This is a silly question, but I always see in media that people cut off the tip of cigars before igniting the tip. Why is this done? I am curious because I see can just lit up cigarettes without cutting the tips.

Thats not silly at all!
My grandfather actually lighted the Cigar and only after cutted the tip.
I do this way so I can taste the notes before I light it up and to know how is the draw
