My hair gets up by this power adrenalin orchestra attacks. WoW 😮 Jerry Goldsmith was realy the greatest composer who lived on this planet! So wonderful and harmonical...RIP Maestro Goldsmith
In 1979 a certain event hit the media all over the world: the escape of the family Strelzyk from East-Germany - in a self-build balloon! This quiet cinematic plot was indeed filmed just a few years later in 1982 as international Disney-production, starring John Hurt among others. The film, pretty enjoyable focuses more on its job as family picture, instead of dealing with the problematic political situations of the time - so most of the critical voices. But all in all, it is a Hollywood production that does its job to entertain. What stands out, however, is Jerry Goldsmith’s magnificent score, with lovely themes and splendid orchestrations, which I hope you now will enjoy!
Spannende Interpretation dieses aufregenden Meisterwerks mit farbenprächtigen Töne aller Instrumente. Der geniale Komponist/Dirigent leitet das funktionelle Orchester im inspirierenden Tempo mit effektiver Dynamik. Einfach erstklassig!
Huge appreciation for the way this has been knitted together - really sounds like a proper orchestral suite. Am sure the quality of the music made it a bit easier, but even so, it works so well!
Wow Fred! This is an especially nice one. Again, a fantastic OST from Goldsmith that I had no idea even existed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
If you enjoy this soundtrack, you have to see the film. It is amazing. The 2 minute voice over leading into the opening track is absolutely bone chilling. You can really feel the desperation in the situation and even more when music kicks in. This is one of my all time favorites.

If it wasn't John Williams or John Barry it was Jerry Goldsmith. What a trio of composres ! Only John Williams is still at it at age 90 !
The awesome 80s. Outstanding film music everywhere.
