Prep and base coats for surface and to under paint, big fields of color,layering and modelling, adding in the highlights and shadows, intrinsic details and detailing, highlighting and shadows again with blend or edge scoring. protective or burnishing coat.While the subject and medium may alter the middle portion in steps, overall that's how it's done. The only thing an artist does different is the under drawing...

@@sophieromanca Yeah, Hercules was driven mad by Hera and killed his family. Hades was just doing his job - managing the underworld. He's pretty chill, given that his main myths are basically "Look, these are the rules. Here's what we can do now that you've done XYZ. Understand?" (Other person does what they weren't supposed to do) "Well that's on you."
