      for every animal thats seen bullying crabs, there's many more than generally don't want to mess with or have to run from crabs. to the average fish without strong biting mouthparts or a way to break open a crab, they are armed and armored tanks whose pincers can do serious damage to fins and exposed skin.

    Many years ago, at the Steinhart Aquarium in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, they had the Octopus in with other exotic shellfish, in one area of the exhibit. Somehow the Octopus figured out how to release the catch on his tank lid, and climbed out, Now being a hungry Octopus, he made his way down the other tanks and ate all those exotic shellfish, they discovered him the next morning finishing off the last of the shellfish.

    The crab shell is probably one of the worst evolutionary defense - ever - it's virtually useless against ALL of it's predictors, from tiny little worms to "soft" body predictors, to fishes that basically eaten it alive. Truly one of the rare occasions where mother nature failed epically. Sorry crabby, back to dance in the island.

    • @r.awilliams9815
      @r.awilliams9815 2 роки тому +2

      I disagree. It's a very successful evolutionary pattern. There are thousands of species of crabs, in all of the worlds oceans, and they have been around for over 200 million years in the fossil record. That's not a fail, that's a resounding success.

    On a certain level, we have octapussy in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in flow: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the octapussy can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer flow to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the octapussy can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for flow, and flow is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.
