Congratulations! Beautiful new home and property, that is a dream shed/barn! Best wishes on your future journey. Think of all the space for your chickens to roam!
I just found you through your chicken videos. Your new homesite is beautiful. I hope you will post in the future as it would be wonderful to see your progress as you "tame" your new property!
Hi there. Glad you found my channel. Yes, I will have update videos coming next week. We finally closed a week ago so we can get work and make it home. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Congratulations on your new home!! Hope you will start-up your flock again. Still watch your chicken flock video's from the past. The best to the both of you.
Nice to see you are still around sharing. Don't skip drainage! I'm in hurricane territory too & you need one 8-inch or dual 6-inch smooth-wall pipes to flash-flood-proof a 1/2 acre. Best of luck with the build. I have a drainage-playlist of YT's best drainage videos, you won't be required to have an engineered-drainage-plan but it's not as productive to skip it.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the information about the pipes. I will share with my husband. The good news is the sellers trucked in alot of extra fill dirt so the property sits up higher than the neighbors. More new videos to come. Take care!
Catching up on videos, somehow I missed this one a while back lol....Really happy for you both, take all the peacefulness any way you can get it, that's a great property! And I really like the exterior color also, I agree it works! 👍
Thanks Rick! The coop goes up next week and then chicks arrive the week of July 10th....20 girls and 1 boy! Thanks for watching! Lots of new videos coming. Take care!
Man, I'm excited for you. I can't wait to watch what you do. My goal someday is to have a winter home in North Carolina (OBX) fingers crossed. It's fun to design landscaping around a new house. I had fun doing mine.
Thanks so much! NC is beautiful! I love plants and flowers. I'm already brainstorming on how the landscape will look and then make it come to life. Factoring in deer and wildlife too. Then a nice big coop of course. More to come.
Great news! When your video started, I said “Wow, their house is done!”, lol. Can’t wait to see what you build for a coop. Will you make it like your last one?
Ha ha....that would have been great but not the case. That builder had not even gotten the permit yet to clear the land. Crazy. This new home and land will be awesome! The new coop design will be similar but bigger....like 8 W x 24 L. About 12 girls with a roo. It will be fun to pick out breeds. Stay tuned. More to come....🐓 😊
IDK about your State but here in mine you should build your fence 6-inches onto your land so that your neighbor has their 6-inches of encroachment-by-law to work on their land. My State also requires six month notice to your neighbor to make changes to a fence built on the property line, but 6-inches onto your own land doesn't require any notices to neighbors.
Hi Bob. Yes, we planned on putting our fence just inside our property line. We have zero neighbors around our whole property on all sides. It's all vacant wooded land around us. It's not even for sale at this point. We checked. We do have nice neighbors across the street and then more scattered around the area. The advantages of living in a rural area outside of a traditional neighborhood. The peace and quiet! We have a beautiful lake near by too. Thanks for watching!
Congratulations, it's very nice, I like the shed, it's going to make a nice work shop, but welcome to hurricane alley, I live in a tropical rain forest up in the mountains ⛰, it's a trade off, beautiful area, but it comes with a yearly hurricane season, I also have a shed, it's 12 x 16, tiny compared to yours, but like the coop I'm building, it's made out of steel reinforced block and concrete with a 6 inch thick steel reinforced concrete roof, like the coop, it will brush it's teeth with a category 5 lol
Thank you! We are excited! That workshop is huge...1000 sq ft. We will run electric to it and outfit with lights etc. It's steel and made to withstand up 150 mph winds. Let's hope it doesn't get tested anytime soon. We will have a full size generator for the house. Wouldn't be without it in FL. My coop won't be as tough as yours but I've been lucky to not loose one to a storm yet....lol! We use steel brackets to reinforce the 2x4 framework and roof which helps. I can't wait to get chicks! Thanks for watching another video! 🐓🥚

@@colesbackyardcoop Looking forward to them! I’m getting my first chickens this May:) Delawares and Welsummers.

Wow that’s the dream! ☺️ my mom and I can’t wait to see ur future coop!
Thanks to both of you for watching! We are excited. Stay tuned for new videos of the progress. Take care! 🐓🐤🥚
I know how you feel! I went from a 50x100ft lot to 3.5 acres last year and love it. Never going back.
Thanks for watching! That sounds great. Congrats! Nothing like watching deer and wildlife on our own piece of nature. That's good living.

@@colesbackyardcoop You can always do concrete footers for your coop, see it as insurance, they work pretty good for high winds.
@@MosaicHomestead Great suggestion! I have a guy that will build it when the time comes. I'll tell him about this. Thanks for that. 😊
