually noticing this too. I went to the store a couple days after this video came out and saw that. I'm glad you bring it up though. I'll have to mention it in my next video so people know to be aware.

    My hair looks awful now

  • @kleinerplagegeistplagegeis5057

    You can definetly tell a difference between those two formulas. I did like the old formula on your texture. It is amazing that you just used curl cream for this polished look. I also like polyquats, I feel they make my hair soft and shiny. The new formular gave a more beachy and voluminous look. Maybe this is one of the things that depends on the texture, layering and personal taste.
    I am glad you are recovering from your injury. Get well soon :)

      Thanks for the compliments ☺and I think that's a good way to put it. Preference will be based on your hair and what it is you're looking for in your styling. Both definitely looked good. I just preferred one over the other. But not everybody will. ☺

      @@Linas_lovelylocks you're welcome. I also like the neat defined look of the old formular. But I can imagine the new formular on a very casual event. The volume is insane 🙉.

    Great video. Companies need to ask their customers if they want it to change their formula

      I do get why they changed it. A lot of people were complaining that it dried out their hair or left it feeling producty. But yeah... I wish they'd ask us what we want.

    Looks like there was another formula between these two! 'Cause I have both the new and an older tube, and *neither* contain polyquaternium-72. The older one does have another polyquat (10) as the 5th ingredient. It doesn't have the starch. The old one also contains pg-hydroxyethylcellulose cocodimoniun chloride which, in combo with the polyquat 10, is a patented "curl memory" ingredient called Mirustyle CP (link below.) Finally, even though the the new formula doesn't contain a polyquat, it does contain an ingredient for hold: polyacrylamide (3rd ingredient.) This one's also the 2nd ingredient of my older formula; don't know if it's in your old tube.

    • @karamyrenfrow5065
      @karamyrenfrow5065 Рік тому +1

      I *adore* the older formula I have. Haven't tried the new one yet, but now I'm scared (your results were *so* much better with your old tube.) I'd love to find more products with that Mirustyle CP combo, as a few of my HGs have it: this cream (alas, no more!) Verb Curl Foaming Gel, & Hask Curl Care mousse (I think most of that line has it... or did. Seems like I remember not purchasing one of those products due to a formula change.)

      @@karamyrenfrow5065 Thanks for all your feedback! That's a lot of good information. I couldn't find anything on polyacrylamide being a hold ingredient. I saw that it creates a film over our hair that can help maintain your styles longevity by keeping out moisture, which would probably be good in humid environments. I think I may have seen something about another ingredients list somewhere out there... makes it hard to trust a product when they can't stick with one formula.
      I wish I could help you on other products, but that's a little beyond my knowledge unfortunately. It's good information though, so maybe I'll have to start keeping an eye out.
      I do plan on making my next video about this same comparison, but with a gel paired with it. Fingers crossed that it'll be better with a hold product.

      @@Linas_lovelylocks You're welcome! I found this on polyacrylamide: "Polyacrylamide functions in cosmetics as a binder, film former, and hair fixative [ie, holding agent.]" I'd post the link, but I think links in UA-cam comments are automatically removed. I remembered that after I posted the link about Mirustyle CP and, sure enough, it disappeared. Anyway though, the polyacrylamide certainly doesn't seem to be a strong hold ingredient, ime.

      @@karamyrenfrow5065 Ah fair enough. Thanks for sharing. It's a bummer you can't leave a link for either of those. I'll have to look into the Mirustyle CP on my own. You've piqued my curiosity. But I'd agree. It doesn't seem to be a very strong hold ingredient which is a shame.

    • @Linas_lovelylocks
      @Linas_lovelylocks  Рік тому

      I'm not sure if this is a complaint or just a statement, so I'll respond to both. If your unhappy that your hair doesn't look it's best on day one, it's possible you're using too much product. But if you're ok with it, that's great! Some hair types do look different on day 2 and it can definitely be a preference thing. Day 2 hair tends to have more volume, and if that's your preference, I get why you'd like your day 2 hair better.
