Maybe the hair? But SS2 and Ascended Super Saiyan or Grade 2 is less confusing because of the bulkiness of that form vs SS2 depending on character in that form.. Sometimes it’s easier to confuse Super Saiyan Vegeta between Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta because they look the same

I think the original comment is referring to the fact that some transformations have become obsolete… even characters like Majin Buu were once a threat, but now…
teven the previous versions of the SSJ… have become an itch on the back (universe 6’s Saiyan).
They are still cool but in terms of power up they can’t keep up with god level enemies.
My favorite transformation sequence was kid Gohan. It was so sad and exciting and it created a meaning to the transformation

They didn't unlock ssj 2, they just had ssj because Goku and Vegeta's sperm had enough power level to make achieving normal ssj easy (That's literally how it works)

Fun fact, in the original manga only 2 ssj transformations were unlocked thru rage; Goku’s initial ssj1 and Gohan’s initial ssj2, the rest were all done through training.

My favorite demonstration of SSJ2 is the battle between Majin Vegeta and SSJ2 Goku. Blow for BLOW !! Greatest anticipated fight of the series. I'd still say its the best fight of DBZ. Honestly of the DB series in a whole. More focus on boxing than ki blasts. And they were also used to a minimum in that fight.

Teen Gohan unlocking SSJ2 is my fav scene in the whole series.
My favorite super Saiyan 2 transformation is the same as yours with adult Gohan transforming at the world tournament such a badass scene and the music they use took it to a whole another level.

No I’ve always believed that Vegeta had SSJ2 before the Majin Power Up he just wasn’t as strong as Goku with SSJ2 he even stated this that’s why he let babidi control him so he can get extra power to put him on par with Goku.

I laugh when people don’t think Vegeta had ssj2 after cell. Just as Goku did. And when they fought, vegeta had making boost reserves just like Goku had ssj3 reserves.
Goku - literally had cheat code by being able to train with Gods + with a spiritual body for 7 years straight.
Vegeta - Had to wait 7 years before literal magic, 7 years of pent up frustration and training, and a renewed sense of purpose finally let him unlock that form.
Gohan - Was simply born gifted. At 12 years old, after a little bit of training, he had the genetic potential to be Ss2 at max power. It still took a year of training with maybe the best fighting instructor you could ever hope for + the threat of the world being destroyed for him to finally be able to access it.
Dbs - Feel the tingle.
Please make a whole video on the Gohan and his power specifically. Include his transformations. He is a fascinating character I would like to know more about. I have seen all dragon ball series mostly but a video from you on that would be great.

Once he seen it he needed to close that small gap so lets say kakarots power is 2 billion when he transforms, vegeta knew his was at 1 billion he needed to close that much of a gap,smh their powers were then equal in ssj2 once vegeta got that stamp on his forehead

How these prodigies Goten and Trunks easily unlock SS1 but have yet to attain SS2? They’re like the only Saiyans that have yet to do so
Narratively they dont need it yet, maybe if we get them as adults and actually have them fight they might unlock ssj2
For gohan, future trunks, goku, and vegeta, SS2 was attained out of necessity/hard training. Goten and trunks haven't had either
Visually goku’s SS1 was done better imo but the emotional buildup for gohan turning into SS2 still gives me chills. Both are so iconic but all of the comments from other characters about gohan going beyond SS also makes it awesome!
Another visual sign for SSJ2 form is that their body gets significantly ripped & hair go from yellow to kinda orangeish.

You seem to ignore how SSJ2 Trunks was stronger/on par with SSJ3 Goku when they met and sparred.
Vegeta did admit no amount of training could close the gap between him and Goku. I am sure he was already SSJ2 but when he saw a brief second of Goku's SSJ2 against Yakon he knew from that point that his SSJ2 form would still be no match against Goku.
Goku was basically a high tier ssj2. Or rather a full powered ssj2. Also his base form was probably ridiculous too.

I think Vegeta got SSJ2 before the Buu saga and he knew Goku also had it with the fight with Yarkon and that's why he let himself become Majin Vegeta to give himself a boost over Goku but he didn't know Goku already got to SSJ3 and that's why they were even. Vegeta transformed too naturally for it to be his first time using it against Goku.
Exactly! I wanted to say that Vegeta transformed way too smoothly for a first timer. But I know people will point to caulifla who achieved it like it’s nothing. That’s why I avoided using that point.

I always had the impression that vegeta already learned ss2 when he fight goku. Dudes been training non stop for 7 years. And his comments suggest he had it down.
Through rigorous training, any Saiyan who had already reached Super Saiyan can achieve Super Saiyan 2 [such like Vegeta]. Of course since DBS really just pulled a "Twilight vampire movie" but used it on universe 6's Saiyans is the most absurd way of becoming Super Saiyan 2.
Even being technical know Goku witnessed a glimpse of SSJ2 kid Gohan. in the hyperbolic time chamber. This was hinted within the manga. The anime showed us what it was that was hinted at.
That’s why in both the manga be busy and the anime DBZ Kai master Corrine said this you know something hung Goku. That shows the implication that Goku witnessed go hunt in a potential both in the manga and in the anime manga gives reference to the head without revealing it. The anime actually reveals the reference and the heat. Critical thinking and common sense is rare.
I can't wait for a universe 6 saga, heck I might finish my fanfic before that

Vegeta allowed himself to get taken over because he knew how strong goku was and needed help. If he already had ssj2 he wouldn’t have allowed that to happen. By getting taken over it unlocked something in him that wasn’t there.
Great video, but I gotta get you. You started the video saying it's based on the anime only. But then with Gohan actually first turning Super Saiyan 2 actually being in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber according to the flashback, it was less to talk about. So you used the manga to further your point when you said anime only. Love your content dude but definitely stay consistent with that as it isn't technical because canonically, that's what happened.
Perhaps I should have clarified in the beginning more when I said the “anime timeline” because this is a part 2 series. my previous video was about SSJ 1. In the previous video I constantly referenced the manga, which is important. It is the source material after all. My aim was less so to discredit the anime, and more so with saying when the form first debuted. And to be fair, the form was unlocked for the first time in the manga.

While I do agree that it's just one possible interpretation, I do believe and insist that Kale and Kefla's SSJ forms are indeed the Legendary variant, since we've seen Kale's power grow infinitely. Kefla's SSJ forms being the Legendary variant would give a lot of sense to her absurd power. It was a fatigued Goku VS a fusion that's, on base, as strong as two SSJ2 warriors, but increasing pretty much every second, and then multiplying that x50 and x100. I think that's a solid explanation to rise from below a SSJ3 Goku to barely below UI Sign in just one battle. The fact that later on we get to see Broly go from below SSJ God to around SSJ GOGETA level makes this theory more likely to be true.
That aside, I also belive the games call Kefla's form just SSJ2 because they DON'T want to mention the term Legendary Super Saiyan because it would make some people get confused and think stuff like Z Broly being canon and stuff like that.

Remember when goku achieved ssj, vegeta's pride couldn't handle it. He left and trained endlessly until he became ssj.
Gohan is a child who became ssj2... vegeta wouldn't have stopped until he to became ssj2.
You see vegeta training at the beginning of the but saga using bulma gravity machine. This was a hint that he never stopped training, and should let everyone know the truth.
I hole heartedly believe that vegeta going majin is why he became ssj2 for the first time and was able to master it in quick succession, my main reasons are as follows yes he has his own will to fight goku, but ultimately babidi gives him a big push, his emotions towards fighting goku by any mean is what i believe allowed to go ssj2 and master in a quick time, vegeta even states to goku during there fight that hes been holding back and that he let babidi revert him to his old ways and showed him powers that he didn't even know he had, which means babidi legit made vegeta stronger by giving him drive and conviction, conviction to fight goku even stronger than what he is now. And during the tournament before the whole majin stuff they agreed to ssj transformation of any type, so even if vegeta had ssj2 he wasn't gonna use it.
Ssj2 Gohan (buu saga)< Gohan SS2 (cell saga) > Goku SSJ2 (Buu saga)
Think of it this way. Vegeta had ssj2 but his base form wasn’t as strong as Goku’s, or maybe his ssj2 in itself wasn’t mastered. Vegeta didn’t need ssj2 to fight Goku, he needed his base power to multiply in order to fight Goku. Vegeta thought he would beat Gohan before they made the rule for not going super saiyan during fights. Also, if you want to argue base Vegeta is stronger than base Gohan, then that would suggest it’s highly likely that Vegeta unlocked the form
@moodzi1322 that is highly untrue cause gohan already started on his slacking since the buu saga, vefore gohan got potential unleahed he couldn't take down soemone like dubura who was only a tad bit stringer than cell 7 years have passed yes vegeta has mastered ssj1 but if thats the case don't you think he would be training in ssj2 more if he had it unlockeded? Cause by than goku had already got to ssj3, an again babidi being a wizard that can increase streangth and heighten emotions basically pulled ssj2 out of vegeta unless i get something to tell me other than the fact that it says vegeta "trained hard" im not convinced considering that vegeta stuggles with the transformations a lot more than golu did, and heck stuggled a little but more than gohan, so im still under the opinion which i believe to be almost fact that babidi is responsible for making vegeta an ssj2 and helped vegeta master it just like that because of "vegeta's yo fight kakarot" and thats a drive you never underestimate with saiyens it makes them 10x stronger than they usally are

Ok so aside from universe 6 ,to unlock ssj is the pain of loss of something they hold dear,friends,family,pride ,Id like to believe ssj 2 can be unlocked through liberation or absolution. Goku being fine with being dead, Vegeta finding the will to fight again, trunks saving his future, cell from realizing he survived his own self destruction, and Gohan being free to kill cell . It could be a stretch but it's my head canon 😅😂
I like the buu saga during future trunks however it never made sense why babidi waited an additional decade to come forward.

Vegeta transformed into SS2 easily and effortlessly like it was something he was use to. You don’t transform that easily on the first time ever. Plus a power boost doesn’t unlock new transformations.

I don't think that he couldn't go ss 2 before buu saga, but I do think that it wasn't a master ss2. Based on how vegeta had talked to gohan before the tournament. He talked as if he had finally surpassed gohan as a super saiyan 2.he does that only when he has surpassed characters. However as a mssj2 he wouldn't have taken the boost to win against goku. He only did that once he realized that goku still had more mastery of ss2 than him

The whole Vegeta thing is weird to me. Vegeta was confident in his chances against Goku when he saw ssj1 Goku, it wasn’t until Goku went ssj2 against Yakkon that he decided to use Babadi. This means that base Vegeta = base Goku, ssj1 Vegeta = ssj1 Goku but ssj2 Vegeta < ssj2 Goku, since it was stated that Vegeta wasn’t on his level until he got the Majin power up. Or it means Vegeta didn’t have ssj2.

Allow me to retort; The anime flashback is Canon because without that understanding Goku would have NO reason to believe Gohan had an additional hidden power boost within him and would not have thrown his own son in the ring with the "Perfect" Being Named Cell. Therefor the Manga is incorrect in how it was written because it was going by false pretenses of other moments rather than seeing a glimpse into SSJ2 which Goku felt the power it was emanating even for a moment.
So we can't just call it a filler scene when it wasn't a filler but a Canon Scene, fixing a mistake Toriyama made with the manga.
There's a difference in the auras around SSJ and SSJ2. You'll have to look at the manga to notice it. The anime is very inconsistent with everything.

I just disagree with that writing. Ssg Goku stood no chance against base kefla, ultimate gohan is weaker than ssj blue, but he beats kefla when's she's ssj1. When in the show Kefla going Ssj1 was AFTER Goku went blue to tip the tides back in her favor. BUT gohan beats her in the manga??. Just doesn't make sense.

I just want to take the time say while the back tingle method is pretty weak in the anime it does have enormous advantage compare to the traditional way. Think of this when you first awaken Super Saiyan, your body is engrossed with power that both ancient and overwhelming. Your attacks are 50x more potent and stronger than before. Not only that, it creates like a tunnel vision of focus in your mind like "I won't stop unless he's breath is snuff out" like when Goku fought Frieza. Dude was so focus on taking him out his sense of reason was long gone and the emotional impact it carries with that form is really frighten. But with the back tingle, all those negative effects and traits are reduced greatly. You have a clear head when fighting, the emotional and mental toll is lessen, and drawback of being very fatigued is reduced. I am not saying the back tingle method is great and in fact I wish another method was use as a substitute, but the way to attaining Super Saiyan during this way is still worth praised for taking away and negative impact of the form. People keep in mind than Universe 6 Saiyan are shown more peaceful than U7 and their worlds and ways while similar are still different.
They shoulda made Vegeta’s SSJ2 look different from his SSJ.
