Best rigging education takeaway/giveaway in a while. Proper fishing. Small things do make a big difference.
Summer of 2015 I took my “X” wife on a guided sturgeon + walleye trip. Our guide was (is) a close friend. He’s been fishing the Columbia river for 40+ years.
Within 2 hours I caught a 4ft sturgeon and my wife caught a 13.7 FOOT sturgeon and reeled it in HERSELF!!! It was a 55minute battle, Her arms were like wet noodles. (My buddy’s boating skills played a giant role LOL)
IT GETS BETTER! & WORSE!!!!
Once we finished fishing for sturgeon, we put up the big rigs and pulled out the walleye gear. We had the most unbelievable 4 hours of walleye fishing. Between the 3 of us, we landed 73 walleye 6 of them broke 30inchs. Then, there was giant. Freaking 41 inch walleye!!! (Didn’t get weight)
My buddy, aka the guide said that this was hands down 100% the best night of walleye fishing he’s ever had or even heard of. Not only the most fish, but the biggest. Before that night, his biggest ever was 34 inches & he fishes the same spot 2-3x per week.
OUR FRIENDSHIP WAS RUINED!
At the time, our daughter paislee was 9months old, and still on drinking milk from the golden well lol... plus, our baby sitter had school the next morning.
Of course, I told by “buddy” aka the guide, we “MUST” be back home by 10pm at the very latest. He said no problem! I never fish past 9:30 or 10pm anyways......
welp 9pm rolled around, and knowing we were roughly 30-45mins from the dock and 15-20 mins to get boat loaded we were gunna be pushing 10:30 by the time we got home...
ME: hey boss, we probably better get headed that way.
GUIDE: seriously???? Are you kidding??? You don’t understand how rare a night like this is! We can’t go back now!!
WIFE: (fake laugh) haha right!! Wish we could stay out longer!!! But, our kiddo is gunna be wanting fed and our baby sitter has school in the morning, but let’s come out again sometime.
Guide: ok, ok, “just one more spot I want to hit before we head that way” starts hauling ass in the opposite direction of dock.
Guessing we went around 10-12 miles before he came to a stop. Ok, now we’re just going to “troll” back to the doc. My wife elbowed me to say something lol..
Me: ok, well let’s just troll kinda fast
(Pointless I know)
Guide: yup! We should be to the dock by 11:30 at the very latest!
11:30 rolls around and we’re still not close to the docks... our fishing poles are reeled up and put away (our settle hint lol) he’s the only one fishing....
Of course the “boat rules” are no phones aloud... he forgot to mention that to me, until we met up at the marina... (or we would not have went) only “HE” was allowed to have a phone, because it didn’t have a camera... yet i could clearly see that it “DID” have a camera.... but it was a flip phone.
12:30 rolls around and I borrow his phone to call our baby sitter. Her dad picked up the phone.... AND CLEARLY pissed. it’s a FUCKING school night!!! Kara tried calling you both!!! several times!!. I’ll wait here with your kid, but hurry the fuck up!! Oh, and Kara is DONE SITTING FOR YOU!!! I apologized, and tried to explain the situation without sounding like a dick towards the guide. and very loudly said, SO SORRY! WE ARE ON OUR WAY RIGHT NOW!!!! (So the guide would hear me)
As i was getting off the phone with the pissed off baby sitters father, the guide says: better get going huh? Ok, just want to drag this last hole and........... wife: grabs his phone out of my hand and launches it into the river and totally loses her fucking mind on him!!! NO! We are fucking done!!!!! If we’re not BACK to the dock in 10 minutes I’m throwing tackle boxes and everything else out!!!! Guide put it in gear and no one said a word all the way back to the doc. (Yes I helped him load up his boat still)
Guide: come by house tmro, I’ll have fish cleaned out for you.
Next day, someone stole the fish.. (or so he says) lol best and most miserable day of fishing ever!!!
Ps. If anyone actually read all the way thu this, I admire you. Lol you got heart.

Hey Larry, just a headsup for you on melanoma. The lancet did a study that proved your chances of cancer are reduced with increased sun exposure. It is the sunscreen and sunglasses that are actually causing less vitamin D intake and contaminating your body from the sunscreen ingredients. Another study showed a group of senior in which all but one person saw tumor growth stop with increased exposure to the sun. The one person who did not see tumor growth remission had misunderstood and was getting increased sun exposure but still wearing sunglasses. Just so you know the real research straight out of the medical journals and not the media.

We have no access to leeches here in Ky. What other bait(s) is equally effective under the slip bobber for walleye? Crawlers? And if so, how would you recommend hooking them? Thanks in advance!
Crawlers work awesome! Thread the head and leave the rest on dangling! Same weight and set up in the video just with a crawler

Yes out of channel from little green off to you're right First point you come to past the so called bay runs out into lake a long ways and has little fingers that run off point on both sides , A great place to start on , mt personal best is 9 pounds from green, I grew up an graduated from forest lake fished them lakes for a lot of years

Yeah, you are a joke. The "bad checks" was a screw up on Sawyer County and everything else has been resolved. Good luck finding better talent than Tom, there is no one that puts out the amount and quality of content that Tom does. Someone sounds a bit envious.
