saw you in the booktube-a-thon announcement video and as soon as I hear "I recommend The Night Circus" my first thought was "of course you do Hannah, of course you do" lol
The "Dumbledore's socks" cubes are for a wax melter! Basically, it's an alternative to candles. There's no flame, and the wax is melted by a little hot plate or lightbulb
My family knows to only get me bookstore gift cards hah. I'm planning on buying the Night Circus (only because of you :P) I've never read it, and you've hyped it up so much, so hopefully I'm not disappointed! :)
Love this book haul- everything is so beautiful and awesome! I loved Madeline as a kid too and those are gorgeous editions. The Night Circus bracelet and edition of Wuthering Heights are so beautiful too (both books I need to read) i love bookish candies too! And omg the SoC character bookmarks😍 I’m so happy you have the complete Raven Cycle series now! I have the entire series too- it’s one of my all time favorites. And last Christmas I received that beautiful Harry Potter collection too and I adore it!😍😍
I screamed when you lifted up Fangirl, it's one of my all time favourite books because of how close it comes to a lot of people's realities and the things they do which people may find weird and was so so heartwarming for me
I read somewhere that great literature overcomes the language barrier and reading a translated edition of the Wuthering Heights as well as the English one was the perfect example of that... it's such a great winter read!
Happy Birthday to you.....My Birthday was on Wednesday the 28th. I got a Gift Card for Amazon from my one brother and I bought a Jane Austen Coffee Mug and three books in the Series of Anne Of Green Gables. I still need to get the rest of the books in this series. I just got my Complete Classic Edition of Sherlock Holmes from Barnes and Nobles. It is just gorgeous and it also has Gold Edges too. Happy New Year to you :) - Happy Reading - Have a Beautiful Day :)
Loved this video and it's great that you had an awesome birthday! Wuthering Heights is my favorite classic as well. Also, it's nice seeing a few booktubers pick up Slade House recently! Aaaand, I love that box set of Harry Potter as well! I got it for a gift a while back, and the cover art is so vibrant and gorgeous... I bought myself a few books (and received a few) for Christmas. I picked up Ariel by Sylvia Plath, a few Gail Tsukiyama books, a couple graphic novels (Saga and Ghosts), The Three Body Problem, The Scorpio Races, The Shadow of the Wind, Theodore Roetke poem collection, White Teeth, A Constellation of Vital Phenomena, Barsk, and Gold Fame Citrus. Plenty of books to read in 2017!
I bet you love December! Got quite a few books myself. It's the best. Love making and receiving care package types of gifts! Those candles are so adorable. Great shop name, too. Awesome haul! My husband actually forgot to get anything for me so to make up for it, he ordered the special illustrated edition of the first Harry Potter! It's super expensive and I told him he shouldn't, but it's on the way. I will have to be super careful with that one but I can't wait until it's here! I also ordered the 2nd regular illustrated HP because I wasn't sure if I'd get it as a gift or not so I waited. Gift to myself!
Those Six of Crows bookmarks! So lovely. I have a ton from Happy Hello Art, but not these and LOOK AT THEM. I hope you had a lovely holiday and Happy New Year to you my dearest! :)
Those Six Of Crows bookmarks are BEAUTIFUL and I NEED them!! I'm glad you had a nice Christmas/Birthday Hannah!!😍 I got the same Harry Potter box set for Christmas that you did and I cried for a good five minutes because I was SO HAPPY 😭 I also got Lady Midnight, Cinder, Scarlet, and The Sun Is Also A Star along with some amazing Harry Potter/Ravenclaw merch! I absolutely loved everything that I got!! One of the best Christmases ever!!
I got the exact beautiful HP box set for my Bday as well! I'm now halfway through the Goblet of Fire. They are absolutely gorgeous and it's a joy to reread the series
Hannah, you officially made my day when you said you Fangirl and are reading it and loving it. It's my all-time favorite book, with Carry On and Six Of Crows becoming my second and third favorite. I think you're gonna love it.
David Mitchell is my absolute favorite author, and I always get excited when I hear about other people reading his work! I really hope you enjoy Slade House
Glad you had a good birthday and Christmas Hannah! I'm currently reading The Raven Boys and I'm really enjoying it. My favourite book that I got recently was ACOMAF by Sarah J Maas in the stunning US hardcover that I got for my 25th birthday (18th Dec). I've read ACOMAF already but my UK paperback is really beat up already from all the rereads lol. For Christmas one of the books I got was The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee. I'm so excited The give this a reread (I read it previously as a NetGalley arc).
sakurahan91 Thank you so much and happy belated birthday to you too!! 💖 I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed ACOMAF so much! I'm still considering picking that series up but it seems to be so many people's favorite that I might just have to give it a try 😄
i got the special editions of The Book Thief by Markus Zusack and The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. I also got signed copies of The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon and Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. I also got Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas and an Avatar: The Last Airbender coloring book. Those Six of Crows bookmarks looked so cute! I have to have some for myself eventually.
I really liked A Man Called Ove! Hope you enjoy it as well. And heck yes to the Avatar comics!! They're so good 😍 A belated happy birthday and happy holidays to you!
This month I buy so many books too! I'm from Mexico, and on December is FIL GDL (biggest book fair in America) and Christmas, so I bought 41 books, lol.
I just bought The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, and absolutely loved it. I also read Fangirl earlier in the year, and had to buy the collector's edition from Barnes and Noble. It is definitely well worth the read.
I didn't read the Simon and Baz parts in Fangirl because I didn't really care. But now I want to read Carry On. Does Carry On start from the very beginning or do I have to go back and read their parts in Fangirl?
SPOILER when cath was reading to levi... the fan fiction of hers went to 3 or 4 pages so i didnt even bother reading it and the fanfiction between the chapters i skipped right through those
For Christmas I got the entire Darkest Minds trilogy, Heartless, Walk on Earth a Stranger, The Sun is Also A Star, Let It Snow, Stealing Snow and Takes from the Shadowhunter Academy :) I also got a Hermione, Ron, and Draco funko pop 😍
My GOD! I looked up the Franklin Library Limited Editions and I was immediately wowed.... but the price tag... SUPER HEFTY. Oh well, I guess one must really work in order to have a personal library like that :D
The Avatar comics are fantastic and are wonderful continuations of the story. The Promise, The Search, the third one (I can't remember the title), and Smoke and Shadow, all flow as one continuous story for the most part, but The Search is by far the best.
i got 0 books for christmas but i bought myself ' a monster calls ' and ' dan and phil go outside ' is coming in the mail because i love dan and phil ok
Avatar the last airbender comics is what I bought as well with gifts cards ;) They seem so good, but they are in shipment right now. Can't wait until they get here!
You should read One Thousand White Women by Jim Fergus. It's really good! It's about a girl, May Dodds, who was institutionalized by her family in the 19th century because she had had two children with the man she loved (they weren't married and her father thought he wasn't wealthy enough) She then goes out West as part of a bride exchange for a tribe of Indians in Hope of one day integrated the "savages" into normal society. It's really great!
Have you read life after life by late Atkinson if you haven’t you really should it’s a very unique and interesting book a bit confusing with the different timelines and alternate endings and cause and effect and etc but it is so worth it in the end in my POV
Adalayda Rios I started reading them when i was 15/16 there are some more adult elements in the entire mortal instruments world, but overall you might be okay reading them at 11 depending on how your parents feel about stuff like that
Wow I didn't know you were born on december 24th ! I am so amazed by this I don't know why haha, I also have a cousin who was born on Christmas eve ^^ I hope it's not as unfortunate as it seems xD doesn't look like it ! Happy belated birthday !
olivia1910 Thank you so much!! I actually really enjoy having it on that day because I get to be surrounded by family and friends ❤️❤️ It's a fun time! 😄
I SIMPLY ADORE FREDRICK BACKMAN'S BOOKS. SIMPLY. ADORE. I WOULD DEFINITELYYYYYYYY RECOMMEND READING BOTH OF HIS BOOKS THEY ARE BOTH SPECTACULAR I LOVE THEM SOOO MUCH:DD
Jatrix I ikr! Even though I loved Fangirl, Eleanor and Park remains my favorite. Mostly because it took me such a long time to read Fangirl. I wasn't particularly fond of the fanfic parts either, the reason why I don't plan on reading Carry On 😐
I must've been a messed up kid because, this whole time, I thought Madeline lived in an orphanage. Though now it makes sense that that might be depressing to kids.
now that you say that, maybe she did live in an orphanage?? I don't remember her ever having parents so that's very possible. Its been WAY too long since I read it loll
I've just found your videos from a few days ago and they're so wonderful and I haven't stopped watching them since. Videos like yours make me wish I were brave enough to start making youtube videos. I do have a blog which is at girlsonthepage.blogspot.com I mention this because you mentioned being a women's studies major. I'm picking up a women's studies minor and discuss some of this on my blog.
saw you in the booktube-a-thon announcement video and as soon as I hear "I recommend The Night Circus" my first thought was "of course you do Hannah, of course you do" lol
jaziybabe lolollll im so predictable 😂😂😂
You have became one my favorite booktubers
The "Dumbledore's socks" cubes are for a wax melter! Basically, it's an alternative to candles. There's no flame, and the wax is melted by a little hot plate or lightbulb
Hannah Orgeron ohhhh I didn't know that!! Thank you, that's so cool! 😄
This year I got the first 5 Harry Potter books in hardcover, The Lunar Chronicles, and Milk and Honey😆
My family knows to only get me bookstore gift cards hah. I'm planning on buying the Night Circus (only because of you :P) I've never read it, and you've hyped it up so much, so hopefully I'm not disappointed! :)
Madeleine Lily did you liked it ?

this is going to sound weird but i think you're very great at doing makeup, it'd be cool to see a makeup tutorial from you!!
I read somewhere that great literature overcomes the language barrier and reading a translated edition of the Wuthering Heights as well as the English one was the perfect example of that... it's such a great winter read!
I loved Madeline! It was my favorite book as a kid. Me and my mom used to read it together all the time. I also used to watch the cartoon, too.
Jasmine Dubois I feel like doing a rewatch now! 😂
A Clockwork Reader One day if I ever have kids, I'm gonna share Madeline with them.

Oh boy, I need to find a Christmas at Hogwarts candle!
i've been reading fangirl since november and i haven't even reached 200 pages! it is my first contemporary though so maybe that's why idk
The fanfic parts do interrupt your flow of reading. Atleast I faced that problem while reading it
i heard that a lot of people had problems with that but i didn't! i keep thinking i'd rather read phan or drarry fanfiction tbh lol
Jatrix I ikr! Even though I loved Fangirl, Eleanor and Park remains my favorite. Mostly because it took me such a long time to read Fangirl. I wasn't particularly fond of the fanfic parts either, the reason why I don't plan on reading Carry On 😐
