Great stuff. And I think a situation like yours with having a Patreon is ideal to have a direct line to the people who WANT to hear your art. But I think in order to have a sustainable amount of people to fill a community like how yall have there, there needs to be grass roots building and playing if the content game to cast nets out there to find those dedicated fans who will stay with you for the long haul. People in new projects, starting from scratch are basically forced to play in this weird environment that the music industry is now. And it honestly is discouraging. Feeling like I make something that’s worth hearing but feeling like unless it’s pick up by someone with a wide enough net, it’ll never be heard.

The beauty of all this lies on the fact that all the mainstream artists can count on labels, traditional media (TV) and sponsors. What they are doing is way more than just excuses for why they do it but they're shaping the body of their fan base that needs content no matter what it is.
