Your video helped a lot. I just installed my WaterDrop with the added faucet. 16,000 gal. filter. Installation took about one hour. Not bad for a 72yo. Thanks Again
I used the Woder brand in-line filter for around 4-5 years. The one you have now will do the same thing the Woder did. After a month or so your pressure will gradually get worse and worse. About 2 weeks ago I decided I'm tired of not having full pressure on my cold water and installed a dedicated faucet. Luckily I have a stainless sink and just used a step-bit to drill the 1 3/8inch hole for the faucet. It's the exact same brand as the one you're installing (WaterDrop). Super easy setup like yours but with the dedicated faucet. It has excellent pressure and now I have full pressure on my hot/cold. After a couple months you may have to re-evaluate and upgrade ;). Alsooooo This is HANDYDAD TV BY GOD....I think you can drill that hole in your countertop if its overly expensive to get a tradesman to do it. Keep up the great videos!
Just finished installing one & was so impressed I decided to check it out on UA-cam & your video popped up. Your video presentation is one of the best I’ve seen. Now I’m getting one.
We installed the same make with its own spout in the installation kit. We have been using it now for two months. Very satisfied with it and the price is right. Simple even for me to install.
Easy install. Had to move the ice maker water line to the opposite side to the output of the filter. County water now tests at 200ppm. I thought it would test better but it has a good clean test & definitely acceptable. Thanks for the help!
I’m sure there are better filters out there, but this one is good enough for me. I’ll have another video coming soon with a before/after of the first filter replacement.
Very nice video. My 10u was not dedicated and I live alone and have low water usage. The unit was nearly excellent for 9 months (just outside of service policy). One morning the cold water did not even flow and there were low pressure noises in the line. I removed the filter and put it back in, only to get a few minutes of water flow. Ordered a new filter, which worked only through the carbon rinse. I think the head unit is malfunctioning. Going to try a different make. There's nothing like good clean water.
If you replaced the filter cartridge, the the issue is your faucet, not the filter. Remove and clean the aerator. Test the flow without it. Replace it if necessary.
@@handydadtv I removed the filter completely and water flow has been excellent. Problem only occurs with filter in the line. I may try another new filter before giving up on it. I still think it's the device the filter locks to. Thanks for the reply
Great video, Thanks. It made me chuckle when you dumped the remaining filtered water into the sink. (and the part where you approach the refrigerator with a glass and the water dispenser is gone, lol)
I believe 1 year replacement is for people using it for reverse osmosis only. You might have to replace it more often as you dont have a dedicated water spout for it
This like most filters, uses activated carbon. After only a few months tests have proven that there is a higher bacteria count in the filtered water than tap water because organic material starts growing in the carbon. I cant imagine what it would be like after a year.
I plan to replace it annually. Have the new filter in the garage waiting to do a follow-up video. I will do a before/after taste test and flow test. Stay tuned!
Any ideas on my problem here? I installed one of these and it worked great for a few months but then all of a sudden when I turn it on it makes a loud "duh duh duh" noise and the water shuts off. I have to use the regular faucet (i have a kitchen faucet that has a drinking water tap together, only the drinking water one is filtered) and jerk the water handle off to full flow real fast to get the water filter tap to flow again. How do I fix this?
I’d remove the filter and put the lines back to just the faucet connections to test the faucet. If it’s not the faucet, I’d contact the filter company to get a replacement.
Does using the hot water WITH cold turn the filter off? like if using warm water to wash dishes, will it be filtered? I don't wanna waist my filter life on washing dishes.
Warm is a mix of cold and hot, so it will be partially filtered. But it’s not a big deal. Be sure to watch the follow up video: ua-cam.com/video/lK7BolzixW0/v-deo.html
After about a year how you liking it? I just installed this kit but seen some horror stories on the Amazon reviews of this. Have you had any issues with the push connect fittings or housing leaking?
@@handydadtv Thanks I have been looking at their filters, are you still happy with it? I noticed they don’t certify their filters and they say they do not do PFAs. But you seem to show the flow rate is not heavily I,packed and does a good Jo’s so I may try them out.
@@handydadtv Same thing happened to me. It was a rented home and I didn't want to drill. Finally the three way tap solved my issue, stylish and quality. It has three hoses underneath, you just connect one of them to the osmosis water filter. All of my issues were solved and after moving to another one. I left no marks, drill holes on the old home. Kept the tap with me. Because it can be reused to another kitchen.
Can you find a better one for that price? I haven’t tested EVERY water filter, but I’ve had many. I’ve been using it for a year and it’s the best that I’ve had, especially for that price.
@@handydadtv Nicely done video presentation here. However, with all due respect, the old adage "you get what you pay for" is an apt response here with regard to price. While for many folks, taste and clarity are primary considerations and in that regard, a cheap filter like this one may meet their needs. On the other hand, an increasingly perhaps overwhelming majority of people looking to purchase/install a water filtration system be it under sink or whole house are primarily concerned about their health and what's in their water. For that segment of water filter shoppers, this filter and by the company's own admission is not going to cut it. For them, this is hardly "the best under sink filter", (maybe not the worst cheap water filter system either) it is worthless and would be a total waste of money. Even their UF version won't measure up when it comes to filtering arsenic, PFAS, PFOA/GenX and chromium 6 to name just a few that are present in many community water supplies and wells across the country. For that filtration- I'll gladly pay more, even considerably more for that level of filtration and protection.

Taste of the water "not up to our standards"... I remember Jersey water, I definitely don't miss that flavour!
🤣
Thanks so much for the very informative video. i live in a place where there is so much limescale .. does this resolve this problem ?
Check with the company using the link in the description.

I have 7 months on my first filter. Still tastes and flows fine. I’m planning to replace it annually unless something goes wrong.
I have the same type filter line but longer tube one cost $60-70,it claims able to purify 25,000 gallons water!
@@Sean-md2gy Do you believe their claim?
Thanks for the vid! Just ordered one to do the same as you, replace my brita pitcher!

nice video. thanks for making it - love the voice over technique.
Thanks 😊
This is literally the solution I need for my apartment's terrible water. I'm assuming the unit doesn't have to be mounted?
It doesn't have to be but if you didn't want to drill holes you could always use command strip mounts or double sided tape.
I’m in a rental home. Command strips sound good. No drilling damage.
Thank you for the recommendation.
Thats what i need for my faucets design.
👍🏻
Thanks for the video !
After a year of use is the pressure still good? Do you recommend it ?
I’m still on the first cartridge and it’s flowing just as good. Planning to replace it around New Years.

Great video! How do you know when to replace the filter? Is it just by taste and flow or is there some type of meter?
I plan to replace it annually. Have the new filter in the garage waiting to do a follow-up video. I will do a before/after taste test and flow test. Stay tuned!
Good video. How’s it holding up? Was it the right size filter for you and your wife?
Same great taste and flow rate as the day I installed it. Coming up on a year. I’ll change the cartridge on New Years.
How often does the filter need changing please?
They are rated for gallons so it depends on how much you use it. I changed my annually.

I just start to use this same one filter why the water did not look good clear and how do i know when is the time need to replace the filter thank you
I plan to replace it annually. I hope to never know when it “needs” to be changed.
Thank you!
My pleasure!
Does it filter hot water too?
No, it’s installed on the cold water line.
if your washing dishes does use the filter also
You can certainly choose to split the output and use filtered water in the dishwasher, but I didn’t.
Have you tested the purity of the water over time? The ppm and ph
No, just used my tastebuds.
Tell me about the chlorine ?
You’ll have to look for water testing results on their website.
Does it really remove fluoride?
Not the one I have. If you want to remove fluoride, go with their reverse osmosis system.
Great video thanks for sharing
My pleasure

I’ve had no issues. Here’s the follow up video after a year.

so how's the water quality ? i purchased the 15UB 16gallon model after watching your video
Taste is great! Perfectly clear and clean and pure.

Which model is this you are using from Waterdrop?
It’s in the title of the video: WD-10UA.

I bought one in March and it didn't last 7 months. It's around $40 the first time you purchase it too.
You must use more water than me. Get the bigger refill cartridge and it will last twice as long.
Does this affect the flavor of the ice cubes in the freezer as well?
Not the undersink version like this, but they have others that can filter your fridge water.
Go handy dad
Thanks 😊
i live ur vidios keep it up

You don't need to drill anything. Just get a 3 way water filter tap.
I’ll look into that

also wandering a $25 filter can be use thousand gallons of water? very questionable of it
It’s been nearly a year for me on the original filter. Will replace it around New Years.
That is one weird water shut off valve. Never see that one.
Me neither. The house is only 3 years old so these were probably the cheapest.
Agree!feel like it’s from 5gallon water dispenser……..shouldn’t use any metal tool to work on it!
btw are u better of what happene to ur finger that got swolen
best means it filters the best. which you have no clue what it filters so how can you know. what clickbait
