This was the turning point. The sight of all the Georgians' stunned looks is priceless.
1:51:08. 6 National Titles later what a run we have had since Saban got here.
Isn't that the truth. Shaun has never been so right!
It Still Makes Me Smile Shaun Alexander Knew That The Saban Era Was Starting And It Wasn't Going Anywhere For A While ROLL TIDE!!!
2020 still hasn’t gone anywhere
@@keaf3r492 STILL ISNT GOING ANYWHERE
It's crazy to see how stunned Georgia fans look after each Alabama score in the first half. Yeah, the final score was 41-30, but Alabama still dominated. This was the turning point when Saban showed he was going to turn things around for Alabama football.
***** The last time Tennessee won a national championship, AOL was the most popular internet service provider. And beepers were more popular than mobile phones.
***** yea, we suck. thats why we've won 3 out of the last 5 national championships, you dumbass
***** Don't be such a turd
The Tide dominated the 1st half. They only gained about 5 yards in the 3rd quarter and were outscored by UGA 31 to 10 in the second half.
Michael Reeves to be fair it was 41-17 with only 3 minutes left. 13 of those points came in the last couple of possessions with bama playing prevent D.
This was the moment Alabama sent the message "we are coming, and we are coming in force".
From the Blackout to the "Washout". 38-10. RTR!
Brett Conrad wrong
I remember this game, my brother and I went to Tampa and watched it with Georgia fans at hotter's in tampa, it was fun!
One of my all-time favorites. Georgia looked good in funeral black.
Living in Georgia, this was about as sweet as it gets.
This felt like a blowout back in the day. Now days it would be considered a close game for the Tide. Roll Tide!
this game in 2008 was the stage that put Bama back as a championship team after a decade of struggling
No it was the Clemson game to start the year in the Kickoff Classic.
GrooveDoctor77 Honorable mention goes to 2007 win over an Arkansas that that had pheolix jones and darren mcfadden
I remember that 1st year Saban 07 really had a lack of talent that got worse when that book scandal took a host of players out,. I cant remember the Ark game really but I remember Mcfadden.. was a beast ,
that game got into the 40+ range for both teams I think... last minute drive to win it all for JPW...Bryant Denny was going nuts. One of my all time favorite wins for sure.
GrooveDoctor77 The fact that Saban took a gang of 2 and 3-star under-achievers, recruited by Mike Shula, and won seven games, is a tribute to his coaching ability as well.
The names dropped in this game are just insane, JULIO JONES, A.J. GREEN, MATT STAFORD, D'ONTA HIGHTOWER, MARK BARRON, MARK INGRAM, KNOWSHON MORENO, ETC. WOW
And they've never worn the black jerseys since
The Squid rip
Are you sure they didn't wear it ?
We did in 2016 against UL-Lafayette.
Only against teams they knew they could beat😂😂😂

One of the worst nights of my life as a Georgia fan. I'll never forget it. I was a sophomore in high school.
+Robert Instate did you watch yesterdays game lol?
Thats the night the lights went out in Georgia. Lol, good game Bama! Looking forward to October 3rd ;)
Roll Damn tide 205 Georgia and Alabama should play every year in my opinion.
This is the kind of brotherly love i like to see
Roll Damn tide 205 I'm intrested to see who will get to be starting QB next year
i don't think it will be Coker it will either be bateman or cornwell in my opinion
Roll Damn tide 205 I missed last years Spring game but i know from Florida States spring game Coker wouldn't be a good choice
I so loved visiting GA that weekend being in their stadium to see the meltdown. They were leaving the stands by halftime, so they didn't get to hear us sing Rammer Jammer in THEIR HOUSE!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL
That first half was the best I have seen by Bama. Only thing close was the first half of the BCS win over ND.
Blackout in 2008 and the Washout of 2015. See the pattern.
And now the Mac attack of 2020
This game was the birth of Alabama as we know it today
It was a blackout all right. And Alabama went in there and lit it up! LOL
YES thank you sooo much for uploading this!
I remember this game, my brother and I went to Tampa and watched it with Georgia fans at hotter's in tampa, it was fun!
This was one of three games I went to as a UGA student. I remember checking the Georgia Lottery numbers at the game and discovering that the winner was 666. That was no doubt a bad omen for Georgia.
P.S. I stopped going to the games because, as an introvert, they were exhausting for me.
You stopped going because they suck.
Georgia hasn't wore their black jerseys since this game... Roll Tide!
Maticus Ray actually we wore black Jerseys this season so get ur fact straight
Sports And Politics News Network - um, I made that comment 2 years ago.
Are you sure they didn't wear it ?
@@johnlampros4728 UL Lafayette brother. go dawgs
MATICUS EXPOSED
All those Bama freshmen (Donte Hightower, Julio Jones, Mark Ingram, & Mark Barron) playing like they were seniors
This is where Mark Richt learned that there is more to coaching than Superficial gimmickry.
this game was the start of the dynasty
Well I'd say Saban coming in was the start
damn right
Under Richt, Uga was a springboard for many future National champs.
Houston Howie I personally think the Clemson game at the start of the start of the season was the beginning of your dynasty
NCISfanatic21 fuck you niga
This was the game where Nick Saban announced to the SEC that there was a new sheriff in town.
INCREDIBLE UPLOAD!!!!!! thank you!!!!!!!
That game was over at halftime: Bama 31, Georgia 0.
Since Saban has been at Bama we've played 3 National Title games and 2 SEC Championships. This is still my favorite game of them all. Might be the fact me and Dad sat at halftime up 31-0 with our jaws on the floor.
Cool win for Saban and the Tide.
okrajoe not I hate Alabama Crimson tides
I will never forget the looks on the dawgs fans faces. lol
So fortuitous to hear them talk about the expectations being sky high for Nick Saban. I don't think anyone could have imagined on this night what Alabama and Nick Saban would accomplish over the next four years, much less the next 7. It's truly an exceptional feat, not likely to be match by anyone, anywhere, in college football. There might be another Saban out there, but there is not another Alabama.
Yes please upload the Clemson game if you have it... that was really the coming out party.
Thing I remember most is how everyone thought there was NO WAY Bama would win. I was on hwy 78 in Georgia and my Georgia buddy called me and said hey, after tonight, ya'll may not lose another game. I said, I don't know, we took UGA to OT the year before with a much worse team, I think we have a chance. He said, c'mon man, Bama's not ready for this type of game yet but they will be there in a couple years. We got to Athens and no UGA fan thought Bama had a chance. It was a just a formality that UGA wins going away. It was hey, ya'll might keep it close. I had never seen a group of fans so confident. We had gone through the probation years where we couldn't beat anybody but that was over and I knew we were due to become Bama again. The UGA fans were stunned and us Bama fans knew we would win in a rout. It was time for Bama to be Bama again.
Great story. Not sure what it is about UGA fans. They have the arrogance of Michigan with the trophy case of BYU.
As a Uga fan, it's quite obvious which team improved the most that year since the 2007 game where Uga won in overtime.
2007 was the end of the great run by Mark Richt. It was a downward spiral after that. 2008 they were embarrassed by Bama and Florida and lost to lowly Tech at home. In 2010 they lost to Central Florida in the Liberty Bowl going 6-7. Many big money boosters and alumni wanted him fired after that game.
The University of Alabama has been and always will be a DYNASTY, We are college football pride "Crimson Tide"
has been? so how good were they before saban
the best
Wrong.
Completely wrong
@smoothcollected We sucked under a few coaches before we got Saban. We had some good years as well after Stallings left but things were dark for a long time. Saban getting to the SEC title game was a sign of things to come tho
Julio Jones is a legend
Great game to attend
Saban doesn't like to run the score up. He took his foot off the gas on offense.
Alabama was motivated from the 26-23 overtime heartbreaker & dog pile in Tuscaloosa, AL we did to them in 2007, it motivated them 365 days later to ruin our blackout in 2008. As UGA fan, I hated this game so much, but this was the first game when the Crimson Tide officially came back to life and has now won 3 out of the last 4 national titles. The 2008 Georgia Bulldogs team has the worst defensive coordinator in the history, Willie Martinez, same year Richt suffered his only loss to GT.
Shaun Alexander was so prophetic!
I remember thinking we were about to make the biggest comeback in SEC history when Prince Miller ran that punt back for a TD at the start of the 4th quarter to make it 17 unanswered points...we just got down too much in the 1st half to have a realistic chance
Nick never runs up the score but believe what you want and enjoy your second half while ill enjoy the fact we won.
You got the 2008 LSU overtime game? Or the 2008 36-0 Iron Bowl blowout?
I remember watching this game and the score doesnt do it justice , 07 was the intro year but bama really started turning up the heat around 08
Exactly what's going to happen in the 2021 SEC Championship game provided georgia gets there.
I remember when ESPN had that scoreboard :)
Love it when they underestimate the Tide!
i expect a similar outcome when the tide returns between the hedges this season. except i don't forsee any georgia fans/players wearing black EVER AGAIN after we embarrassed them in this game.
2008 was an embarrassing year for Georgia in big games. This was also the year that Urban Meyer and Florida got revenge for Georgia’s egregious end zone celebration the year before by burning all three timeouts in the last two minutes.
Wow, Shaun Alexander had no idea about how right he was going to be
best game ever
Expert Bonnie 1987 worst game ever
+Christian Russell bitch undefeated and the best team in the country
Do you have 2008 Clemson game?
im an Auburn fan and i like watching this game. reminds me of when we were beating georgia 38-0 in 1999 before they made the score closer.
Roll Tide !!
That Julio Jones kid probably gonna be alright.
Yeah hopefully my Falcons team will draft him and if they do I'm sure they won't do something dumb like trade him or anything
I seriously thought this was the game where Georgia showed the country they were legit BCS title contenders. OOPS!!!
I don’t think Georgia have worn those black jerseys since. Pity…..they are nice looking jerseys. Roll Tide!!
Georgia fans are so cute in their black
has anyone noticed that UGA was ranked in the top 5 consistently with Richt?
I remember. He was a good recruiter and very popular with players and fans and administration. Could never win the big games.
Poor old Moreno was so excited to get the piss beat out of him
I clicked on this to watch staffford. Im a Lion fan :p
lol. Knowshon? I've heard it all now...Or is know, nkow, n'kow, a derpa derpa ding dang
+Joey Walker you're in the KKK aren't you...
No sir, Im African American. Just because my name is Joey it doesn't mean i'm white. Racist..JK..Kind of
Joey Walker HAHAH naw I was saying that cuz the way u reacted to the name "Knowshon" but I get it...it is a pretty "seriously?" type name haha
I don't like the SEC since I'm in the Big Ten but your cheerleaders are hot as hell.
Sour grapes man.If I remember correctly you guys were thought to have been the national champs that year. Bama being a thorn in that GA side again I guess.
I wish Georgia would were these jerseys again, I know they lost to bama wearing them, but they look so cool. Better than those god awful nike pro combats
did Coffee ever make it to the pro's?
John Parker Wilson was a good QB and he had a great game..... it would be nice to see if an NFL team will give him a chance
Stephen Mendak 3 teams gave him a chance and he didn't pan out. He had a great senior season at Bama, though. QB sneak during OT at LSU is his claim to fame.
Stephen Mendak He was only good when he was not under pressure. But in the heat of the moment he would lose the game for Bama. Case in point 2007 against Miss. St.
could have sworn this was when georgia was #1
ROLL TIDE FOREVER !
no
He retired or left the nfl, joined the army and is now an airborne trooper.
my god he spoke the truth.
I don't care how you want to try to intimidate a Nick Saban coached team. It's not going to work. You just have to try your best. Poor Georgia.
GA was an undisciplined team in this game, and remain one today in 2020. It is why they never reach their potential despite good enough talent to win the "Big" game. Didn't then, can't - and never will - under K Smart who is a good D coordinator, a good recruiter but not a big game head coach nor championship-level program leader.
It's a shame for GA and really a shame for their recruits. They keep getting really good recruits who buy into the false promises of a NC. They will waste their careers at GA if they want to be champions.
Do you feel better about yourself after writing this nonsense?
All that holding blocking in the back on kick returns and still got beat bad at home
1:58:37 HE FELL ON DA BALL!!!!!
after Georgia's performance last weekend against the Vols, all I can say is good luck. And only the tide rolls!!
1:51:15 Shaun Alexander sideline interview. He said words here that are lush with accurate prophecy.
Finally, this game gets reupped to YT
Roll Tide to you sir.
"true, but bama just got off to a good start, thats all, kind of like when a&m beat bama last yr A&m got off to a good start then bama finally stated catching back up, you know how that feels right?"
While i get your point. A&M had 3 good drives in the first 10 minutes. That's a "good start." When it's 31-0 half way through the game though...I'd have to say that's less of a good start and more of a good majority of the game(by definition 1 second into the second half).
When you're leading 41-17 up 24 points with 3:15 minutes in the game. "Good Start" doesn't really cut it.
go G
yes, he played for the 49's
I'm still pissed about the sec 2012 champion game....
lol. haven't used 'em since
This was the turning point in Alabama Football under Saban. I remember all those years sitting and watching the Mike Shula teams and Mike Debose teams then to watch this team take on what I always consider Alabama Football. Hard nose football. Roll Tide the start of it all. This game told the SEC Lookout Saban is back and he is he has a plan and he is at a place he can recurit. Roll Tide
i was at the game! RTR
That 2008 UGA team was a huge disappointment. Any time Richt had a good team they would underachieve.
Shaun Alexander being prophetic at 1:51:20. Any stock tips, Shaun?
i've been trying to 'pinpoint' the moment the Dynasty began. Was it this game? Was it the block? was it the win over florida in the SEC championship game? Who knows...
thug on da line krayzie bone
Haha ill also celebrate the SEC championship game last year in which Alabama beat Georgia again. Ill also enjoy the fact that Alabama has won 3 out of the last 4 national championships.
Shaun Alexander interviewed at the 1:51 mark, "Hopefully we are going to see some Bear Bryant type days." Well, 3 National Championships later...
5 nattys later
Why the hell is it called the blackout game?
RTR!!!
last time they tried that bullshit I think
Are you a coach of Alabama?
I didn’t need this recommended.
Alabama slowed it down to not run up the score and embarrass Georgia.
ROLL TIDE.
