Like the scene when the boat sank, no one knew the boat was gonna do that! And all the other actors just went with it! That scene truly speaks to the ability of those actors
Yeah, also, did you know that the guys with the string instruments were originally just hired as extras but they all turned out to be an awesome flash-quartet who improvised all of the music for the entire movie? Unsung geniuses.
My favourite thing upon re-watching this is noticing that no one ever called out to catch Joel's attention. He just looked over while walking along the street and yelled "what?"

I'm 100% positive that the original Titanic was, in fact, improvised. Like, not the movie 'Titanic', but the actual boat. All those people just came up with it on the spot as it was happening. How they didn't win the Oscar that year is beyond me.
