- Today I'm sharing everything I brought with me and my travel capsule for 7 days in Toronto. I created 15 outfits with a 10 item travel capsule with carry-on luggage. I hope this helps you pack light next time you travel!

I spent 2 weeks in Italy this spring - shoulder season- and only packed a roller board carryon thanks to your guidance on putting interchangeable outfits together! It was so freeing! Thank you for all of your styling tips and stressing the value of a little pre-planning playtime. Absolutely worth every minute. You are a gem!
Love this video, Alyssa. The creativity just flows with fewer items!! Who would guess :). When I went to Italy for 3 weeks with just a carry on, I felt so smug using a little black t-shirt dress for multiple day occasions using different small accessories, but then, when I needed a nightie, used the t-shirt dress! Gave it a quick hand wash, hung it up to dry and it was ready for the next day's use. It didn't wrinkle and I could even use it as a cover up at the beach. No one was the wiser. I found this item worked very hard for me during the 3 weeks.
Do you mind sharing your Tee Shirt Dress find? I know there are lots out there to choose but some don't hold up well. Thank you!
@@AmyBeth1968 Believe it or not, it was a T-shirt dress/nightie from Joe Fresh. Simple, plain black design with a slight V-neck. Knee length. Very affordable but good quality cotton. Folded up very small. Wore it with belts, scarves, hats, different shoes and jewelry (or to bed). It is still going strong 6 years later!
Love your videos! It would be fun to watch how you pack all the items in your suitcase and maybe include all the toiletries you would take too. Keep those great videos coming!

You make it look so easy, but it’s very hard to find clothes you live and feel great in and look stylish when you’re a heavyset woman.
I’m terrible at packing light, so I always find these useful!
Love this! I did 3 weeks in Peru including 5 days climbing mountains in 0°- 20°C weather, 4 days of city time with nice dinners (including one at a Michelin restaurant) in Cusco and Lima, 5 days in the 40° Amazon jungle and 4 days at the beach... all in a small backpack. Did laundry 3x but I was blown away how little is needed with some planning and trying everything on like this!❤
My fave: mint green cardigan (reversed), shorts, sneakers and puzzle bag! So cute. A great video, Alyssa. The power of playing around before packing.
I always pack very light (carry-on only) for trips, but I have no fashion sense. I am just amazed by this video. The individual pieces on the rack looked so…normal and unassuming. But when you put them together for the various outfits, they all looked so classy and classic and well balanced and put-together. Astounding. It’s like magic.

I just came back from a long weekend - 3 days and 3 nights - in London. I took a fair amount of time creating my first travel capsule and I was so pleased with it! I needed looks that went from day to night. Comfortable for daytime sightseeing and stylish for afternoon tea, an evening play and Beyoncé’s concert. I shopped a lot and returned a lot. I found a camel colored, light weight vintage Chanel cashmere sweater. Boat neck. That worked with white jeans, black pants and over a knit dress. I settled on a color palette of white, beige and black. Again, I was so pleased and look forward to the next time. Thanks for all of the wonderful inspiration!
I love your process, Alyssa. Straight away, I thought, only two bottoms!? 😮 I would be adding a pair of black dress pants... but once I actually watched the video 🙄 I could see this is always my packing issue. Too many just in case items, then I just feel overwhelmed. The way you changed your look time and time again, with so few pieces, brilliant. You would think after watching you for years, I would have learned by now! Love Apollo demanding lunch and then his moody walk through 😂 Happy and safe travels 🩵💙
I take more than two bottoms for a weekend. 😂 No way I could take only 2 for 8 days. 🤷♀️I’m with you. Black pants would have been a great addition, even leaving out a top to make room. Great outfits, though.

You seem to have a lot of “in case it’s chilly” but not much “in case it’s stiflingly hot”! I wouldn’t have taken the jacket and the denim shirt. I just did a back pack for 2 weeks in the UK. I can do laundry though.

I followed the proper pieces to my 15 day travel from Baja California Mexico, to Guadalajara, Mexico and I remember that I remember I brought only I set that do to constant rain, so shorts were out of rhe question to style them @ streets, very uncomfortable to roam in the streets in a cloudy spring...
On the other way my other trend choice were just fine..my Father is from Guanajuato, 40 minutes from Guadalajara. So I was convinced of the weather situation to a avoid a oops moment in a far away city from my birth town. Thanks for tour style advise...

I’m 3hrs east of Toronto and I can tell you right now that you will want more summer options. It’s hot 😅and the sun has been beating down around 25c as you mentioned, but it feels hotter than 25 right now because of humitidty and we know that the concrete jungle of T makes it worse. Maybe bring one pair of pants and one sweater for evenings, but you definitely want shorts and tshirts for the majority of the trip.
So classic and easy! Love those shorts for travel. I'm self conscious of my legs so I stay away from shorts usually. (Spider veins). Going to Italy in September and you gave me some inspiration. May go and get a tailored pair of shorts! Thanks!

Great looks. For longer trips, I also try to figure in laundry needs - either easy to hand wash and hang to dry or machine wash and dry with minimal loads.

Instead of those Sezanne shorts, how about a timeless and much cooler denim skirt (any length)? Denim is your thing Alyssa, you look amazing in anything denim, it's really your look (and as it happens, mine)

I have an off shoulder Tee from Sezane (my favorite!) In Navy with small polka dots and I haven't thought of it with the Rome shorts I also have. I love everything Sezane, and you just gave me so much inspiration! I love this video!

I’m a flight attendant and has recently moved to a fleet where hold luggage is a little frowned upon so learning to pack with carry on only is a challenge. I’m so used to just throwing things into a large suitcase for my long haul trips! Watching your channel has been so helpful and inspiring, thank you!

Going to Austria for 2 weeks later this month-overthinking my own capsule- my 2 choices for jackets exactly the same,only leather moto! Will have to take 4 pairs shoes though- very fussy feet! Do love a capsule!

Love your style! Great ideas. As a European I would bring a wide-legged, straigth pant (with a print) from Italy instead of shorts, as many people only wear shorts in their garden, but not to go out (too casual). But I like the idea of one jacket and bag that work for every outfit. Very stylish and elegant without bringing a ton. I'll use this as an inspiration for my next trip.

I would bring another pair of pants beige chinos or black cotton. Jeans are not dressy at all, just in case. Nice job, great ideas!
I wore the shorts out a few times to be dressy and it was good! I did miss my black wide leg trousers though!
Lol when I was looking at the outfit with the tailored shorts and fitted, striped T, and when you threw on the sweater, I actually said out loud. Wow that’s preppy! And then two seconds later, you said the same thing! I’m learning from the best here 😆

Love this. Because I dont live with my boyfriend im always in my suitcase on the week-end and it is hard to pack light but have everything if a occasion pop up. You should do more of these. Casual week end getaway suitcase for different season...

I can’t imagine traveling without a white t-shirt. It’s a staple for me. Can you share why it’s a difficult color to travel with? Also the Loewe puzzle was def a good purchase. It looks good with just about all of your outfits.
I find white difficult to travel with because it is harder to rewear. It gets dirty easy. If only wearing once then no biggie!
I have a difficult time traveling with a white tshirt because I spill on myself and get pretty dirty when I travel. I have pretty active vacations and am a bit of a lush 😳🤦♀️🤷♀️, and a stained tshirt tends to put a cramp in my style 😎. I try to bring clothes that are more forgiving about the style of travel I enjoy.

I love you in jeans and black slingbacks (classier than trainers), not sure about the rust/terracotta browns or too mismatched accessories (belt one colour, shoes another, bag another) and old-style handbags, the puzzle is great but you need a modern classic mid-season/summer bag that is not too formal like the one you already have, and is a bit cooler, maybe just a lovely (denim) tote, they're very Parisian chic and don't cost a fortune! Thank you Alyssa and have a lovely time in Toronto. I live in London, I'd never wear a baseball cap!

This was perfect for travelling I bought a bit more cloths then ten but I did like you try everything and watch the match of course it ´ so hot here in Italy in June so may be I brought to many. I found also on Etsy some ´fiches’ to plan what to were when . We are here for two weeks and 4 four days in Rome no washing machine so…I brought the soap that you recommande in a old video ( eucalan) never perfect but well plan it’s easier to travel.it’s very hard not to buy shoes and bags here there’re a lot of nice pieces in Rome of all color…may be a red bag he’s on my wish list…❤

Lovely combos❤ I used to pack way too much because I thought I'm such a mood dresser but really it's just that I haven't quite figured out my style and my wardrobe is incoherent. Recently, I was very proud of myself for packing light but completely missed that when you travel to hike mountains you'll likely sweat through your clothes and two bottoms for 4 days won't suffice🥹 loads to learn, always happy to hear your smart, stylish, and considerate input
I am a terrible over-packer but this is what I aspire to !! Would love to know what u do about toiletries especially shampoo and conditioner. I wash my hair every day and sometimes twice if I’ve gotten super sweaty. Would love tips on making the most of toiletry space!

Great video! Learn so much when you talk through why a combination works or doesn't. I'm traveling to Norway and then london; so a very complicated pack as may need long underwear and rain gear for outdoor hikes and cycles in norway, but also need warm weather gear for city life in London that will include theatre and museums. This will not be carry-on only.

I finally decided Apollo is a cat based on the banging lunch bowl 😂 Years ago I had a Pomeranian who would pick up his bowl, carry it outside his room and throw it on the floor when he wanted food, or water. He was he best!

Would you consider doing a video to show more outfits with white sneakers? I have knee issues so I’ve only been able to wear sneakers lately. Some outfits look okay with my white chunky sneakers but some don’t. I just can’t identify what the issue is! 😔 Thank you!

I'm travelling to Italy in 10-days, packing carry-on. This gave me much needed inspiration to plan outfits prior to pulling every cute thing from my closet. Not gonna lie, I'm sure I'll have some "just in case" items, but I'm really going to try to pack smart. Have a great time in Toronto!!
