You probably do not realize but your videos on bracing are the best from all videos on that topic on UA-cam. I've watched literally dozens of them. Not counting videos that talk about bracing as part of something else. You have a very, very good way of explaning how it all works.
I too spent years overarching my lower back and thinking that is the correct way. Lead me to a constant struggle to minimize pain, experiments with deadlifting, and stretching/movement/posture practices (Alexander, Feldenkreis), and I have become a kind of an expert in cracking my own back. Pain was always either present or around the corner. Deadlift always sucked and I usually got mildly injured when doing it - which was every workout I could squeeze in a busy schedule. The other day I deadlifted singles for 1 hour, every 2 minutes, no belt, just proper bracing. Zero pain. Absolutely zero. The example to visualize "latches" when bracing is golden. Thank you! Keep up the great work!

I appreciate the feedback! I struggled for YEARS with my performance and injuries before I stumbled across the right protocol. That's fantastic you got over that hump. That first moment when you pull without pain is like getting your first paycheck.

I second this. I've watched videos from many expert lifters and your videos are by far the best. I've now recommended your videos to pretty much all my lifting buddies and friends and I hope that it helps them as it has helped me. Thank you!

So good. THANK YOU. A LOT of women are looking for this in-depth information in mom blogs/videos when recovering from pregnancy. I wish they would all have you as a guest teacher! There’s a whole new crowd for ya! Most of us are not looking up info on deadlifting! These nice ladies are all talking about “gentle” movements to close up our split abdominals. Not much is being said about how it affects the spine, hips, whole posture, injuries while lifting humans and the million objects they scatter (as small as they are we probably LIFT 5000 x a day) and how forward pelvic tilt can pretty much ruin your life…. Maybe just maybe I can dream that women like me can have a better life with this info that you share.

APT led me to injure my back 20 years ago in bjj and I'm still trying to fix. This is gold. Dead lifting semi properly was the only thing that helped (after addressing flexibility - couch stretch/pigeon..). Only now do I feel like I'm 'getting it" of how to BRACE without hyperextending. Dead bug is a revelation for me - as a pre req to good planks and hollow body rock type stuff. At 51 I feel I'm making a break through on this. So thanks man - great content. I ordered your DL book

I hear every word, but cannot figure out how to get down into a squat anymore when I tilt my hips into the neutral position. Yes I'm tight then, but to be able to lower myself I cannot maintain it since I'm also locked into that tight standing position. So I do not understand how to move when tilting to neutral with tight glutes. I have to relax my glutes to be able to squat down.
