Your a life saver. Our Kenmore Elite dishwasher would not work in the normal mode. It gave errors saying not enough water, start washing and the screen goes blank and starts beeping or it says there is too much suds (we only use Cascade) and not over fill the dispenser. I called Sears to come out and fix it. We have a whole house appliance contract on our appliances. I paid the $ 75 dollar for the service man to come out. He came in opened the dish washer, loosen the screws to the inside door panel and stared at it for several minutes and said 'You need a new dish washer". I told him OK and thanked him and he left. I came here and found this video and tried what you said and by golly it worked. It re-set the controller module and now my dish washer works on all cycles. I'm going to send a letter to someone at Sears and see if I can get my money back or at least gripe at them because the serviceman didn't have the knowledge to do what you said. I'm glad you put this on UA-cam.

Awesome brother! My Kenmore sucks a mean one, along with my Fridge. I purchased all my appliances about two to three years ago. My Fridge completely went out. Had to replace it, at the Sears Owners expense. Then the movers brought in the new one and broke the water dispenser hose. Now I have to get another new one. WTF? Sears and Kenmore blow. Never again. Keep this in mind next round. Whirlpool, Frigidaire etc.. manufactures Kenmore for Sears. So' in order for (2) corps to make money they make a very cheap but very nice looking unit called a "Sucker unit" aka polished up turd if you will? The manufactures make them for these p.o.s. corps like sears to sell on the grounds Sears handles all warranties and they sell contract to sell millions of these units to people so hell' manufactures love it. Just make a p.o.s. with low/no quality control and make a fortune with no warranties to handle. Win Win!! How I know? Sears & Pioneer done it to me in the late 80's. After sears failed to repair the p.o.s. (3) times I personally called Pioneer to fix it. It just shut off at 30% volume... Pioneer said " Sir' we don't warranty our Pioneers sold through Sears, sears does". Then said' "We build (actually change) the stereos to conform to Sears specs, they're not our real Pioneers". WTH??? Needless to say I returned that $1200 stereo (IN PIECES to be Unsellable) and have never bought anything but clothes/tools from Sears and "nothing" from Pioneer ever again. Neither cared what they sold so' screw both! I bought a JVC system that's still problem free today.. Yes still jams like day one after 30 yrs! Many do it with mowers,furniture,appliances etc.. Do that homework!
Thanks so much. I checked my manual after it was "locked" and other videos online and your video provided me with a good outcome. Luckily, after mine ran the diagnostic test, everything worked. I didn't see a code anywhere indicating the original reason why it would not unlock or even where this code might appear. I tried the website you posted and it is now private and I could not find any where else where there was a service repair or diagnostic manual, only the original manual that was of no help. I really appreciate you doing the video as I try and fix things myself before calling someone to help me. Thanks!!!
Thanks for your help. I tried all other options prior including unplugging confirming the water is 120 coming in etc. My diagnostic test seemed to run for 20 min. My problem was it wasn’t sanitizing nor was it drying - I assumed it was the heating element gone bad after only having the unit for a year. After test it def is hot hot hot again 👍
Thank you - this fixed my issue as well. I should point out that I was initially having issues with the instructions. You'll please note that when the sequence of buttons were pressed in the video, each button he pressed "lit up" as he pressed them. For some reason mine weren't lighting up as they were in the instructions. I forget if I had to hit the "reset" button or unplug the unit first to get them to light. Once the buttons lit up (as shown in the video) the reset sequence worked and I was back in business. Thanks again for the video !!!!
@@observer698 Sorry for the (very) long delay in responding - after a year I had to find this video again and re-run the process and I just saw your question. To answer your question - yes - if when running the 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3 sequence shown - if each light doesn't light up, unplug the dishwasher for about 10 seconds and try it again. Once your front panel lights up like a Christmas tree, simply close the dishwasher door. Set a timer for 25 minutes and resist the urge to do anything until the 25 minutes have expired. The front panel will say "complete" almost immediately, then flash "complete", then go blank, etc. during testing. After the 25 minute period you should be all set to run the dishwasher as "normal". I just ran through the process again today (after a year) and I'm back in business again.

TY, the 3 button, lights on, shut the door, open it and all now working fine, just resetting the computer did the trick. 3 minutes max and all fixed. It forces a complete reload of the computer program " hit the 3 buttons 3 time 123 123 123 .... 3 times fast,1 sec each., all lights come on. Shut the door and clean your dishes. Thanks again..

Here it is again July 17, 2024 and our Kenmore Elite Dish Washer saying low water pressure. I thought I had downloaded this video but I could not find it. Thankfully it was still on the internet so I downloaded it again. Right now I am waiting for that 25 minutes to countdown.

thanks for your suggestion. When I press three buttons, buttons do not lit and the 'daignostics , TEST" does not start. The WASHING light is flashing.. I tried unplugging and plugging but still did not work
I have a Kenmore model 665 13973K010. I ran diagnostics and runs for about 20 minutes and beeps. No flashing lights, nothing. Does this mean it passed all tests with no codes? I sometimes get a over sudsing issue where it just stops. I replaced the float switch which I think helped. Heard it could be a vent issue as well. I heard the contacts can get rusty on the plug for the vent system. Will see what happens I guess. I run the Cascade Platinum paks and no rinse aid since the paks have the aid built in. I had better performance with old fashion regular Cascade powder. Thanks for the video.
Mine is doing the same thing. I got that u hit the sequence of buttons...all my lights work. But what do u do after that? I'm confused. My dishwasher drains...just stops and starts blinking after about 15 min.

The diagnostics section of your dishwashers manual should help you out. The Control Board might need to be replaced or your pump might be bad. If it doesn't go through the diagnostic self-test it's probably the Control Card.
Mine is totally black, no lights on. Looks like the same model. I hate this thing and of course it breaks a month before I finally get out of this slumlord apartment.
Also' by turning off the breaker several hours (best overnight) resets them if this fails. It takes awhile for power to drain so I assume the capacitor holds it. Can't just off/on it's breaker it must set a long time. Our Whirlpool Maytag did it once & I almost replaced it but read it online thankfully and it was still in the home when I sold it. This was not in the manual but should be.

My dishwasher, 665-147 model did not respond to the procedure mentioned in this video but because of your comment I tried unplugging for a few minutes to no avail so left unplugged overnight and darn if that didn’t solve my problem with my dishwasher stopping mid-cycle. The simple restart he showed in the video fixed the problem with my washer.
