I think adding Virts best runs on each map from last week. Then the WR's from last week. Then see him discover and play the new maps :P This way it's all fresh from last week and still see the new stuff.
I feel like the weekly shorts are a great way for content creators to not be that dependent on the seasonal campaign and create regular content. Love the update
as someone who has speedran a game before that no one else was actively running at the time: Not having an active leaderboard you can look at will immediately kill your drive and motivation to keep competing in just a handful of runs. Seeing the leaderboard on the side of this mode is a lot more important for motivating players than people realize.
My vote is all content for the maps in one video - however Wirtual is my only source for Trackmania ‘news’ so the timeliness of the content is completely irrelevant to me.
I think you can show your previous best run on the last week's map followed by the WR and then play the new maps. That way it can possibly send people to past videos to see the discovery of the last maps
This is great, I'd change it very slightly though. You get the discovery in time in one video and later you get maybe a few of his runs + wr in a second video.
I have 2 different format thoughts: *A) 2 sections for the video...* 1. Put all the tracks, discovery for a while, like shown here. _ALSO show your best run through the week!_ 2. After that for all tracks, go back through them for the leaderboard / times / top runs like this video's end. -> This format jumps away and back to the same track, but is kinda cronological. _--- OR ---_ *B) All combined per track.* Discovery, your best time, and reveal leaderboard / top runs for each track in sequence. -> This format would jump through time for each track, but not jump away from and back to each track. _--- Either way ---_ I think it's fine to release it a week after they are available, and you COULD also quickly preview the new ones at the very end of the video for either of the above formats. There's flexibility for how much that would involve (show thumbnails only, load the maps and fly around, or ??)
22:54 I think to draw people back each week for more videos, you should have last weeks records at the start of your video in the new week. I definitely felt like I wanted to watch this video because I was hoping the records for last week were in this video. The “being behind the news definitely isn’t the best option in my opinion. I also don’t believe breaking them out into 2 videos would be the way to go as you have to bring people back twice as much for the same results.
Personally I disagree. If you are someone who plays these maps and follows their development it would be better, but as someone who only watches the videos, seeing the solutions one week later may mean that you've already forgotten the theory crafting and wirtual's line. It would be like receiving the solutions to a riddle you have already forgotten, underwhelming.
Personally I would change the format of the videos from one of pure discovery to one in which you see the progress throughout the week (obviously only if wirtual hunts them) and then publish it as a small recap of the previous week the day the records are revealed. I bit of a kacky style video where you see multiple sessions of gaming.
Here's my take. The real ones (veiwers that watch for tips/news) will watch the Stream VOD anyway on UA-cam, which already has the previous WR then new maps format... The way this was done, we get an edited summary of each discovery along with the final results in one package. Its better because it's not just a clip of one stream imo.
8:38 it absolutely would NOT i was super happy to hear that non-paying players can participate, until i found out they can't see the leaderboard at all (yes if u didn't know, they indeed can't) and you grind for a bit, get a nice pb, but what's really pushing you to break that pb? not much really... it gets so so god damn unfun so quickly, when i know for a fact i would grind way more if i could see it it's such a horrible move by nadeo to let non-paying players play but not see the leaderboard, i hate it
@ideallyyours read it again, i was referring to that specific mode, it's an event, usually non-paying players don't get to participate in events, but this one was "special", non-paying players get to join!!! and this event is all about the leaderboard and "how u cant get to see the time of others but u get to see where you place" and what-not, but oh wait... non-paying players still don't get to try in the core mechanic and purpose of that event... like... really?? so for non-paying players they're ultimately just normal, random maps with nothing even remotely special do u think nadeo really let non-paying players participate just so they can have 5 extra maps to their already low collection? when they made such a big deliberate decision to let non-paying players "experience the event", the obvious chain of events was for nadeo to simply let non-paying players experience the event, but they went out of their way to not let them experience it to the fullest it's just such a super weird way to go about it, why even let non-paying players participate if they.... simply can't? like why even be like "F2P can join" but then also ruin it right after, that's why im upset
@@ohimdabiggestbird If you look at Ubisoft as a for-profit company, which they are, and view any F2P elements as "get players to try parts of the game so they will pay for it", then you'll understand why the carrot is dangled like that. @ideallyyours obviously, i get what ur getting at, but lets be real, the "bait" of events as a whole would be a greater source of subscriptions of players, compared to the lack of a leaderboard inside a free to play event. the notion ur describing would presume that somebody refused to purchase the game at all turns until he realized the free event lacked a leaderboard, and that somehow against all odds got him to purchase the game, that doesn't make sense lol see where the problem is? this decision (of letting non-paying players participate) can't be for the pockets, as it would have been way more profit-effective if they left the event as a desirable purchase-unlock item (as i have explained above)... so, what was this for? imo, it must have been, or at least was supposed to be a crowdpleasing move, to get players that haven't played in a while to reopen the game, and stuff, yk, get a little main stream, but obviously they messed it up completely for non-paying players im not trying to combat making money, but since we know what this is about yet they still fuck it up, it feels like a slap to the face

I personally would love to see the discovery and then the world records for all of the maps in one video. I don’t mind being a week behind, it feels like a more complete package.
I don't play trackmania and just watch these videos so I personally want the records at the end of the video. It being 'old news' doesn't matter if I am never up to date anyway.
I love watching you run the tracks, then watch the records for say week 3, all in the same episode, instead of going back and watching the previous week
This weekly content from Nadeo is a genius way for them to increase their metrics of "active players" as Ubisoft is majorly shitting the bed and axing smaller devs constantly.
i managed to get author medal on my first completed run of the reactor map last week - as someone who normally takes 10-15mins to get gold medal I was very happy
I think being "One week behind the news" is alright, because I also want to play them before I see your strats for exactly the same reason - I want to try and learn, then I can see your learning process, then I can see the record - That'd be my vote, but any method really, these maps are really fun.

I’m not a player so I enjoy a video of you driving and then showing at the end as a crescendo to the video. 👍🏻 great content so good it makes a non player happy
i think reviewing last weeks records and then playing discovery of the new maps is a great combo would get me hyped, seeing last weeks discovery runs compared to the actual records and then see the new maps, questioning myself what the strats for them might be also could upload a video about hunting one or two of the weekly maps, if there are interesting / huntworthy ones (huntworthy = you're intrigued by them)
As a former player who just watches now I think it's a better viewing experience to see the records after the end of discovery and it doesn't matter that it's a week behind, but I can see people playing the game would want it to be current.
To the people saying the leaderboard makes this irrelevant: I don’t think so. Imagine you’re second place and you’re sitting there staring at first place’s “Secret” time and you’re wondering if there’s a strategy you simply don’t know about or if it’s just your run wasn’t perfect. That mental game is a lot of fun IMO.
What if on week X of new short tracks, you start the video with the results of the previous week’s records, then go into the week X short tracks discovery?
Do the maps and the records in the same video. Although you'll be behind, it'll ft you channel style more of being quite evergreen and each video standing on it's own. If you separate them, people have to hunt down the next one.
I would like it if the reaction to WR was Edited in after your best time after a map. That way it's fresh in our memory what your strat was and we can see what's different with WR. I know it breaks the continuity, but I think it would be a better viewing experience.
The joined one video where you discover, show your records, and then show world records is a great format for when there is a story to tell with the hunts. The battle for first between you and Scrapie the first week would have made a really great video as you traded the #1 spot a few times and on a few maps. If all you're doing is discovering though, I don't think there's any value added by making it a single video a week late.
Id love to see your first impressions on the maps at the start of the week and have a recap of world record and your best attempts when the results are in. Also im quite interested in the first weeks runs, since I'm not an active player myself
Something that would be nice is to show your progression as well, it could divved up in 2 parts, your progression and records (if played that week) + records of the maps, and the seconf part that is discovery of new maps (would love to see your process to winning week 1)
The leaderboard should “top __” to be vague. Like even if you are 56 it would say “top 100” second place is “top 10” but only WR is specific and tells you that you got first place.
You could get in touch with a few other players and do a video on them hunting the maps. Something along the lines of a real time battle for faster times.
as a casual TM viewer that only really watches Wirtual, I don't mind being behind a week and prefer having the full tries + records/results in the same video for all maps, for what it's worth. I get trying to keep up but it feels the narrative of the video holds better when it's all the same maps. Alternatively, having a video with wirt runs and a video with records also possible but more yet shorter uploads, might disturb the sleeping population
As you said - this is good content. I think you could make two videos a week. One where you review the world records and try to replicate the strats (or maybe have a goal of getting top 100 after seeing the replay). Then the other video would be like this - a discovery of next weeks map
Wirtual, In terms of formatting these videos, it’s better for timing if you show last weeks records and discovery for this weeks in the same vid, but it’s better as a video and watchability if you have the discovery’s and records of the same week in one video, might even be better for watch time cause people will want to keep watching and see the record f what you’ve just played.
On the water map uphill i got my front left tire stuck in the middle hole which spun me around on the perfect angle to smoothly with speed enter the checkpoint. Im not good enough at the game to convert it into a good time tho but i feel like the strat was good
I found a huge skip in the week 3 map which has dirt and ice hills. If you take dirst first then cross the scenery and jump to the ice, it is so much faster
I would rather see last week's results and this week's maps, as I think it would give me a wider variety of maps to be interested in during the video and it would get me interested in next week's video. Thanks!
i love the idea of showing the record at the end. i watch your vids alot and seeing you play the maps and how you play them spoils it abit for worse players like me so its better at the end of the week. i think its good like this. just tell us your time you had on the maps again before showing the record as a comparison thank you
Reveal/react to maps at the end of the vid is better for watching on the spot. But adding the reacts to the start of next weeks vid, will get ppl clicking your next vid
I know it is a minor nitpick, but it kinda annoys me how Wirtual keeps getting the Top X-number wrong. An example is at 11:58 where he gets the spot nr 2875 and says Top-2000. No, that is not Top-2000, since there are more than 2000 players better than him. That spot is Top-3000. Apart from that a very entertaining video as always. :)
Maybe you can do two videos, one with your discovery runs, so also you can teachs some tips, and another with your final records and the records to see how all finished.

The leaderboard should “top __” to be vague. Like even if you are 56 it would say “top 100” second place is “top 10” but only WR is specific and tells you that you got first place.
I like staying up to date with the news plus people are more likely to come watch the next video to see where you ended up the week befofe
"yooo 54 minute resub!!! its almost been an hour" I LAUGHED SO HARD I DONT GET WHY FDJSAGFKJSDA
It’s crazy to see how much better scrapie actually is
loving this video format
Maybe the leaderboard should tell you if you’re top 1000, top 100 and maybe even top 10 but not tell you the exact spot
couldn’t find something to watch while eating, then this pops up
5:34 I think comparing in terms of execution is absolutely meaningless, but i'm happy if he uses the same strats i found
As you said - this is good content.
Anyone got the song details from 16:03
Boxplot - Only Us
@@eRasown THANK YOU
Put out a poll
I personally want to see it all in one video
On the water map uphill i got my front left tire stuck in the middle hole which spun me around on the perfect angle to smoothly with speed enter the checkpoint. Im not good enough at the game to convert it into a good time tho but i feel like the strat was good
As someone who doesn't really play, but enjoy watching you, I prefer the records coming right after like in this video
I like this format, first playing, then watching wr. It being a week late doesn't matter, would only spoil tricks for people who also play the maps.
I found a huge skip in the week 3 map which has dirt and ice hills. If you take dirst first then cross the scenery and jump to the ice, it is so much faster
Being a week behind on these might be better anyway, as that allows people to go into the current week blind while still watching your latest video!
Nice having the record reactions in the same video
whats the name of the first backround music ? :D please and thank you !
I would rather see last week's results and this week's maps, as I think it would give me a wider variety of maps to be interested in during the video and it would get me interested in next week's video. Thanks!
i love the idea of showing the record at the end. i watch your vids alot and seeing you play the maps and how you play them spoils it abit for worse players like me so its better at the end of the week. i think its good like this. just tell us your time you had on the maps again before showing the record as a comparison
thank you
Reveal/react to maps at the end of the vid is better for watching on the spot.
But adding the reacts to the start of next weeks vid, will get ppl clicking your next vid
I agree with showing the records at the end :)
Love this format
I know it is a minor nitpick, but it kinda annoys me how Wirtual keeps getting the Top X-number wrong. An example is at 11:58 where he gets the spot nr 2875 and says Top-2000. No, that is not Top-2000, since there are more than 2000 players better than him. That spot is Top-3000.
Apart from that a very entertaining video as always. :)
Maybe you can do two videos, one with your discovery runs, so also you can teachs some tips, and another with your final records and the records to see how all finished.
