Everyone knows it's easier to bunnyhop on a bike you don't have
Wth😂😂😂
Yes... especially on those ultra expensive carbon ones😁😁
😂😂😂
Oh yes
me like commet you.448🙂
wow that is such an effective analogy dude!!
i agree
That sweet
Agree
me like commet you.228🙂
Agreed
I don't mean to brag, but I can get the front wheel off the ground almost every attempt 😁 andddd that's about it.
Oh yeah, well I can front flip it to my face on flat.
@@notsupr7721 Dang bro how did you learn that one? I’ve been practicing for ages but I can’t seem to stick the landing with my face
after you set into your little compression and lift up..its just pushing the bike forward while taking the weight of your feet, the rear end will follow naturally, you dont really have to do anything else.
WOW😮

Duuude the trampoline makes it so intuitive! Awesome!
Love that you are back to teaching skills!
More please.
I mean he's called Skills with Phil for a reason
Genius!!! Great way to demonstrate the "preload" needed to hop a full suspension.
This is a skill a lot of us take for granted. Try and teach someone who has never done one before, then you'll appreciate its value.
Saw the bunny hop tutorial literally yesterday and wondered about the mentioned difference to the hardtail. Thanks a lot!
Wow I have a background in bmx and recently got a dh bike (I ride at highland and thunder) and I could hop but not great and that trampoline analogy was absolutely terrific thanks
Thanks Mathew, glad the analogy landed. Maybe we'll cross paths at highland, cheers.
I love these short vids, Phil. Well done.
maybe he could collect all the short vids and put them together to make a decent watchable youtube video! please stop this trend of turning youtube into tiktok or intagram!
I love Phil 😻
I’ve been looking for a simple video like this. Yea, I can bunny hop on my hardtail, but there’s still too much arm involved I feel. And this made it so clear! Thanks Phil!!
i feel like it’s easier to learn to bunny hop on full sus but when you’re good you can go higher on a hardtail
Dude, you literally just helped me do my first bunny hop, Thank you!!!
That is awesome, I'm glad to hear that :)
This is such an eloquent way to express this!!! Rad!
I have been bad at bunny hopping on my full suspension for years. You just fixed my problem in one minute! Thanks Phil! Love the content!
Yo thanks man!
I had no idea on how to jump on flat ground with a hard tail.
This helped a lot!
Great explanation 🤘🏼
That was an amazing comparison Phil. Love it!
these shorts are pretty cool! thanks for the uploads!
Awesome analogy. I've been trying to teach my son how to bunnyhop higher but could never quite explain it to him how to do it. I'm sure this will help him
straight to the point Phil, good job
I learned to bunny hop on a full suspension bike tho
Easily the best MTB youtuber
this is how you tutorial. 1 min videos for the win!
I've missed your tutorials - that's what drew me to your channel years ago
The bunny hop has finally clicked🤙 you sir, explain it weller then most..😁
This is awesome!
Just discovered the channel and can't wait until morning to try out some of these tips. Thanks!
Your the only reason I can bunny hop onto a bench ngl
That was so helpful. Thanks!!
playing around with the lockout switch will give you an advantage on a course.
The explanation with the trampoline was brilliant!
Good one. I have never thought of it this way
This video is awesome. That’s probably the best explanation of bunny hopping I’ve ever heard
Thats what I thought, I find it alot harder to bunny hop a hardtail as high as a full suspension and it makes perfect sense, a bunny hopping a full suspension is like jumping on a trampoline, while a hardtail is like jumping off the ground normally
What? There’s no way! I bunny hop waaay higher on my buddies hardtail and on my personal BMX I can bunny hop real high too! My full squish? Yeah right lol
@@bear2959 most people think im crazy for that but I bunny hop significantly higher on my full squish than my hardtail 😂
Whoa, you mean it's possible to explain something well in 1 minute instead of 1 hour (with 50 minutes of ads) ??? :)
Thanks for playing bikes with me today! I love that.
Omg you make it look so easy 🤣 I've almost lost my balls so many times trying this 🥲 but I'll be sure to keep trying , glad I just found this channel so you can teach me 😅🙌
I have known this for a while now but it was super cool to see it explained to this way!🤘
Punky Brewster called, she wants her shoes back.
What a great analogy, thanks for the tip!
Love the shorts
Great video!
Thanks for the knowledge Captain Phil!!
All the summers on the Snowboard on the trampoline in the 80s made the switch so easy 4 me in the 90s,, 😊
Fantastic tutorial, Phil 👍🏼
Gold as always! Phil!
He’s back!!
The full susser absorbs that hops. Got to lockout the switch
If you have the rebound set to be fast, it will return a lot of that energy and you can actually get loads of pop out of it
Love the short shorts
This is huge! Can't believe I never seen this before.
Thx that makes alot more sense thx for helping us
Great analogy!
Excellent explanation!
Thank you this is a very simple way to help me learn how to bunny hop
Amazing video keep it up
This is the beat explanation I've heard 👏
GT bike TI's crazy 🤘👌🔥
Dear Phil, is there any chance on the horizon that we might get to see you shred it - on a gravel or cyclocross bike?
I like your bikes😍, Gt!!!!
You should definitely do a series called 60-second skills.
well put!
Clear explanation. Thank you!
I can Bunny Hop a BMX bike just fine but when it comes to a mountain bike I can only get the front end lifted up
Dope kicks too
This guy explains it so well
Thank you 🙏 :)
These shorts are great.
I don't even ride MTB, but your explanation are very good that I clicked subscribe
Thankyou phil, still mad I went to highland the day right before you went🤧
Amazing explanation
Thanks man this helps a lot considering I have full suspension.
Best tutorial thanks
Thank you Phil
Never thought about it this way ...thanks...
Thanks Phil
Thanks 👍 much appreciated!
Thank you!
Holy S!!! This might actually help me. I can decently hop on a bmx or my DJ mtb, but my Enduro I struggle to do hop or manual well. Never thought of it this way!
Very well explained
How has the wait reduction effected your riding Phil? Hope your brake hack worked !!
thanks phil 🙏
Its easy to use the full squish concept on a hardtail or a fully rigid bike if you have plus size tires and run low pressure. Its just the same but a little less give and spring back
Requires an actual ramp and lip to work yo the best extent. Flat ground is waaaaay muted
Bro is preaching the truth
Now make a video about the advantages of full Suspenion
I was very distracted by how handsome he is.
nice one phil never thought of it like a trampoline nice
Full suspension is beter because you don’t have to really use that much force to jump the with a hardtail-for people who don’t understand 😅
Please do one about cornering 🙏
I wish I had known this information 40 yrs ago when I had my mountain bike 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He is so good at it wish i could bunnyhop too
The drop technique works with both and u can get bigger hops on a hard tail if u do!
Very hard work
Thought that was called a j-hop. Back in the bmx days it was called a j-hop and bunny hop was when you lift the entire bike at once.
But how to get your tail up without clip pedals? Just push down the front bar when it's in the air?
I miss the hair! Good point
thank for your help
Do people bunny hop before big jumps, is that how you make it over the jumps?
Pls more please
this actually taught me to bunny hop on hard tail and dual sus
I learned bunny hop on hartail. On a fullsus you need that timing. It took a bit time for me to do hing bunny hop on a full sus.
