So glad that I came across this channel. I spent years in school going back and forth between soprano and alto parts in chorus. After all that time I finally find that I'm a mezzo. These exercises feel so good. I'm also finding my voice again after thyroid and other health problems. Thanks!
This is perfect for me. My biggest issue right now is negotiating the lower passagio. I never had this issue when I was younger but after several years of not singing I lost the transition. Also love the keyboard shots. I can attempt to replicate this with my piano if need be.
i do the alto warmup from like six years ago (do i don’t lose the low notes) and then this one so i can strengthen my higher registers :) this warmup opens up your voice a lot
The zona di passaggio and area around the secondo passaggio, particularly when we're really getting a good balance of vowel formation and airflow, can have a certain vulnerable feeling to it. I think that the balance necessary to be productive in that range is a very exposed position to be in, and getting a bit verklempt seems quite natural. Best, Jeff
Thanks for checking things out! Head over to the beginner's playlist! I really should've called it fundamental technique, it's not just for new vocalists but it's where to begin this whole thing: ua-cam.com/play/PL2mQP7sE6PHg8wjZBjfJ3HGVqjxBF2swE.html Best! Jeff

Oooo! This is a great one, Jeff. Those open vowels always reveal the real deal going on in that passage. Thanks.
Jeff makes me laugh and sing ❤️
That felt so comfortable and fun :)

Interestingly, I find working this particular part of my voice often triggers the feeling of wanting to cry. I think it's a purely physical response.
