So the kid didn't learn anything...his brother didn't shoot that girl bc she was a stranger, he shot her bc she refused to stop & was probably a scout for that gang of raiders. The kid gets his brother shot, then shoots some innocent guy just bc he's there; it wasn't his camp or anything, the guy was happy to see someone...
I enjoyed the film but would've preferred to see the kid join with the newcomer, as another brother of sorts, showing the compassion & humanity that the raiders are so obviously lacking, rather than seeing him become no different than they are.
Still, great acting & a good piece of film all round.

i agree, but i would also like to add, that people are the scariest thing i can think of. hell just look at the epidemic we are in right now. theres a virus sweeping the globe and alot of countries are locking down, you know the definition of shtf. and most economies are crumbling, most are failing. yet its not the virus i am afraid of. not but maybe 2% the other 98% of my fears are the disgusting humans. whether its government, police, or lunatic civilians hoarding toilet paper. shit is about to get very very REAL as they say. and its gonna be the humans that cause the majority of the deaths before this is over, not the virus.

He should have left the kid with 2 cans of food and that 1911 as soon as he took it upon himself to brake cover and run into an blind structure unarmed. based on their cloths and the condition of that optic, they've been doing the lone wolf thing for at least 6 months. Yet the kid still hasn't figured out that this is not a game and actively seeks to be a danger to the both of them.
There are 5 key rules for lone wolfing in boogaloo
    1. Size and weight constraints are law. (no carrying useless shit like a Vader mask.)
    2. You are the minority. (majority of people will gather into micro community. This automatically shows that the lone wolf has actively chosen to go against that natural method of survival.)
    3. Never sleep at or close to nightfall. (cover of darkness is default for those who lack the training to engage in active aggressive combat. Making night time the most likely time for a raid or attack.)
    4. You will be doing all of the things. (sanitation, cooking, hunting, fire building, wood cutting, security, etc.)
    5. You are the hunted and you are ALONE! (the lone sheep is an easy target and is doomed to abide by it's own thoughts. The main benefit to micro community is that you have other people to help. That means calling you out when you have a stupid idea or plan and being able to work together to devise the best solution. By yourself you are a slave to your own experience and lack there of which will always result in fatality when faced by an outnumbering opposition. No matter how good you are, a intermediate team of dedicated people can and will take you out of the game. That's just a matter of time.)

I know that the sound of guns cocking sounds cool in movies but in the beginning the guy cocked his rifle twice without firing it and then every time he picked it up. In a situation such as they were in a person would have a round in the chamber every minute of the day as sometimes just the second it takes to chamber a round could be life or death.

    • @McFartsnatcher
      @McFartsnatcher 3 роки тому +7

Totally agree. I never understood the reasoning behind "oh, let me chamber this round in right before I assault [insert area/building/people/person]" here.
It's loud, gives your position away, and just dumb. Always have one in chamber.
Same goes for people that believe the sound of racking a pump action is a great way to scare off an intruder... You just gave your position away or lost a valuable time advantage.

What a great lesson for all those out there who seem to lack the "common sense gene ". If your not willing to kill then your willing to die.

but, they weren't surviving - they were merely existing until it was their turn to die. the way basic human biology works is that neither your community nor your species can survive when you have only two related males living alone and killing anyone who comes in range. Had they not killed 'Anna' ... they may have had a chance. She might have been a spy, or she might have not. The guy at the end certainly wasn't a spy. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time - and met one of the surviving dregs of humanity who had a gun and no brain.

The sniper shot the first guy in the head and somehow missed the other one. The guy inside had cover and could have started firing on the people outside since they were in the open and in the field behind the hey, he could have pinned them all down or shot them, meanwhile he is in the house and can move freely because they can't see trough walls.

Seventy two hours is somewhat of a myth. Stores and gas stations...sure. But there are weeks worth of food in the world and weeks more planted at any given time. There are huge amounts of fuel in storage facilities / refineries. So before this becomes contentious, consider that farmers and oil workers know more about their own businesses than preppers do. You have more than 3 days food in your house right now...and another 3 at the stores, etc. Also...72 hours is a world average...not Western standard. There's a weeks worth if calories in any vending machine...add some venison...

@@chetisanhart3457 I agree, to an extent. 72 hours isnt so much a myth as it is a standard. Its a standard set by FEMA to have a "stay in place" supply of necessities. Typically, FEMA thinks they can rescue us all in 3 days. Do you trust FEMA? Or any other government agencies for that matter? If you do then youre relying on the very people who will most likely be the ones who turn off all our power, etc. So, if you dont trust them, whos advice do you rely on? Preppers? Most preppers are youtube educated. A few have real experience and military backgrounds. This is NOT a recommendation to join a militia. Most militias have been documented down to the individual members.
There are multiple end world senerios which are percisely exacting to the very spot you are standing in with multiple variables based on where youre standing that particular minute during any given day. You simply cannot prepare for all of it. There are too many ways any preparation would be useless. What do you do then? Like anyone else...use common sense, be fully aware of your surroundings at all times, know how long it takes to get to your survival stash and compare it to the time you might have to get to it and get out. But what if you work some place where there isnt any news being broadcast all day long? If theres incoming nukes you only have 30 minutes. By the time anyone who might care about you gets a phone call through youll probably already be vapors. Any prep you did was useless. Prepping requires so much to be useful. It almost has to be a day and night obsession. Obsession in the sense where youll most likely be so obvious that everyone around you will know youre a prepper and think youre a total nut case. Fact is, you pretty much will be. 72 hours? Thats some government lackies idea of a "nice round number" to attempt to inspire calm among the pleebs so chaos doesnt break out at first "breaking news" telecast. Government IS GOING TO LIE TO YOU. The reason for this is is because something called "continuity of government" which is a far greater priority than there being anyone left for government to rule over. The pleebs are expendable, government is not (their perspective, not mine). If the pleebs go crazy, the roads and every other means to escape are immediately filled with these "non essential/undesirable" people. If the egresses are blocked the elites cannot get their families out of harms way. So simple solution: dont tell anyone until all the important people and their families are safe and fuck the average Jack and Jill and their families. Hopefully Jack and Jill have there homes outside the blast and fallout areas and work close to home and have enough supplies for a FEW MONTHS or even several years. The oil workers who know their industry and where all that extra oil WAS, before everything went up in smoke, are most likely dead. So are the others you mentioned.

This was excellent. The storyline was well done, the video work great, and the sound perfect for the inspiring mood of dread mixed with emotions. I would have watched more if there had been more, but I feel the story ended perfectly. However short this seemed on screen, I know the time to make it took much longer due to the quality. Thank you and the others for all your time and effort on this production.

The entry at the beginning would have put the shooters in a crossfire situation and with that auto rifle, there's a chance no one survived that encounter. The shooters included.

I agree. Realistically they would probably only do that once. Somebody learning the hard way that's how you end up with a gaping leg wound from "friendly fire".

But probable? .... I doubt it. We've all seen "that guy" at the range. SHTF were to happen IRL firearms will account for tons of "Darwin Awards"
Already precedents for it historically. As while sickness took a bunch the number of people killed by accidental discharges on the wagon trail west (1800s U.S.A.) was really high too.

I'd rather breach a cabin solo than with 2 untrained dudes. I also wouldn't breach a cabin and do CQC during SHTF unless it was absolutely unavoidable.
And definitely wouldn't do it with folks using full auto...

If I lived long enough to reach the point of equilibrium. Decide by observation if whoever is left is worth getting to know personally.
We are a social species but being a sociable introvert does have it's survival advantages.
