You should try Switch Axe, for example in Rise. The sword mode, if fully loaded, has a combo that ends with the hunter grabbing a part of the monster and unleashing a massive explosion. It's overall a really fun weapon. More mobile but less defensive than Charge Blade. Instead of loading files to use them for discharge attacks, the axe mode builds up energy for the faster sword mode.
This video shows NOTHING as to what this weapon is capable of and why its good in the first place, this is such a complex weapon and we didnt even see half of its bare basic moves. This is actually a bad representation of the weapon. Also, if other weapons did things better than them, then they wouldnt have kept them in the game for this long, every weapon brings something to the table, otherwise everyone would just use charge blade and greatsword because they do the biggest numbers on single hits :P
