I bought earrings from Body candy that said it was surgical steel but after about 2 weeks the “gold” wore off and it turn my ears green and my long time piercings became inflamed and infected. And after I switched my jewelry to ones that I new wouldn’t bother them they returned to normal. Never buying from them again.

My wedding & engagement rings are sterling silver. I’ve been wearing my engagement ring for 6 years, wedding for 5 & I’ve yet to have them turn my skin green.
Any kind of gold reacts to my skin quite literally dissolves it. I was told by a dermatologist that those with naturally acidic skin shouldn’t wear anything but surgical steel. And if you aren’t sure what it’s made out of don’t buy it.
I have a question, which one would you prefer? 1) 14k Gold filled, brass OR 2) 14k Gold filled, Copper They both tarnish, its not water resistant, they both turn you skin green, and theyre not alloy free etc... and I have a really sensitive skin. But out of the 2 which would would you go for?
I recently brought a £300 sterling silver ring. It went black round the rim and turned my finger green within 2 weeks, I'm devastated. Company told me that it was my problem and they wouldn't do anything about it. Had my £100 white gold wedding ring for 5 years, never take it off and it's never changed colour. I'm honestly so upset about it
Then it wasn't sterling silver. I have NEVER had sterling silver turn my finger green NEVER. IF it tarnishes, I scrub it with toothpastes and a tooth brush.
@@zootasplace7344 this is the fear I have or it wasn't the quality that they said it was. I've been to a few different Jewellers with it and they've all told me a different answer of what it's made from. It's been exhausting.
So white gold is safe to wear then? I’ve just ordered a 3mm white gold plated chain, my first time buying jewellery, although I’m still unsure of weather it’ll go green or not
@@theeurodriver3378 it can depend on what the material is underneath it I have a gold ring plated in white gold. Im 5 years into wearing it and its turned to a light gold now but doesn't turn my finger green or rub off or anything. I wear it during everything, washing up, hand washing, showers, using hair products etc. But regularly use solver polish on it to care for it :)
it’s really weird but i never have allergic reactions to any metals ranging from expensive to super cheap unless it’s pure silver or pure silver plating- and i know it’s not the nickel because it happens only with silver
I have a question. No matter how well I take care on my piercings, they get infected. Is there people who are more prone to infection and even people who can't have piercings at all because of their skin or something? And I take very good care of them just making that clear. Lol
so i kinda need help. I wore this necklace and my neck turned green even though i didn’t shower with it. I have to go to an event in a few days how do I get the green off my neck i’ve tried rubbing alcohol but it doesn’t work PLEASE HELP!!
I guess my suppose to be "titanium" earrings aren't real then... because after like 6 months wearing (my initial earring for my conch) it became like darker ... so I need to look for better place to buy.
I think my ring is sterling silver the original colour was normal but now it’s like pink/rose gold and it turns my skin green after I take it off is there any way I can turn it back to the original colour?
My boyfriend recently gave me a matching ring and I loved it But it turns my skin green…. Still love it! Just it was concerning to me because that’s never happened to me with any ring or necklace I have.

The backs on my earrings get a greenish residue on them . Even ppl claiming their jewelry is stainless steel, most times it is not, in my case at least 🤦🏽♀️😭

The worst is if you buy/receive jewelry as a gift, everyone loves it, and then it turns you green! Horrible!
I don't really mind it since I am already green

GOOD:
1. Stainless steel
2. Titanium

What about zinc alloy
Steel causes rash

Higher end silver jewelry like .925 often come with a rhodium plating that helps it not oxidize. 👍
@@Shopluluave yeppers! Nickel turns my skin green, so I just avoid it.
Basically fake or cheap rubbish jewelry turns green or fades I have a 925 10mm curb chain it was like 220 and hasn't changed since November

You have great skin. Only the cheapest of metals irritated my skin. Still didn't turn it green.
So what about palladium and platinum?
My sterling silver from luxury brand like Tiffany and co HAS NEVER TURNED OR TARNISHED. So what are you talking about?
Exactly jewelry that are more high end have a protective coating over jewelry that’s last years. This is more on general consumer jewelry.
