My buddy and I used to watch RAW and flip to Nitro, or vice versa depending on the storyline. Warrior showing up had us on the edge of our seats…. What a bad memory that match was.
I didn't think Hogan's signing was a huge boon for WCW financially, considering how much they paid him. He did bring a lot more eyes to the product but the more devoted WCW fans considered him an outsider and didn't want to support him over guys like Flair and Sting regardless of how much WCW pushed Hogan. Where it started to reap dividends was his heel turn and I think more specifically bringing in Hall and Nash. Once the NWO took off, that's when the company really started to turn a profit even with the big contracts handed out. Goldberg's rise also was huge but buy rates and profits weren't through the roof after Hogan signed initially and as far into 1995.
The worst part is Bischoff has Foley and Austin right there, ugh, NWO should have died after Starcade as Hall and Nash boot Hogan from NWO and they do something else
Yeah Hogan was terrible as the red and yellow in WCW, the gimmick had gotten very stale by that point. He was getting booed by a fair chunk of the WCW fans by the end of his face run. Game changing and revolutionary as Hollywood in the nWo though.

Unpopular opinion but I think Sid had a better run in WCW than in WWE, he still had some pretty good matches in both companies and his two best matches were also in each company respectively
There is literally nothing unpopular about that. Anyone with a couple of brain cells can see that Sid was a much bigger deal in WCW, even though they were responsible for his injury.
Looking that part of Rick Rude part...the stable he was part of was amazing. Paul E as the mouth piece with Bobby Eaton, AA, Rude, Larry Zbyszko, and Stunning Steve. Look at how much past, current, and future star power it had, knowing what we know now.
Scott hall should have been number 1 not just because he recently passed, but we all know the best promo of all time is “ you know who I am, but you don’t know why I’m here”
The Dangerous Alliance is one of the greatest heel stables of all time. Don't believe me? Just look at the legends in that stable and then you'll know why.

Sadly though this was awesome it ultimately ruined WCW's momentum especially with the failures of Bret and Warrior. WWE had this problem, and TNA had this problem and now both are unwatchable. I'm worried this might happen to AEW given the momentum they now have.
One advantage I could see AEW having is their : willingness to work with other companies, the embrace of the Indy wrestlers (who bring creativity and such), and it’s a cycle thing so it’s not unsaid that there is a chance AEW does come crashing down, but for now I think their crowds are better

why do you always say that about Bret Hart and the too good to turn doen thing.. it's well known fact that Vince told him to leave dispite Bret not wanting to because Vicne couldn't honour Bret's new 20 year contract..
It's also believed that the reason Vince said he wouldn't honour the contract was because he'd figured out Bret had been playing him and Bischoff off of each other for more money. Also after Bret physically assaulted Shawn backstage it may have forced Vince to make the decision. This is another way of looking at the situation.

Sounds like you're simping for Vince, who regularly jerked his talent around and would have lost his shirt if Bret had wanted to sue him for breach of contract. And if they were going to punish Bret for 'assaulting' Shawn Michaels, they would have punished Shawn's vast litany of unprofessional bullshit before it ever got to that point.
The Bret Hart signing should've been as much a game changer as the Scott Hall signing.
