10 years since this happened. My mom was supposed to run the Boston marathon . But after she strained her muscle on her leg she declined the marathon in 2012 one year before the Boston marathon bombing .
Something I respect so much about Americans is how people come together after something tragic has happened. That they get stronger and don't let themselves be knocked out of the field.
They're getting hit mostly because of the useless wars in other countries which makes people come back with vendetta. The politicians benefit but the public is harmed. It's sad cycle. The govt shouldn't be money hungry or poke their nose everywhere.
I lived in the town where they had the shootout and eventually found the younger brother in the boat. That house is literally only a few blocks from where I lived and you can still see the bullet holes in some of the houses. A lot of residents were forced to LEAVE their homes with only the clothes on their backs as SWAT teams came in with rifles loaded. We were locked down, told to shelter in place and it was absolutely frightening. You will never truly understand the "terror" part of Terrorism until it comes to your town, and happens to you.

Feel like this is a sign from God! I just visited Boston for the first time last week and it was beautiful! Passed by this one store that caught my eye because of the countdown on the window, “Marathon Sports” is the little store. Went and asked some hard working men that were in front of it and asked them what it was for! Sure enough it was for the Marathon that’s upcoming and one of them shared that the spot where we were standing at is where one of the bombs went off, and sure enough I looked and there was a small memorial by the road. Beautiful beautiful city, want to run the Marathon one day! May all the souls who were lost rest in peace ❤️

So many movies about the Boston marathon bombing. I didn't need another. I was there. I lived the lockdown, the fear. I lived alone in a Boston suburb at the time but for a decade before that lived all over Boston and Cambridge MA. I consider Boston my american hometown. I am a dual European /American citizen. Naturalized American. What made me shiver when I found out where the brothers lived was the fact I had lived 4 blocks away from them for years on end in East Cambridge MA. I remember vividly that moment. I will never forget the feeling being locked in my apartment while active mass killer was on a run in the area. I went to Boylston street after they reopened it and took flowers to the makeshift Memorium they had across the library. I also used to live 2 blocks away from Marathon finish line and always went to watch the final. Not in 2013 though. Boston strong
I think this was really badly handled. Why did they expose their faces. Also the boat was block away from where he abandoned the car. The police was searching every single house - how come they missed a boat with blood. It really reflects bad on Boston police. They put general population in danger. The real hero is the Chinese Guy… he really had some guts.
i’ll never understand how nobody in charge looked up at the map and said “wait a minute, he abandoned his car here yet the next street over isn’t even in our search perimeter!” feel like that got swept under the rug real fast
I was very little but I remember when this happened I didn’t fully understand but I remember clearly watching the footage of the man with the white hat walking away from the bombing and I remember watching the footage of the bomb going off clear as day I was about seven years old at the time and I remember sitting in my living room with my grandmother and seeing the pictures after they were released and for the week or so that followed continually seeing the video of the bomb going off. Seven years old I’m turning 17 in June, we were learning about this case in a class of mine at my school and my teacher played some of the video and we all were stunned we all started to remember it and just kinda stared watching. The memories of watching it played back in our minds I even did the sign of the cross which I only did once in school before when we were watching footage of the war in Ukraine.

I ran the distance then got hit as well. I happen to be a first responder at the 2nd blast. While I have never been a registered runner, the volunteers gave me a completion medal for the help I gave.
I didn't sleep until they found him in the boat. I was glued to Twitter and an online police scanner.
I was working for MIT on the weekends when this event happened. I would pass by the back area on campus which would end up being the area where the MIT officer’s life ends. I remember when Cambridge was on lock down when they were looking for the guy. I looked out of my apartment and there was no car or anyone on the street. The only store I remember open was Dunkin Donuts. Watching this will bring back memories of when I lived in Boston.
Can’t wait to watch this. Rest in peace to the people who passed away
I Waited 2 years for Netflix to drop this what a crazy case
Hard to believe it's been 10 years since this. Whew.
It's the Boston version of "where were you on 9/11?". I remember I was in Disney World and we were getting ready to go to the boardwalk resort. My mom told us to wear our red sox gear and we were confused and then my mom told us why. I was only 9 but I still remember it pretty well.
Hahahahah!….. noticed that’s what most of the comments are…..
I was alive on that day pissing and shitting. You don’t say
I just watched this tonight and oh my gosh.. It's so good! So well put-together. I hate to say that coming from a "show", but I always wondered if we'd ever get a glimpse of what happened per timeline and it was really eye opening. I cried throughout the entire thing, for what everyone had went through. The scenes with the bombers and the recreation of events, gave me chills. And other things that were so unbelievably horrible. What the victims endured, what the police were up against, etc. it's the stuff of nightmares. So powerful. Mr. Meng, who escaped to contact the police, is a frickin hero; who knows what could've happened had they managed to get away. All I can say is, God Bless the people of Boston and I'm sorry for this tragedy. I hope the victims' families were able to find some healing. May peace and love be with you all.❤️
I remember walking down Albany Street to go to a doctor's appointment, and there was an honest to God tank in front of BMC.
And they shut down all the trains and busses, so if you didn't have a car, you were screwed going back and forth to work.
Raise your hand if you've been watching Netflix for a long time🤚
Me
Shut up
10 years since this happened. My mom was supposed to run the Boston marathon . But after she strained her muscle on her leg she declined the marathon in 2012 one year before the Boston marathon bombing .
17 years since the London bombing. I moved to London in 2013 thanks to a very delayed flight. What is the point of these stupid comments here?
I was at my dorm at Northeastern when this happened. This looks really good, can’t wait to watch it!
Rip to the victims that died
Krystal Campbell (killed by first bomb)
Martin Richard (killed by second bomb)
Lingzi lu (killed by second bomb)
Sean collier (shot and killed by tamerlan tsarnaev)
Dennis Simmonds (died from head injuries from pipe bomb thrown by dzhokhar tsarnaev during the Watertown shootout)
My heart goes out to that 3 people and that police that died because of them. For me the real hero was the Dun he saved many lives and ofc the officers! Amazing production.
Wow I remember the day this happened . I was in 6th grade and we watched channel 1 news everyday before class started. So sad . And it’s crazy how much time has passed
wow I was only 10 years old when this happened and I remember watching all of this live on the news
I use to live in RI,and have driven past the Exact 2 spots of where the bombs blew years later, all i can say is that it was a Erie feeling
Will never forget day this day in life, on my way into town to work....mom & dad was right there in like the VIP section, called her on the phone to check on them, she's on the phone running to safety...this shyt was crazy.
netflix always hits it out of the park with their documentaries.
The new mh370 doc is awful lol
@@MisterRawgers It got bad when they let the conspiracy people talk.
@@johncooper7663 ever stop to think WHY they did? #1 why not explore the different theories? #2 the fact is lots of ppl feel the way they do about the crash. Not saying the majority or myself for that matter but it was interesting to see where the rabbit hole takes some ppl. The best docs explore all aspects and that exactly what they did. When you start leaving different views out you do a disservice to the event as a whole.
@@jessvan1206 The conspiracies that they presented were garbage. Some Russian, no motive supplied, jumps unseen into a hatch that is by the flight attendant station. Closes the hatch then plugs not into a computer and overrides the pilot and goes to Russia. Crosses multiple countries air spaces unseen and lands to never be seen again. Manufacturer states that you can't fly a plane from a computer. Impossible.
That's why. You're asking people to Listen to flat earth theories.
I was in 11th grade history when this happened. My teacher was supposed to run in that race but thankfully he was there with us. A lot of his friends were there though.
I was in the office nearby and felt two large bangs. We thought someone dropped something heavy upstairs.
My coworker showed me news footage online and I realized it was some sort of bombs went off near the finishing line.
We have a few coworkers volunteered for the marathon. We immediately tried to contact them. I did a headcount and make sure we located everyone.
That was a very traumatic day.
Netflix makes outstanding docu series.
They never explain why the Saudi National smashed his phone when he saw the police approaching him. They go right to the black reporter talking about “islamophobia.”
And he then says….”ANYBODY COULD HAD SEEN THIS WAS A TERRORIST ATTACK”….. it’s like these people have zero self awareness!!!!!
I think he was afraid. He was caught in middle of itm
I was mind blown at the shoot out with cops trying to apprehend these guys. Unreal.
I ran the marathon that day. I had finished and was in my room 1k from the finish line. I could hear the sirens and then getting messages asking if I was okay. I watch everything I can about that day.
The Movie was very well made! Hope this is even more thrilling and vengeful!
Man remembering that from 10 years ago jeez .😔😔😔😔😔
Bring back Mindhunter!
I was out of school that day in 7th grade when I heard about the bombing. I also remember seeing the manhunt happening on TV later on that week too. It was so crazy and surreal.
This is an incredible tragic and sad story to all the victims but I love that movie Patriots Day, it just shows how fast and well coordinated the government is in finding these guys
Yeah patriots day was such a great film, showed everything without being some bs action movie which I thought it was going to turn into, I don't really see a purpose in this documentary when it's already been done with patriots day
@@zoinksrodan7644 I’ll watch it I remember I was a senior in high school when this happened in 2013 it was scary, everyone wanted to know who did this and for police to find them and they did so incredibly fast within 2-3 days it was over
@@zoinksrodan7644 Patriots Day, at the end of the day, is a piece of fiction. Sometimes it’s nice to hear directly from the people who were there and involved, without the limitations of a movie
I enjoyed Patriots Day and I think Peter Berg is a solid filmmaker but he loves to inject a lot of intense fiction into his movies. It’s like the true story but on steroids.
....no,....it's a pack of lies.
I remember watching this manhunt on the tv when I was a child. It was super wild and scary
Patriot's day with Mark Wahlberg is an overlooked movie about this. Great movie.
Whenever there is crowd gathering, I always fear for any explosions to take place.
This happened on my birthday I was turning nine years old that day. I remember I went to a museum on my birthday little did I know about it five years later I went to Boston.
That is the Most Boston 911 operator ever lmao
I remember when this happened the Chase part where they chased the terrorist was where my little sister was living at the time and I remember I just freaking out being worried watching the news waiting to see what happened thankfully that was able to contain it before more people died at the terrorist hands the cops definitely didn't waste no time!
Netflix documentary is boss level 🎚️
I will never forget watching this happen live from my 8th grade history class
Wanted to watch a documentary about the bombing. Instead, got lectured about "Islamophobia"
Just skip that part lol
I recommend watching Patriots Day if you haven't. It was a very touching movie about this incident.
I still remember that entire night playing out on social media. One of the wildest, most terrifying nights on Twitter, with how quickly things moved
Wow can't believe its 10 years already. What a complete waste of life for nothing. Those poor people
were is this music in the documentary it is amazing!!!
I still remember waiting tables when my buddy, who worked at a hospital in Boston, sent me the pic of the one brother when they found him in that boat
The intensity was so much in Boston on searching the perpetrators, because everything initially changed after 9/11 and no one was gonna get loose on this. Awesome job to the FBI and RIP to victims who lost their lives that day! 😢
I remember women having crushes on Dzhokhar and they called him a jihottie. Ahh, memories
Actually there's not that many. I respectfully disagree and feel Documentaries like these are very important.
Very intriguing. May the victims rest in peace.
Excellent series
Watch Patriots Day while waiting an amazing movie! So so sad rest in peace to all the victims and I pray all survivors continue to be strong.
That was a great film, very informative about what led up to it as well as the aftermath
So were the cops that unloaded 100 rounds for really no other reason but anger ever get charged or fired
i’ll never understand how nobody in charge looked up at the map and said “wait a minute, he abandoned his car here yet the next street over isn’t even in our search perimeter!”
feel like that got swept under the rug real fast
I remember first hearing about this in class & then watching the live news coverage of when the bomber was cornered in that boat
Can't wait to watch!
Nobody makes a documentary like Netflix 🔥
This was so scary to simply watch. Can't imagine how people must've felt living it.
How many movies, tv shows, and documentaries will be made about this marathon. It’s time to move on
Кто после Каны? деппа
I would recommend watching the HBO documentary on this- Netflix docs have really gone downhill
The friend they had in this documentary, almost defending one of the bombers, disgusted me. How do you consider someone a friend still that killed people, including an innocent child.
Agreed 100% I was absolutely sickened by that guy.
Yep, the woke bs from Netflix on this was disgusting.
most US veterans have killed people, including innocent children. They are your friends, your family and you thank them for that service. Let's call a spade a spade. Your issue is not that he has killed people, but that he has killed the 'wrong' people.
@@curtisd2842 there’s nothing woke about this documentary
Define the word woke before talking trash
@@yougotrice9655 yes it was. All the crap about fake 'islamaphobia' and how they have been the real victims every time one of theirs kills people. Fking sickening
This is just every news broadcast and pov captured that day turned into a netflix show. Netflix must really need money.
Honestly, this bombing could have been a whole lot worse...
I wonder if Netflix will make a documentary about a nearly forgotten SK that terrorize New Jersey
The forgotten SK that terrorized New Jersey has entered the chat.
Probably not
Saw that movie already Mark Wahlberg is the main character there. But today Netflix remake, I'm absolutely excited 🙏🏼 but rest in peace to those who perish that day the marathon in Boston🙏🏼
