- We finally got the opportunity to drive the Jeep Meridian - A 7 seater offering from the American brand. We tested all its 7 seats and drove it both on road and off-roads. Will it be able to attract buyers who are looking for a proper 7 seared with some off-road credentials? We tell you in this video.
I bought it last month and what a fantastic car it is..I bought this car after driving Honda Brio for 10 years and that transition from a toy car to this beast was so smooth that I can't explain in words. I drove all safaris, Harriers, xuv 700s before this one and this car is from another orbit. Jeep has come up with a masterpiece and more than that I feel so safe in this mini tank with my family..

Have done a long trip with this with more than 5 members with luggage.? If yes then how was your experience? Is the boot space sufficient with seven passengers
Coincidence i found this. Driving Brio since 11yrs and yesterday went to Overland launch. Booking it mostly. How is your ownership experience for almost a year now? Also felt Carens was more spacious…any thoughts you, others? Ventilated seats, window pull ups etc. missing which is there in half the price Carens. Thinking why this vs Carens, Kodiaq.

When a new 7 seater car comes to market, I eagerly watch the review, but everytime am disappointed with front bonnet height and 3 rd row seats, i just want someone to make a car to replace ford endeavour.. I miss that so much.

ICN, it's beyond my budget but always worth watching your videos.
I drove it at a dealer. Far superior built than toyota fortuner. Seats are extraordinarily built. Neat and simple dashboard, graceful looking. Built quality is quite higher than compass. I repeat ... Built quality.

the Jeep MERIDIAN 4WD + 2.0 in. Lift 2.2 TDI I4 5-Dr SUV (RHD) could seriously do with a front & rear lateral strut bars for enhanced structural rigidity . . . having said that it sure does need a proper heavy duty 2.0 in. suspension lift & 33.5 in. M/T radial tyres . . . afterall it's a Jeep . . . a turbo petrol would be much appreciated . . .

Almost all the cars in D2 segment won't have enough leg room for third row. That's the fact and we have to accept it.
Actually don't expect any 3rd row to be adult space. That thought is the major issue. It's a kids space for 90% cars.
Pls compare it with fortuner ... adult can also accommodate easily there
u can check out Gloster for thirt row ..comfortable for adults can say

Yes but for the third row… INNOVA, Fortuner, Gloster is a better choice… Atleast Gloster & Fortuner looks like a real SUV rather than just an overhang to a compact Crossover… still at the end its a personal choice…
Meridian is a bit confusing simply bcoz if you intend to use it as a 5 seater then why not save 5-6 lakhs and buy a compass itself? And if you want 7 seater… then again its not the best…

This meridian with same compass engine is not great enough!! Kodiaq with dsg is the one to go for or the fortuner for reliability.
Kodiaq only has a TSi engine option.. No diesel

200bhp with 450nm torque is must needed to counter fortuner
Isuzu mux is the only contender against fortuner. Jeep Meridian is a segment below to those cars.

First of all , it is not based on the Jeep Compass. Meridian is not an elongated Compass like many other 7 seater cars. The wheel base is completely different. The engine may be same but in a different state of tune.

This car has got so many disadvatages and its no where comparable to fortuner or ford endeaver:
1. The engine specification is same as Jeep compass which is very low powered compared to fortuner. Where is fortuner and where is this car. 500nm torque vs 350nm torque.
200hp vs 170hp
I don't understand the logic of having the same engine on a bigger car which is same in smaller car. How does this gives better feeling and it's a simple common sense. In India, Even a 7th std child can tell what is the performance!!!!
2. Last row is cramped and middle row cannot be adjusted to sit comfortably in last row. This is a basic common sense to provide a adjustable middle row but this is missing.
3. 35 lc - 38lc is very expensive and I am not sure who will buy this car.
I think strongly Jeep needs to think in their strategy when compared to XUV700 which is way way better than this car.
Jeep compass itself is struggling to sell and I believe their sales has been down compared to the launch.
I feel this car also will be a big flow show.
I think in another 2 years, Jeep will take the path of Ford.
Indians wants maximum value for their money as like XUV 700 or new mahindra scorpio N or tata safari or mg hector!!!!
Jeep is trying to sell something by just doing a small adjustment into the last row with an exuberant price and showing off road capabilities as like other cars doesn't perform. This is just a showoff and this car is absolute waste of money!!!!

What is the point of 7 seater when no one can sit in last seat, engine is underpowered even in compass its not power putting the same engine in more heavy vehicle, keep kept on increasing the price of its vehicles significantly base model which was of 18.X lakhs in starting is now of 21 lakh!!!! At the end it's not worth so much money!!!!
Conclusion: Either keep the prices low and competitive or introduce 4xe version at the same price point else bye bye Jeep like ford
Hopeless car ... bcz of 3rd useless seats they also lost the space for 2nd row too ... when u r spending more than 35 l u aleast want comfort on 2nd row .. not given recliner for 2nd row nor slider 👎.. big disappointment for brand like jeep ... they actually sale 800 -900 cars in a month I don't know how much time they can survive in india more .. I like compass but not buy bcz there sale is v less ..

Interior is great..only tires should be more atleast 20 inch ..this looks cheaper and rear end style looks cheaper Innova type not a proper SUV tipe...where rear end looks little upwards which doesn't go with overall looks of the suv..that's disappointment.. front looks good .. but only tires and rear end should be properly matched with this type of vehicle..really looks cheap when it's rear looks upwards little lifted up than front...

Don't know about vfm factor & engine power but it certainly brings an upmarket feel against same old fortuner.
Fortuner is just a joke now, the prices of fortuner is foolish.

3rd row is generally for kid's & average heights individual in all 3 row cars &

Bhai, all the footage used here is our own. We don’t use anyone else’s footage. Haan obstacles kyunki same they off-road ke dauran toh footages almost same hi capture hui hai.

Thanks for the feedback. Will be more careful from the next time. But we actually got the car for a short duration and we had to both drive and finish the shoot, and we spent most of our time in the former. 😅

The thing is that third row is completely useless so why would one choose to pay a more premium amount than compass and go for it and even this car doesn't get too much in features as well , ofcourse in comparison to Fortuner it has more features but in case of Gloster or if luckily the new Ford Endeavour now known as Everest in abroad this product definitely is a failure for Jeep India 🙂. Even lower segment Cars like XUV 700 , Alcazar gets betterly equipped with features which this one segment premium car does not at all.. So to go for this vehicle instead of its predecessor Compass will only be foolness that too knowing about its Torque in and also the lower segment as well. This product isn't practical in any sense.
