This is just a thought kapper when you have a steering wheel locked you can get up underneath the dash and Pole that little arm to release it or lift the hood up and disconnect it from the steering box there should be either two or four 7/16 bolts that steering arm is connected to the steering box. Another thought I could see you having on the back of your bucket to make it easier for yourself is welding a hook to a 3/8 plate first then drill four holes through it so that you're able to take it on and off as needed. Just a thought
Man, that was a close one, Kap. A bit frustrating that the hauling trailers don't have equipment to winch vehicles that need to be loaded. That was some great teamwork. Difficult as hell when the front wheels were locked in a turned position. Again, a fine job, Kap. Now go home and have a beer. If Mrs K ask how'd it go, just tell her...."piece of cake, honey" (smile). All in a day's work, one acre at a time (smile). Thanks for bringing us along, Kap. You've been one busy beaver on this clean-up and thank goodness you have an excavator and a lot of patience. .
To save all the grief , where are the winch carriers ? What a mission !! Getting there one step at a time phew !! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and healthy 🇬🇧
Occasionally I watch some footage of this endeavor and I’m quite stunned at the people who come to pick up and buy some of these vehicles and how absolutely unprepared they are to load this stuff just looking at it I know exactly what to do to load something and I have the equipment to do it, without you these people would be lost.
Great job kap. That was a tricky situation and you nailed it. Why these guys can't find a winch trailor is beyond me.i guess they don't have access to one and don't want to spend the money to rent one but most every thing Curtis has sold needed a winch trailor or a car hauler that has the winch . Could have saved so much time and wear and tear on your traco. But I believe your having fun doing all that because it also shows your ability with it to do different things. Be safe out there but keep em coming .this so cool to watch thanks man
Looks like some of these dudes just snap these vehicles up at a bargain price, without really bothering whether or not they've got the right equipment to take them away.
Wow you are a patient man! That guy in the orange needs to give his head a shake climbing in and out of the driver's door while you are moving the truck. The first time he did that I would have driven away and wished him luck getting it loaded.
I got a free Toyota FJ40 because the guy that bought it dragged it into the sellers driveway, and then abandoned it because the brakes were locked, and he couldn’t get it on his trailer. I had left my number with the person selling it, and they wouldn’t take my original offer. They gave it to me for free just to get it moved so they could get back into their garage. I did it with two chain comealongs and a couple of old jacks to hop it sideways to line up with the trailer.
when my two vehicles broke down on 85 Ford Taurus and 99 Buick LeSabre I have a 18 ft car trailer with ramps I use not one but two come alongs to winch my vehicle was up onto the trailer to take them home or go get them fixed yeah you should charge something for our loading those vehicles and something for your fuel just my two cents Jim and Colorado
Normally no, however i have seen a couple of custom built buckets for ditch cleaning that will go either direction. They also required custom hydraulic cylinders with a longer than normal stroke.
I would have thought a pad eye welded to the back of the bucket that you can put a shackle on and attach the chain to it. Gives a better angle and lift point, it’s what we have on one of our buckets.
I spent considerable time in Southern Ill. Working on the UP Rail Road. And several residents pulled up stakes and came to Arkansas. The real Estate Taxes where Exorbant and the good Jobs where getting hard to find. Lots of dead and Dying towns.
Hi hopefully you read this tips locked steering wheels can be bumped into a straight position with a dead blow hammer. Hit the steering wheel opposite side of the lock the vibration will cause the lock to jump a little allowing the wheel to turn in a little bit at a time have your hand turning the wheel in the direction you want to go takes a few times to get the hang of it but easily achieved
It may have been worth your while in the beginning to call in a mobile locksmith and have ignition keys cut for all those vehicles. That is typically what tow companies do with impounded cars.
Or get a tweaker! Those methed up crazy asses can take anything apart! They have slide hammers, would pop that tumbler out in 2 seconds! About 3 of them could have pushed that on the trailer.
A acquaintance who was a Deputy Sheriff once showed me how to disable a ignition with 2 bent pieces of wire. It took him 15 seconds. Took me 10 minutes. I'm just saying.
Ugh, what's the deal with people coming completely unprepared to pick up junk. I'm usually in and out so fast the sellers are always like, " you've done this before...". A roll back is the best. I cant afford to insure one. Ive got a Miller tilt top trailer with a winch mounted on a reciever hitch on it. with a snatch block or two I can winch anything up on it. I winched a non Running D4 caterpillar dozer with a blade and cab up on it. about 14,000 pounds.

Too bad the people picking this stuff up come unprepared and let’s face it they aren’t the brightest bulbs in the box. Great job on your part
Nor. is the clown operator
Kapper your patience is a virtue like no other. Intro music is awesome, I knew you were a ROCKER!
I bet there is a cup or box of keys in that house somewhere to all those vehicles .
If you dare go looking for it 🤣
Or a magnet box above the tire lol
In the house on a nail board.
If he was building a moat, he was way to paranoid to leave those keys outside unprotected.
Your a great operator and friend to help out Curtis. Time for you to take a break and deer hunt!!! Just saying a “retired guy to another retired guy”.

body dent puller works wonders on 80 Mopar ignition
I'm kinda wondering what some of these unloadings look like...
Nice job Kapper!
It's amazing how many treasures people leave behind instead of giving them to somebody who could use them they'd rather let them sit and write
yeah it is too bad. But at least for Curtis selling this stuff will help to pay for the cleanup. Thanks.
Need to tell them there will be a loading fee if they dont bring the right equipment
definitely!
The get free tires if they don’t!

Gotta wonder about their plan in off-loading it! 😲
Hey Kapper. Going to start calling you Saint Joe, Helper to those who come ill prepared.
You are a lot more kind hearted than I. He sure does have a lot of direction for someone who should have brought a winch or better yet stayed home.
I'd love to have that Ramcharger. Put a stamp on it and send it to Alaska.
Man I am digging these picking video’s, keep up the great job!
Loving this series. The Bobcat is earning it's keep.
Extracaliber That’s probably a Bobcat that the actual company should use for there PR brochures
Good effort there 💪💪💪
A couple of old tires (without rims) between the blade and the vehicle next time might make it a little easier.
Is there a winch shortage in southern illinois? I really don't understand it!
Matthew Duffy Matt, that one actually made me laugh out loud ! I needed that!!!!
There's a brain shortage in the United Sewers of America.

Next picker palace, cut in a loading ramp.
That chain ball idea is what you get when you hook real close thanks BigAl California.
A little late but could the bucket go on the boom backwards? Then it could have picked up the back of the Ram.

This is awesome .. thanks for bringing us along. Lots o crap in the back, any extra tires?
I'm surprised these people are even turning up with trailers! I could say more but it'd just end up being an angry rant.
That trailer screams demolition derby.
even demo derby guys know to have a winch
We had one just about as good for our stock-car. I don’t miss that trailer .
@@greggreg8799 i take the photos at Fayette county speedway every Saturday and I’ve seen worse.
I’ll still buy your property, if it is for sale, kool let me know thanks BigAl thanks.
The mini excavator sure can handle a lot of weight
Was the steering locked for lack of key or stuck from rust? Cause a lack of key is an EASY fix.....rust is a different story though
2nd , loving videos!!! Jealous on the land!!
Next time, put a tire or two, between the boom and the vehicle and move it. that way the tires take the weight of both without damage to either.
Looks like traffic is flying there be careful.........
Say good bye to one more vehicle in perfect rebuildable condition. BYE BYE.
Good thing you got the excavator don't any of these guys have winches
What a Cluster F.....lop. But hey, you all got it down the road.
Did ya'll get titles with the vehicles?
Nice , a little more safe now , if you keep closing the thumb so the chain can’t come unhooked, thanks BigAl California.
You guys could buy a can of spray paint to cover up the profanity on the trailer.

Buck that!!!
@@CedarBluffRustics any chance we can see a picture of the buck Mrs K ?

They some crafty fellas down there. Even had some left over green differential paint to put on it.
I sure do love a ramcharger! Just not this one lol
Evidently they couldn't take the tailgate assembly off or just opened it ? Good job !
Did they at least pay for the diesel?
Your the best.
ALMOST easier to remove tailgate. but you got it.
Thank goodness you had an excavator!!

why do these people buy junk vehicles and don't know how to load them correctly or have the right equipment to load.
The same reason democrats think biden is a good choice 😂

Need a skid steer to pick it up and put it on the trailer
If you turn the bucket around it would be easier to lift the truck on the trailer
Those 2 were very helpful unlike Curtis' buddy with the tractor.
Can you not flip the bucket around? Seems it would have been much easier to flip the bucket and pick up the back end right under the hitch.
Soooo how come no one up there has a winch on their trailers? They are very common in Texas.
Where you located in southern Illinois?
aint nothing going easy is it?
I'm not sure but why wouldn't you just use a rollback?
$÷time spent ?
