Love the product, been using for a while, and really enjoyed this updated process video. Quick question, do you all factor in positive matchups when manually adjusting projections during the research process or do you trust saber is taking that into account with the default projection?
Good question! Our model does a great job of taking into account matchup specific statistics and working those into the projections so on a research level I am not looking to exploit matchups in that way. Our data scientist Eric gave a great explanation of how the model takes this into account in response to a DvP question. His response was as follows: "Fwiw we don't explicitly consider DvP within the NBA model. This is mostly because of the positionless nature of basketball now. Its really hard to put Tatum, Jokic, etc in a box and assume that we should bump someone like Jokic because of good performances of other non-ballhandling centres (for example). Instead, we'll look at the statistics against a defence (somewhat oversimplified) and use those to bump / drop the players. So, for example, if Team A gives up a ton of offensive rebounds, we're going to "bump" the players on Team B that GET a bunch of offensive rebounds. These may mostly be Centres, but this way we'll apply that defensive effect to how each individual offensive player plays. The same goes for 3 point attempts, 2 point attempts, ft rate, assist rate & more, with varying degrees of "this stat is x% offence and x% defence" which is formulated as a result of how predictive each side of the ball is on that given stat." Since our model/modeling team is handling this in the projection I do not feel the need to research this specific phase of the game.
Let’s gooo sabersim 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Sabersim is probably the best tool I've ever paid for in regards to dfs, It's pretty trustable, even in those no so confident plays its amazing.
True. I did free trial. Just more than i want to pay. It is worth it.
@@rokn426 I’ve had like 3 top 5’s since using it already and won about $4000 so it pay for itself before the first month was up for me

@@SaberSim awesome explanation, makes perfect sense. I appreciate the response! 🙌
Where do I click to auto generate a lineup based on your projections. I'd rather do that and then work it from there to my taste

Are the tools used on any of these external sources behind a paywall?
No they are not. All free to use resources
Where can we find the leverage tab
You can find the leverage tab as a column in the exposure table in a build! Email us at support@sabersim.com if you need more help.
