I'm not concerned about financial cost of holding Olympics. My real concern is about rampant corruption which has embarassed India during Commonwealth games. We, our politicians need to control their greed before signing up for any such big opportunity.

There's no point hosting the olympics. Even in 2036, when India's economy is 10 trillion, its per capita GDP would still not cross 10,000 USD in nominal terms. There is no doubt that the economic conditions will change soon and 2036 next 5 years are going to be a golden period for India if everything goes well (corona). I strongly believe the Indian economy is going to become stronger. Also, sometimes we should worry about money a bit less. India has a good scope for football, all we need is to dedicate 10 years on 100 players and once our football team start performing well agains international teams we will see a huge jump in the economics side of Football. Olympic medals need too much of change at root level which is something can not be achieved optimally by 2036, better we bid for Olympic when we are near 100 year of independence. For now I think football World Cup should be a priority.

I think India should definitely host Olympics as it also adds on to the soft power paradigm of Indiana foreign policy. As you have also mentioned that India will be $10 trillion economy hence it would be even lesser than 1% of our economy. Yet there are some precautions and witty moves that are needed to be taken to be well protected of the repercussions that might come along w such huge responsibility. No, I feel dreams should be big and if seriously we prepare we still can make it a big. The only reason is we are a Sports Goods manufacturers, We have stadiums across India which need to be refubrished to Olympic standards. We should not focus only to Ahmedabad, but can include Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Mumbai, Indore, and some of the other big towns with ready basic facilities. With this there would be development of infra across, giving push to sports at all these locations. Its not an impossible task to achieve.

In my opinion we should definitely bid for it. It will greatly improve our sports infrastructure and we still have 13 years for the preparation. By then India is probably going to be the third biggest economy. And we need to show the world that we can host the biggest sporting event in our country successfully.

There's no point hosting the olympics. Even in 2036, when India's economy is 10 trillion, its per capita GDP would still not cross 10,000 USD in nominal terms. Dear Prashanth Bhai, Olympic is a costly affair. What we want to achieve with Olympic can easily be done with the help of FIFA World Cup.
India has a good scope for football, all we need is to dedicate 10 years on 100 players and once our football team start performing well agains international teams we will see a huge jump in the economics side of Football.
Olympic medals need too much of change at root level which is something can not be achieved optimally by 2036, better we bid for Olympic when we are near 100 year of independence.

Yes, india should host olympis 2036. If we get the bid for that. I heard about it in the year of 2008, when abhinav bindra won the gold at olympis and that was a great news of that time. The participitation in other sports has been increased day by day. If this kind of motivation and goal are taken by the government than the players will get enthusiasum towards it. I think India should definitely host Olympics as it also adds on to the soft power paradigm of Indiana foreign policy. As you have also mentioned that India will be $10 trillion economy hence it would be even lesser than 1% of our economy. Yet there are some precautions and witty moves that are needed to be taken to be well protected of the repercussions that might come along w such huge responsibility.
In my opinion if it is feasible gov should constitute a budgetry Olympic fund and amount can be allocated to it bit by bit ( as 13 year is a long time). Also extra attention should be given to sports culture of the country till then. Many more points come to mind regarding this. We can't achieve big without sacrificing something. In geopolitics if we are not getting directly we should focus on indirect methods. Olympics may have a financial loss deal but it would create our soft power and tourism industry will increase its growth.

No, I feel dreams should be big and if seriously we prepare we still can make it a big. The only reason is we are a Sports Goods manufacturers, We have stadiums across India which need to be refubrished to Olympic standards.

Unless there's a very big financial benefit for us, no need to host Olympics. Tourism, sports and physical infrastructure that will generate money much after the Olympics is a distant memory would be a few financial benefits that might be worth it.
Otherwise, we can use a fraction of that money to provide facilities and training to our athletes instead and win record number of medals.
