Hey Spanish learners/foodies! 🌮🌯
We're on a mission in the mission to find out if Mexican food in the U.S. can match up to the real deal from Mexico. First up, we'll be going to classic local spots in San Francisco. Spoiler alert: SF is known for having some top-notch Mexican eats! Then we will be trying some popular commercial Mexican food franchises.
I'll talk about the cool history of burritos and give my honest ratings on each dish. Are they as good as the ones in Mexico? Are they even better? Tune in to find out!

You know, I really felt like I've gone nowhere with Spanish but, I listen to things in Spanish and study every day. I don't think I can write in Spanish or speak it well but, I at least understood 95% or more of this video. Heck, there's people who speak to me in English that I'll only catch 95% of what they say so, that's not bad. I loved this video! Thanks Ali!
Have you tried DreamingSpanish? It was an absolute game changer for me. Apps like duolingo and textbooks/classes don't even compare to DreamingSpanish.
95% is amazing!
Go search up "Language Transfer" and find the Spanish one, it helped me understand sentence structures/grammar, basically how & why this word is placed at a certain place. Additionally, there's A LOT of vocabulary that you learn throughout an episode, which also comes in handy. It's all audio, and there's over 80 videos I believe, I highly recommend it. Last summer I listened up to 20 episodes but stopped, so this summer I'm hoping to find some motivation to rewatch all of them 😅

I'm so happy that I found your channel since I started to study Mexican Spanish because it's perfect for studying. You always pronounce words clearly, and therefore I'm able to understand 70-80% of the spoken words. Also, there aren't many Mexican UA-camrs who focus on teaching the language, so your content is quite unique in this way.
Your vlogs are my favorite type of videos because I'm always learning (more or less) some things about Mexican culture.

Ya sé como hablar español pero a veces me gusta escuchar a diferentes acentos pa practicar. Sería brutal si pudieras venir a Puerto Rico en el futuro pa probar la comida y ver las playas, el morro, el yunque o lo que sea. También pudieras hablar con la gente aquí y comparar el acento con tuyo. 🇵🇷🇲🇽

I love Taco Bell! I'm from southern California and it was always a special treat growing up. It's obviously not authentic, but still good. You should try some more things there. That taco didn't look great. I live in Mexico now and that's the one fast food I miss the most!

This is the first video I’ve watched fully in Spanish. I usually put a video on while I eat but I’ve been really into learning Spanish so I seen this video and gave it a try. I’m really seeing my Spanish comprehension is getting better! I’m surprised how much I understood! I had to put the captions on because my ears are not trained yet, but it’s baby steps fasho!

I’m from the US and it made me giggle once you got to Chipotle. I don’t think anybody here considers it real Mexican food lol but it can be tasty. And yeah a lot of us get Burrito Bowls. I’m really enjoying this video though!
*Also Taco Bell is definitely not real Mexican food. I wouldn’t even advise you eat it 😮

En mi ciudad que es Gdańsk, tenemos un restaurante llamado “El Pueblo” 🤠 y lo parece mexicano, pero aquí puedes probar la cocina Tex-Mex. siguiente en que ya he probado era “Papa Diego” aunque suena Latino es como una cadena de estos restaurantes. Así que los puedes encontrar en diferentes malls.

Near the beginning of the video, the waiter says "lleva arroz y frijoles a un lado." in the context of the conversation, I'm assuming that he's telling you that it comes with beans and rice on the side.
When I look that up on three different translators, it translates that phrase to say, "take rice and beans on the side."
Can you help me understand this?
Yes! In that context, “lleva” means that “it comes with”. It’s not its literal definition. It would be the same meaning as in “viene con” or “trae”. “Lleva” is slightly more informal than the other ones, but very often used!
CHIPOTLE it's not Mexican food, neither taco bell , Tex-mex food nothing too be compared to Mexican food, just ask to foreigners from all over the World that traveled to Mexico.
