Thanks for the insight! I'm definitely going to pick up the 4.25in model shortly. Hopefully from Springifeld these issues were resolved but now I know how to resolve them. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing. I got 4.25 that I will check this on it once I get it out of layaway 😁. I specifically waited for the issues to be worked out from Springfield. Hopefully this newer version is better then the first batch.
Great video my man. Very good info. Just want to reiterate what you said, less is more when polishing and filing, you can always take more off. Stop before you think you need to and head to the range to check. Thanks for the video.
The problem with the disconnector is how it interfaces with the leaf spring. Filing it down might alleviate a symptom; but, it won't get rid of the problem.
Im finally picking mine up tomorrow 4.25. I waited so hopefully they got these bugs fixed. I really like this gun. I would love to get a staccato p. But I just can’t justify spending 2500 + on a hand gun.
Anyone know how much Springfield saves by cutting back on quality control? They also had serious issues with their EMP 4. I asked even saving that much, don’t you loose more by doing the warranty work. Answer, “most buyers don’t shoot, the ones that do and see the issues will have it repaired at their local shop, sell or trade the gun, some will use the warranty and the rest(which is the least) will leave it in the safe and not use it”.
My prod 4.25 . I put a wolf 17lb main spring. That made the biggest diffrence in lower recoil and easier to rack. I adjusted trigger to 2.5 to 3 lb like yours. The trigger is amazing. I also put a egw guiderod buffer and that also reduced recoil and smoother since it isn't metal on metal. Will increase slide life also.my buddy who owns a staccoto c2 actually shoots my prod better and says my pistol shoots flatter then his c2. He was shocked and pissed.
Also.. this idea that only hand fit 2011’s are great is something dumb someone came up with that clearly has no basic understanding of machining or quality. Part are hand fit due to tolerance variances of different manufacturers. I don’t think an argument exists there. That and machines that aren’t capable of holding super tight tolerances. You don’t have to hand fit parts when you can hold +/- 5 micron tolerances and have things like machine vision systems and CMM equipment for inspections. All things Staccato now has. Much like Daniel Defense their machining process are decently automated. Robotics machine tending, machine vision (as stated), material handing, and CMM ON TOP of human visual and gauging inspections. If I know my part tolerances are that tight PLUS know my costing thickness (called out on the drawings and verified via inspection) the need for hand fitting decreases. This idea that staccato’s being mass produced = less quality is completely and utter nonsense.
Glocks feed the case rim under the extractor the same way dude. Haven't you fed snap caps or dummy rounds from the magazine before? Blows my mind that people share knowledge as if they're experts, but they get so much of it wrong.
Doesn’t matter what you do to the Prodigy. It will never match the quality of a staccato. Yes you can get it to run and run well. Still won’t be the level of quality that Staccato is. I build 2011’s and own multiple Prodigy’s. I can get the fitment op par with staccato but it takes extensive work. The chambers are notoriously under sized/not finished. The early 5” had to much slide mass. Cerakote uneven in the disconnecter hole. Barrel linkage/timing problems exist on just about all of them. Undersprung recoil spring. The Titanium firing pins bend and the spring is extra extra power. Don’t put angles on your damn slides 🤦♂️ staccato doesn’t do this. Clean up the hole in the frame and tune the dang leaf spring.
Safeties fall out.. The slide catch pin should be fit. It’s not a drop in part. Some dropping into some guns but not in others should tell you everything you need to know. Tighter gun “locking up” is straight up bs! The amount of crap spewed here is insane 😂
I've had a p and a c2. Sold both. They are very nice 2011's. I've built so many I personally can't justify the extra $1,000 for one. 10 years ago absolutely because they were hand built. Now production is so great they are manufactured just like the prodigy but with better parts. Just hit 1,000 rounds today with one and yet to have a single problem with it. Side by side with my P I couldn't tell the difference shooting it besides the grip texture. And the early prodigy models did have barrel fitment issues. But so has staccato and glock. Every gun manufacturer has hiccups.
@PnP-td1mt appreciate the comment but like I said I could have fitted the slide stop. The lock up on the one it dropped in was perfect. Just like cars there is no two identical.
I want to know what you think “built” is? My current “build” for limited optics consists of a cheeky frame, cheeky e2 grip, Atlas slide, red dirt trigger Atlas ignition kit.. The frame rails are cut large and have to be stoned down. The finished pistol I currently use in Limited optics is a Staccato XL with a cheely L2, red dirt trigger, Atlas safeties, atlas ignition kit. I don’t believe for any amount of time that you owned a Staccato and sold it.
My apologies on the 1911 DS comments. Going back and forth with another “UA-camr” over the 1911 DS and how he thinks it’s on par with a Stsccato 🤦♂️ The amount of nonsense and flat out lies people come up with to justify their purchases is insane. I actually build guns. I am an engineer in the aerospace industry and an experienced machinists. I have been working on the Prodigy since its release. Fixing disconnecter hang in the first week of their release. Taking mass out of the 5” slide writhing the first month. I have my own port designed for a bull barrel 1911/2011. Timing issues, tight/unfinished chambers, Cerakote in the disco hole, to much disco spring pressure, safeties that fall out..

I feel their "500 break in" is that extractor wearing that screw down that's rubbing on it.

Thanks I'm definitely gonna do this to my progity lol

Just hit 1,000 rounds through the one that wasn't taken apart. Not one single hiccup so far. Just posted a new video shooting it.
Good info man.

@@Eaglefirearms staccatos are very nice indeed. But a well tuned prodigy runs just as nice imo.
Is the Progidy the advanced model? I have a Prodigy...
Words are hard lol. This was filmed after a 10 hour work day🤣

And I'm the warranty 🤣 I own a lot of guns. 95% bought brand new. I've never used a warranty before.

I have a c2 and I can agree. Both my prodigys shoot faster. Glad you have been happy with it

What about the bul armory sas II Tac and the platypus?
Saw your other video with the beretta clone, would you say the 2011 is superior to the beretta? After all of the alterations and everything of course.
The disconnector sticking is from the stupid amount of cerakote on this thing. Now the only parts left Springfield on mine is the barrel and slide.
@@drtmi8789 no coating on the disconnector or the sear spring.
@@richardwilliams9815 I know that. It is in the hole that it rides in. Clean the cerakote out and polish the hole and it will be fine.
