I think I prefer the passive. I'm also aware that I change my mind about these things, quite often.

everything you played was so awesome - not even thinking about the pickups after hearing it lol

I'm a fan of both to be honest. I think mostly because im not an overly fussy person and i love variety.
    And i love guitar. 🤘
And holy shit those guitars are stunning!!!
    Another cool video mate!

After jumping on the “EMGs suck” bandwagon and trying tons of passive and other brands of active pickups, here I am living with EMGs and loving it.

IMHO, passive pickups are way more expressive in this video ! Congrat and thanks for this great content ! 🙏

I have a really nice set if headphones and listened to both multiple times. I prefer the active pups for a couple reasons. They blend together better not mudding each other out. They have better mid and treble than the passive ones and better harmonics as well. But it is really personal preference. Emgs are better in a live setting as well.

Good guitars. I own the RGIF7 with mods, and now I'm about to own an RG921...........

What is the technical difference between active and passive and why do they sound different? (Yes, I could look this up, but I'd enjoy a video with your explanation).
The answer to that may also answer my next question in that why do active pickups seem to be more common on bass guitars?

That's a great question, or rather two great questions. In layman's terms, where passive pickups rely on impedance to transmit their signal to the amplifier, active pickups are essentially pre-amplified at the guitar, the benefits of which include more output, a lower noise floor and a more consistent tone curve across all amplitudes (passive signals for instance tend to lose treble when turned down).
They are comparatively more popular for use with bass guitars firstly because active signals are naturally compressed and bass benefits from compression, but also active basses tend to have quite elaborate preamps with for example parametric EQs and band boosts also ideal for very precisely shaping tone.
I will cover this more in detail in a future video, but for the above reason it might actually be a bass review.

So if a guitar has passive pups..can i easily replce with active pups or do i need to fck.around with modding it

Unfortunately active pickups will need different pots, a different switch, somewhere to put 1 or 2 9v batteries and maybe a preamp... It's not a straightforward job at all.

Depends if you have enough space for the 9v battery or not.

The pronunciation of nouns in other languages is in fact not fixed and defined only by convention. For example, "Paree" would be an acceptable pronunciation of the capital of France but most English speakers say it "Pariss".

I've never had active pickups simply because I don't want to have to deal with having yet another battery to change.
